Pokemon sequel is under development for DS

Doesnt matter this isnt the power rangers pokemon dont have to be color coded for you to remember what type it is.

Well, apparently GF thought so until now seeing how color coded the types have always been.

Is the Zebra an evolution of Girafarig?

Love the Fire Ape and Wheel, and okay with the Pink Fat Blob.

The others are the typical and boring ones.

Yeah because Voltorb Electrode and Flaffy are obviously yellow and blue and there is never exceptions to the colors heck out side of the main elements they never really follow any color pattern,

For Flaffy, thats why I said "most all" (funny, it's other 2 forms are bright yellow and even Fluffy has a blue marble on it's tail. ) . . . and bright red a also a common color in the thunder Pokemon color pattern (see Pikachu/ Electivire/ Rotom + it's forms/ Ampharos and so on).

I find it strange that they are NOW putting these main colors on the back burner and making them less notable in the over all color pattern for the 2 known thunder types (Zekrom = red eyes/ Zebra = yellow/ blue eyes and blue inner ear) in favor of using black. I point them out because . . . the other new Pokemon go with their type color themes and this just seems to be a readjusting of the thunder type. :/

Edit- Now Reshiram seems to be the first White and Blue fire type 0_o

It doesn't look like there's parts of the map cut off by the ocean. Maybe abilities like Surf won't be needed anymore to progress?

By the way, Electric and Fire as types for the new legendaries makes sense. The world of this new generation seems to be very industrialized. It's only logical that the legendaries correspond to these sources of power.

I like all the designs but isn't the fire ape a bit similar to the Chimchar line? I like it but it's a shame that the new monkey Poke is the same type as the old one.

Is that a church? To the east of Hiun, over the bridge in the clearing?

Also, has anyone identified where in Japan Isshu is based off of yet?

It doesn't appear to be physically based on anywhere. Really, the layout seems to resemble Manhattan more than anything.

Actually, now that you mention it.. Hiun City is lower Manhattan. Mountainous place on the left is Jersey, landmass on the right is Brooklyn/Queens.

Liberty Island on the lower left, Governor's Island on the lower right?

Has no one mentioned that it looks like the United States in general?

You have the mountain range in the west, the mountain range in the east, two major rivers on either side (Colorado and Mississippi), a desert in south/southwest, and the most obvious is the Florida-shaped panhandle and the Keys right off of it...

Fire/Dragon and Electric/Dragon are fucking awesome types. Can't wait.

But damn, some of those new Pokemon they revealed are ugly as sin. Shimama and Hihidaruma look alright, but besides that... yuck.

Finally we are getting random WiFi matches. This will be the best Pokemon game hands down.

The new Pokemon also look pretty good. New abilities all around plus new attacks. Earthquake Spiral looks like the most interesting ability. Plus Reshiram being Dragon/Fire is pretty cool.

So much speculation that Isshu would no longer be a Japan region analogue.

The speculation that I had heard most frequently was that this would be based off of the Chūgoku region.

My guess is the Chūgoku region, but I'm not sure if it fits, geographically speaking.
Given that assumption, it seems to me that Hiun City is Hiroshima. As Forkball mentioned, the desert region would seem to be the Tottori Sand Dunes--the only sand dunes in Japan; however, they are separated from Hiroshima by the Chūgoku mountain range, which makes things a little sticky in terms of matching up with this map geographically. I am tempted to say that they merely pieced together aspects of the general Chūgoku region.

Hiun City = Hiroshima
Central Park = Kōraku-en
Desert Area = Tottori Sand Dunes
Mountain Range = Chūgoku Mountains
Sky Arrow Bridge = Great Seto Bridge(?)
Church(?) = St. Francis Xavier Church(?) in Yamaguchi City (of Yamaguchi Prefecture)--same region(!)

The mountain range on the left and the sand dunes on the right would set the region as the northern half of Chūgoku (a.k.a. the San'in region). Hiun City as Hiroshima would set the region as the southern half (a.k.a. the San'yō region). The desert as the Tottori sand dunes would be odd, however, as they meet with the Sea of Japan, which would place them further north of Tottori itself. Thus, the map should look something like:

River (Sendai River) -> Mountains (Chūgoku Range) -> City (Tottori) -> Desert (Tottori Sand Dunes) -> Ocean (Sea of Japan)

I'm anxious to piece this together, though!

Fake Edit: Sorry that this took so long to post--I got distracted. =/ A lot of this is just rehashed speculation at this point, but I thought I might go ahead and post it anyhow.

Real Edit: It could be an amalgam of Honshū-Shikoku, especially given the number of bridges in the region. I'll give it some more thought!

I do loke all those Pokemon now. The chinchilla is a bit bland but eh, it's there for cutesy appeal. The crocodile and ape are awesome.

And Reshiram is Dragon/Fire? Crazy!

They are alright I guess. The chinchilla and aligator are cool at least. Still hoping that most of the new Pokemon are original.

Random battles still doesn't fix the issue of it taking FOREVER to create a team. Not to mention there needs to be some kind of smart matchmaking or you'll be playing people with their Elite Four teams.

Doesn't the Random Battle thing sound like PBR's own online battle thing? If so, you could expect similar options to that, possibly (level ups/downs/caps, rulesets, etc.).

Goddamn that chinchilla's cute. I'll get a team full of them for 6 times the D'AWWWWWWWW

Sand croc and flamin' ape are awesome, zebra and gears are really starting to grow on me, Munna is... kinda creepy.

New prof... :D

And FUCK YEAH RESHIRAM!

Actually, the sprite of the zebra doesn't look too bad. I like it more. The gears are so freakin' cool.

I do like the ape a lot as well as the croc, I just wish the colors were a little more subdued.
