Same, it is unfortunate that he has to dissociate himself with his Church.

Obama and his family's relationship towards their spirituality is toward God, NOT his congregation.

And until you truly understand that, you probably won't like his decision.

No. The Democratic race hasn't been like a console war to me. All I want is a Democrat in the White House. I supported Hillary because I thought she had a better chance at winning in the general.

And re: grow the fuck up. I'm talking about "Shrillary", "hag", "bitch," "cunt" etc. that seems to get thrown around an awful lot. And just because Obama supporters have been obnoxious doesn't let the likes of Ickes and co. off the hook.

Welcome to the fold, but yeah, I think that if Obama's supporters "need to grow up," Clinton's supporters need to get out of diapers and start wearing "big boy/girl pants."

The problem with Ickes going to the credentials committee is that Obama will have a majority of delegates and thus a majority on the committee.

Soooo...

Obama has a majority of all pledged delegates, even taking into account Florida and Michigan. As a result, all of the superdelegates who promised to vote in accordance with the pledged delegates can be considered Obama supporters.

Nancy Pelosi
Christine Pelosi
Jimmy Carter
Maria Cantwell
Denise Johnson
Chris Van Hollen

Six down. 58 to go.

In addition, the remaining 12 Edwards delegates that have not yet stated an endorsement of Obama are likely to go for Obama. 46.

WAIT WAIT WAIT. Is there any meat behind the threat? I thought she would "accept any decision."

I wanna see what David Plouffe's count will be on the BarackObama.com counter, because THAT is the counter they go with for when they declare victory.

Ok just wanted to make sure I didn't miss that.

Can we generally expect a statement from each campaign by the end of the night about this?

Not sure. The tone of Obama's church separation doesn't seem to be a rally. I am hoping Hillary says something. I want some more chuckles.

So wait, how do you resign from going to a church? Is there a membership? Do they have roll call?!

Does Obama even need ~20 supers to endorse him? He needs less if the 6.5 uncommitted Edwards delegates switch to Obama - like they did in other states.

My words were not aim towards Hilary herself but to the annoying lady at the rules of committees. I agree, I shouldn't call them Hillhags though.

Meh. I was a Hillary supporter, but I hate how she ran the late portion of the campaign. I do think that the media gave Obama a free ride/ tongue bath and I'm extremely concerned that he won't hold up to forthcoming scrutiny. Here's hoping he does. I do think that because of the extraordinarily tight race that Obama should have offered Hillary VP as an olive branch to the wing of the Democratic party that supported her. I DON'T approve of Hillary supporters freaking out and going to Denver, but I will say that Obama supporters have been one of the most obnoxious groups of political supporters I've ever witnessed in American politics and that this has been a real turn off to people for whom Obama was not the first choice. I've always said I'll vote for whoever the Dem nominee is, so I'll vote Obama, but many of his supporters could stand to grow the fuck up.

A lot of his supporters are entering politics for the first time so condescending remarks like yours really aren't a good idea. Unless of course you like the way the first 8 years of this millennium started.

I understand the political rationale for him to do that and I don't have problem with it. Nor am I aligning church attendance with spirituality. As a Black man I see it differently this is a man who has been a responsible member of the community, a good husband, and a good father. He exemplifies what hard work and faith can give back to you. I think that most of America who has never been to a Black Church or understands the Black Church experience are targeting his relationship with his Church family. To me this place, this Church is not just where he went for spiritual affirmation but, where he learned about the Black community and the black struggle. Now he has to sever ties with the cornerstone of the black community. Many will see this as separating from the Church while I see it as separating from common Black folk.

I understand that and I harbor no ill will to him because of it but, it is just another example to me that for a Black man to be successful in America he needs to sacrifice his blackness.

There are 48 delegates on Tuesday and 55 today.

Assuming you give him 24 on Tuesday and 10 today, that's 34. As I mentioned, 6 superdelegates will support the pledged delegate winner which is Obama officially, and the remainder of the Edwards delegates will break Obama.

So assuming he bombs royally tonight and bombs royally on Tuesday, he'll still only need around a dozen supers.

If you give him 30 on Tuesday and 20 today, the Edwards delegates and "will support the pledged winner" delegates will carry him over the line. It's over.

Sad thing is that most of what was said in all cases were taken out of context, except for the last two Pastorgates.

Obama calls a woman "sweetie," APOLOGIZES FOR IT, and gets lambasted AFTER THE FACT. What the fuck? The scratching his cheek thing was the time I realized people were just really out to get him for the sake of ratings. Disgusting.

The only thing I can say I didn't like about him so far was the Annie Oakley comment, because it sounded like the sort of shit Hillary would say.

I'm also willing to believe Hillary's hard-working white Americans thing was something she misspoke about. I probably would have given her the benefit of the doubt with regards to the RFK thing I hadn't seen that she'd had a long-running history of mentioning it.
