Agreed - maybe some of these people should ask themselves where the term "SOCIAL Security" comes from...
Well...McCain wants to privatize that, too. Eradicate the Postal Service!

ugh.

Exactly, which is why it buggs me so much. McCain goes on his rants about socialism and Obama, meanwhile he's backing a whole lot of socialized programs, I'm assuming.
Yeah....McCain doesn't seem to have a problem with his socialized health care....

So when do you guys get to know the results? I might stay up and watch it but not if it takes all night...

Obama definitely seems like the better choice btw. Nice to see him prevail :)

My guess would be sometime after 8pm EST. Could be earlier if Obama picks up GA, NC, VA, PA, FL, etc. Could be later if the east coast states are close..

I am just too damn excited to sleep. It's starting to truly hit me. Today will live on as not only one of the most important days in American history, but for all of humanity as well. And in a little over an hour, I'll be able to participate with my vote. What a fantastic feeling.

Would you believe we still have to endure two more months of Bush after this. Doesn't seem right. =/

I'm about to head out to do my part and act as an election observer all day today in Columbus, Ohio. Hopefully it will be an uneventful day (don't want any disenfranchisement going on).

Thanks. That would be 01.00 UTC, so I'll probably stay up and watch it. The last election took forever if I recall correctly.

It's supposed to be starting AROUND 7pm Eastern time. It's almost 3am Mountain where I live, so that'd be about 14 hours from right now when coverage about results will be fixing to start.

Well, at least fortunately for us he's the lamest of lame ducks at this point. I don't think we'll be seeing much of him for the rest of his term.

Why isn't the MSNBC stream working? Goddammit!

I'm not getting any work done today, just F5'ing PoliGAF and waiting to get to go home. Make history tonight, America!

I remember the news yesterday or two days ago showing Bush signing a few things right now so they'd be laws when the next president gets into office.

Something about Clinton signing some things right before he left office, and there being a 90 day 'cancellation period', which Bush got into office within those 90 days and cancelled them. The stuff he signed the other day was, going by the news, things that allowed more industrial pollution (oil companies and stuff?) and things like that, signed NOW, so the 90-day cancellation period will have passed when the next president gets into office so they will be law.

That's it. I've gone with the nuclear option: two Tylenol PMs.

In the meantime, I'm enjoying Olbermann's mix-tape of manufactured Obama comments. :lol

Oh yeah. I remember hearing about that. Downer. :(

Yeah, I wish I could remember what all they were; seems like they were only mentioned once for about 30 seconds, then never again.

I'm kinda wondering the same thing. I've got CNN, but it's constantely interruted by CNN Europe news and etc. I wish I could watch FOX News since I'm sure that'd be hillarious to watch if Obama wins.

If Obama does win, will Fox News just keep attacking him or will they give him a chance? Will Hannity and his pals continue this character assassination on a sitting president?

Just watch Fox News and enjoy the bitter tears.

I think the bitter tears are going to be the second-best thing about this evening. I'm still holding-out hope that Hannity has a break-down live on the air.. :D

You're really asking either of these questions?
