Basically just said that when he was losing and bitter at stuff going on, that Al Gore called him and told him it's not about him, it's about the American people and he got over it. :lol

We had a discussion on it last thread, didn't we? I would say the key facts of the Puerto Rico situation is that independence has almost no support and that support for statehood has grown continually, to the point where it is now roughly even with support for the status quo (common wealth.) I think the consensus was that it will happen eventually, probably sooner than later.

Commonwealth support isnt "That" strong. It gets alot of crossover support from the small independence voters who in fear of impending statehood jump over to vote for whatever commonwealth option is available. Or like in 1998 they voted for "None of the above".

I still think with a simple Statehood or Indipendence vote you would resolve it and the commonwealth supporters would prefer Statehood over indipendence.

I found out why David Greggory was defending the media nonstop this week during the McClellan book stuff.

I bought the book and was browsing it. He is constantly trashing David Greggory by name for being complacent with Bush and not pushing Bush about Iraq. :lol Basically he feels David Greggory symbolized the complacent non-challenging press of 2001-2004.

Its more complex then this.

Yeah, I know, I was just giving a quick summary.

Something the woman speaking right now doesn't know how to do.

"We put a wall on February 5th, allowed Iowa and New Hampshire beforehand for tradition, and decided to let Nevada and South Carolina to go beforehand after processes through committees. Michigan and Florida broke the Feb 5th wall, and we gave them the maximum punishment."

Its not that hard, and this is why I hate politics sometimes.

Also the funny thing Dean said was that there had been blatantly sexist remarks from the media and that there had been blatantly racist remarks.....

no mention of the media there:p

This co-chairmen is obviously a Clinton hack

Claiming that Florida was forced by the Republican legislature/Governor (true, but they went along with it). Also calling the supers "automatic delegates"

Apparently there is quite a history between them. From Wikipedia:

At a White House press "gaggle" (an off-camera morning briefing) on February 13, 2006 two days after the accidental shooting of a Houston lawyer by U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney, Gregory confronted Scott McClellan, the White House Press Secretary, about the manner in which the press was notified about the incident. (By agreement with the Vice President, the incident was first reported by the Corpus Christi Caller-Times after the owner of the ranch on which the incident took place waited some 14 hours.) This led to the following exchange:

MCCLELLAN: "Hold on. Cameras aren't on right now. You can do this later."

GREGORY: "Don't accuse me of trying to pose to the cameras. Don't be a jerk to me personally when I'm asking you a serious question."

MCCLELLAN: "You don't have to yell."

GREGORY: "I will yell. If you want to use that podium and try to take shots at me personally, which I don't appreciate, then I will raise my voice, because that's wrong."

MCCLELLAN: "Calm down, David."

On February 19, Gregory appeared on NBC News' Meet the Press and apologized for his behavior which he referred to as "unprofessional".

Is it just me, or is this argument not going to look very good in the morning.....

"Look, give us half the voted delegates, that's cool, but don't touch the delegates that have nothing to do with the voters!"

Nope, even the Florida guy said that he knows it'll be 50% at the most.

Man, that's gotta irk Hillary and her supporters given she's been all about the 100%. Florida doesn't even waste time asking for it.

she still gets the 100% popular vote argument, though she's been using that for quite some time to no effect.

He's blaming the Republican state legislature for refusing to move the primary to a valid date. Basically, their state screwed them.

Killthee

helped a brotha out on multiple separate occasions!
Am I crazy or does his argument ("SHALL!!!!") for 100% supers sort of make sense.

Wow this fucking guy is owning the DNC.

The superdelegate, Jon Ausman, is bitching the DNC out about him getting his full vote.

He can't be penalized because the constitution of the DNC protects him. :lol

It makes 100% sense. He's amazing.

Jon Ausman is very impressive. He almost makes me want to become a politician or a lawyer.

Which is a poor argument considering the Dems all voted with them on it and even basically said "F the DNC" while doing so.

His argument makes sense, but all rules arguments do, there's just usually a contradictory rule somewhere.

I think even Fowler, who endorsed Clinton just said that Supers aren't special and should be treated the same.

And did he just get applause for a chart?:lol

Ohhhh, that's what it means by half delegates versus half votes, the 4 votes knocked down to 2 votes means 3-1 becomes 1-1.

Well that's weird, did Ausman just totally change his argument?
I think he said that seating 100% would be just fine, but he's arguing for what he thinks he can actually attain.

Thoughts on the Obama rally Tuesday in St. Paul. On one hand, this is awesome- I'll take Obama in Minnesota as many times as we can get him. On the other, it's fucking disappointing. My roommate is deeply involved with the MN Obama campaign, and he had been pushing one of Obama's MN campaign co-chairs to have the Senator come speak on our campus (which is like 15 blocks away from the Xcel Center) right before the RNC this fall, partly for the disruptive factor, and partly because people still consider MN a swing state.

But then, last night, I saw the story someone posted from our local NBC affiliate, and it killed me, because I knew it made complete political sense. I guess I should be honored that our next president wants to officially start his GE campaign in our fair state, and I'm definitely going to be at Tuesday's rally, but goddammit, now he'll never speak at our school.

I will take pictures, though (and they should be good...)
