(when did Dem and Repubs switch colors?)
The media used to switch the colors fairly often (perhaps even every election), but after the 2000 election, all the pundits decided "Republican" and "Democratic" were too hard to write and shorthanded it down to "Red" and "Blue." Which is hell on old timers like me who can't remember which color is supposed to be which party.

That doesn't even make sense. If Biden somehow sadly died he wouldn't pick her.

"Most likely never" is only most likely because there is a slim slim chance Obama could lose in Nov. Him losing is her ONLY chance at running. If he wins, it's over. Regardless of who ends up dying.

Obviously not, but I am thinking he might pick a different running mate in 2012, one who could succeed him in 2016 (which Biden won't) like Schweitzer or Warner. Only with Biden's consent, of course.

But yes, I'm getting ahead of myself. ;)

In terms of the media, yeah, it was fairly unsettled and changed from network to network until 2000 when everyone used the same scheme. In terms of ideology though, red is traditionally associated with labor/socialist groups and blue more with conservative groups. Kinda weird how we flipped it.

That was my main nitpick about Biden. That if indeed Obama gets two terms the Democratic candidate would most likely be someone in his cabinet which means less national recognition for that person but you are right in that looking ahead that far is silly at this stage.

I wonder if Chelsea wants to get into politics. I could see her as a Congressman in a few years. She certainly has the education and name recognition.

If it comes to questions about adult relations between her Mother and Father damn straight she shouldn't answer them.

And I have no idea where all this Chelsea is the new Clinton who will be a politician stuff comes from.

My friend goes to NYU Columbia for medicine and Chelsea's in one of her classes. Apparently Chelsea is really friendly, and has a cool circle of friends. My friend also mentioned all the guys fawn over her too.

Well if he continues to come off as a high school drama queen as he has been then I have no problem with it.

I used to like McCain, not all his policies mind you, but his overall being. I would of voted for him in 2000 had he made it, if only because the whole PMRC thing left me rather anti-gore (and he wouldn't develop a personality until leaving politics).

It becomes clear looking back that his "maverick" nature was not the result of being steadfast about certain beliefs. It seems that most of the chutzpah and going against the grain that was so appealing was in fact him acting like a petulant schoolboy. I don't think he's ever grown up from that renegade youth that almost failed out of school.

Why is Chelsea back in college? She graduated from law school years ago.

If she wanted to be a judge, wouldn't she have to go back to school?

I'm certain that the Republicans advocated the permanent switch to red because it appeared more dominant on an electoral map. I don't remember exactly where I heard this, it was likely in a political science course.

Obviously he ran out of polls to use that had less than a 5pt spread.

Well, according to a random article I found on Google, she wants to get a better understanding of public health policy. Looks like she'll carry the torch her mom carried(s) for so many years.

No. There are no special qualifications to be a judge other than being a lawyer.

I suppose she could be getting an LLM, which is a specialized law degree that focuses on one area; such as tax, bankruptcy, etc... But someone with her resume' doesn't really need that.

Makes sense. I guess when your parents are rich, you might as well stay in school as long as you want.

Anyone who argues Hillary should get nominated for the Supreme Court should be punched in the face. I cannot imagine a worse hell for our judicial system than politicizing the Supreme Court in such a way.
I think she'd make a good senate majority leader. She's a good arm twister and gets people in line.

My personal ideology would rather see a blue dog dem in that position, but her skills are a very good fit.

Didn't she go to work for a hedge fund after school? Somehow I doubt that "Wall Street speculation/profiteering" will be an effective narrative for a DEM nominee.

The turning point for me. I liked McCain a lot, up until this interview. Now I just see a shill.

McCain is worthless. Instead of giving policies, he's distorting Obama's plans. Sounds like he got his talking points straight from Fox News :lol
