I think it's high time I use my first post to introduce something.
INTRODUCING the POPGAF USER SCRIPT.
To install: UserScripts.org
- Jump to your latest unread post in PopGAF OT4
- Easy and quick access to the (new) Plug.DJ room
- STYLISH LOOK to match NeoGAF
- Compatible with FireFox, Safari and Chrome
To install on FireFox: You need to install GreaseMonkey first, then install the script from UserScripts
To install on Chrome: You can either install TamperMonkey or manually drag and drop it to the extensions window.
ie. Save the script to your computer, navigate to Menu -> Tools -> Extensions and then drag and drop the saved script to the extensions menu.To install on Safari: You have to follow a weird process that you can find at SimpleHelp.net
If you have Internet Explorer you don't deserve to use this tbh, sorry.

You know a fanbase is desperate when their cling to a couple shows by an artist that didn't sell out (when the vast majority of them did). They ignore the fact that she has had smash singles, smash albums, and incredible cultural impact RECENTLY while their fave hasn't.
They counter it all with "well MDNA tour made more $$$$".
You would think they would come up with better arguments. Their only saving grace is that gaga fans aren't nearly as insecure as they are and don't feel the need to defend the queen from attacks by Hag stans. Them Monster's are too busy livinglife.

The tour receipts argument is indeed weak. Madonna should have significantly better touring numbers given her history as a touring act, her deep discography, her pop culture status, and her larger international success. This is why other legacy acts who are not relevant to today's musical scene also do incredibly well when they go on tour, though none are quite as big as Madonna.
But it doesn't mean that she is more relevant to today's musical scene than Lady Gaga, and no amount of unflattering pictures will change that fact. And no, a platinum album riding off of the success of her status and Super Bowl performance does not make her relevant, no more than Whitney was relevant in 2009 when I Look to You went platinum.

Lady Gollum looks as if she's been carrying "the precious" in her pocket for 500 years.
Madonna had a #1 this year. She's a truly international act she doesn't have to cling to the one region to validate her "relevance" like Mariah does with Japan, Janice does with South Africa or Gollum does with the US.
