Rihanna's score is riding on diamonds which was released a month ago.
And Taylor's is riding on the fact that she has been releasing songs on iTunes all month, and just released an album.
Just stop
Just chiming in to say that I agree that Gaga has been passed up Britney as the Modern Queen of Pop.
She sells more. She's more relevant. She has more visible impact on the industry as it is today. She's more about that life. And, more importantly, Gaga's just getting started. Everything about Britney these days seems to indicate that she's about done.
I'd say Gaga>Rihanna>>>>>>Britney for the crown at this point,.
Ain't nothing resembling royalty from Rihanus. The mere fact that she's a subordinate of the Carter family precludes her from being in contention.I'd say Gaga>Rihanna>>>>>>Britney for the crown at this point.
I can now confirm Miguel's alberm is far superior to Channel Orange.

The only shimmering object on Rihanus' head is Chris Brown's semen.
But yes, GAGA is the ringleader at the moment. I would also say Beyoncé gives royal teas, but she's a lesser outside America.
I have to agree that Rih is definitely no queen of pop or ever going to be. Queen of Radio and Queen of Digital Sales, yes, but not modern POP. She does give us some good ARTPOP from time to time, and she has a neverending stream of BOPS being released.
I'm afraid I don't understand.
I'm no stan of Rihanna either. But I can't deny how hard she slays.
Slaying radio.
Slaying digital sales.
Slaying fashion.
Slaying Pop culture relevance.
Why CAN'T she be queen of Pop?
Because being relevant and selling means nothing when it comes to that. If that's your metric then might as well call Adele Queen of Pop
It goes Madonna, Britney, and now Gaga.
I think Rihanna is queen of pop material if she continues being consistent and improves on her weaknesses.
At the very least she is modern pop royalty. Her Top 40 resumé keeps growing and the sucess of Diamonds confirms there is no fatigue over her music.
I agree.
What is she missing?
lo....Madonna.....
I try to stay out of this type of thing but really? The only thing more underwhelming than her music are her non existent sales and radio impact.
Talent? Self Respect?
Talent? Self Respect?
Which isn't present in Madonna or Britney. Again, What is she missing?
Since when has that mattered?
If Roy said this instead of what he said in the beginning i wouldn't disagree. Gaga and Rih are modern day pop royalty but you gotta be on something if you think they are Queens of Pop because they are in the now
Rih has yet to have a critically acclaimed album. Because she is on a yearly release schedule for the most part, she doesn't have the time to craft a timeless album. That and the fact that it seems she doesn't have as much creative input as Britney or Gaga do on their albums. She's never going to have a problem making an album go platinum or getting a #1 hit, but she hasn't made a timeless album, yet, and it doesn't seem like she cares to do so.
I do believe she could be a POP QUEEN if she wanted to be one, but I think she's just fine releasing albums, and having us bop to her music. That's fine with me as well.
Rated R was more well reviewed than any Britney album. She was creatively invested in that record, too.

I disagree.
Don't get me wrong, I've argued FOR Britney's creative input in the past. But I don't think Britney's out there in the studio hand-crafting her songs and albums and building something up from scratch. She has input, yes; but honestly I can't think of any area that Britney's had creative input where Rihanna hasn't had similar creative input in her own career.
Ain't nothing inevitable in this industry, especially on Rihfund's current trajectory. Not just that. I mean, if it was just about in-the-now then Adele and Katy Perry would be Queens.
I think ITZ better articulated what I was trying to say. If Rihanna stays on her current track, becoming a queen is inevitable. All the pieces are there. Multiple platinum albums. #1s falling out her ass. Pop culture ubiquity. Everything's there.
While all of you argue about who is the queen of pop, there are absolutely no disputes about who the Queen of RAP is.

It's a deafult victory for her.
She's the queen of an empty castle.

Rihanus has yet to define pop culture the way artists like Gaga, Britney or Beyoncé have done, DESPITE being in the industry for eight years now. Most of the the girls for royal contention already had their moment, or several, in that time span.
She has shown no evidence thus far of being capable of producing an era that turns into a cultural zeitgeist, and with her team's current fixation with vapid radio hits and a disregard for everything else, will she ever?
Even with singles there's an air of lesser with her. Despite being overplayed on radio, there ain't a single track in her discography that makes audiences fondly recall "remember THAT moment;" it's always "oh, yeah, I used to bop to that." Rihanus is akin to background music for the current context rather than being the context itself.
Every Stan circle has the conversation almost once a month.
Madonna is Queen
And Britney is Princess.
Period.
Everyone else is pop royalty but ain't got nothin on those woman and their crowns. I don't give a damn about now this is about IMPACT. They both have done A LOT to shape pop music the way it is today. Y'all is some disrespectful and ungrateful bitches. SMH
Bey and Gaga are the only ones I consider real pop royalty especially Bey.
Hey guys, what about Katy Perry??
