As a big fan of the original game, reading about weapon skins and costumes in this sequel is the perfect way to erode any hype I had built up for its release.

That's least STALKER thing ever.

I just hope the vision of the original STALKER games isn't compromised here. They sorely needed some QoL improvements but hopefully this is a similarly harsh and brutal experience.

It's running on Unreal Engine 5, right? I hope the game will support DLSS.
Anyways curious to see how it turns out.

I wouldn't mind customizing my stalker tbh. I assume you can get skins in game as well.

If there's some cool customization in-game then yeah, that would be neat.

I just worry "costume" =\= "customization." One of those sounds like a MTX. Using terms like "weapon skins" doesn't increase my faith.

Still. It's a minor nitpick of an actual sequel to STALKER. I'll still play it.

Are they locking special quests behind pre-order and editions of the game? I hate when games do that...

Skins is whatever, but actual content that isn't even part of the Season Pass.

add AH gamepass day 1 too and 2022 will be a spectacular year with just these two

Jesus the art design of this game is soo damn cool.

And they always chose great music for their trailers

Super fucking hyped for this one.

Yeah loved all the gameplay they've shown so far so I got my pre-order in no of course I didn't.

I don't think any of that was gameplay at all, it was all in-engine pure scripting as in no one was controlling anything in real-time. I'm sure it can look exactly like that in terms of visual fidelity but almost every camera movement was obviously not actually how it will be in-game, its like the TLOU 2 Paris Games Week video, representative but with a lot of scripted pizazz added to make it look more cinematic.

Go back and watch it and look at the camera movements and how they fire the gun and throw the grenade and how it explodes. Sorry not meaning to be a big party penis but I would expect the game to play like that.

Read my post again. :lollipop_beaming_smiling:

The videogame industry at large is just such an anomaly in terms of how business is handled lol. "Here pre-order our next product of which we basically haven't shown anything yet".

I mean I'm sure this happens in other industries to an extent but the blatant audaciousness of it all is just crazy sometimes.

Don't know whether to order on steam or just wait for the PS5 release, I'll probably have enough to play around spring.

I could never get into the original game so I'm a bit skeptical. But the fact that it is on Game Pass makes it a no brainer to at least give it a shot.

Pre-orders but they still haven't shown any gameplay? I really hope this game is good, but I think it's going to be more like Metro than Stalker. Everything shown so far has been really scripted. Where's all the freeform sandbox stuff from the original game? The original Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl reveal trailer was packed full of gameplay footage showing off all the simulation features.

At this point in time, only suckers pre-order games.
Wait for the game to release, to see if it's really worth your hard earned money.

God I'd like to, but no pre-orders for me. That's a flat rule now. Still excited it's coming out soon! Hope it's as good as it looks.

Definitely waiting to watch streamers play this. Something has felt off about it since E3.
This (apart from I will just gamepass it on day 1) but I'm skeptical. On paper the game could literally be one of my favourite games of all time. The trailers so far have been astounding and exactly what I want from a true sequel to stalker. However...no gameplay...no previews...something seems off. I still expect a delay.

If this thing drops and looks as good as it does and isn't a buggy mess, then I'll shit.

What sort of mug do you have to be to actually pre order a game that huge and ambitious from a studio renowned for what exactly? This thing is going to be a buggy mess at launch

Stop pre ordering..... It's almost like games have been releasing as a buggy mess. Pre ordering will just encourage that, wait for release.

I'm expecting this game to be bugged. It's S.T.A.L.K.E.R after all and I can remember the early times of Call of Pripyat/Clear Sky...
BUT
As opposed to BF2042 or Cyberpunk, I hope that the CORE of the game will be awesome and a true successor for the series. With complex systems and AI, I can excuse some bugs.

I mean I get it, I'm stoked for this but I got burned by cyberpunk and that was the final straw.

Forgot it is on gamepass!

i've never played the first game, do you think this will be worth the purchase? or should I try it on gamepass first.

I don't even get it why people pre order digital games. Are they afraid the keys are gonna run out? it just makes no sense.
