That’s a bit out of nowhere. Game awards footage incoming?

Would be nice with more footage and confirmation of Prime 2 and 3 remasters.

Might be my first Metroid Prime game.

(Technically I played a bit of one at a friend's house when I was a kid.)

People thinking this will look different on Switch 2 are in for a disappointment. It will run exactly the same as the Switch version.

Any chance this is released before October/November 2025? Console launches are usually those months and if it's a launch game then it could be another full year wait.

I'm excited to see how busted a remastered Prime 2 would be compared to the original version of the game. I think the system mechanic stuff like preventing you from Screw Attacking into Morph Ball tunnels to exit the map are easy enough to fix, but there are so many holes in the design (often literally). My favorite is the hole in the map of Temple Assembly Site you can jump through to acquire an early Power Bomb expansion as soon you as get the Space Jump Boots (making PBs the 6th instead of 18th item in the sequence and opening up tons of shenanigans). There's also a wall in dark Landing Site that just doesn't exist, but sadly you can't do anything with it afaik - It just stands out in my memory as something I can't believe wasn't caught in QC.

I think it depends on the amount of effort they put into these.

The rumors from way back were that the first game would be the only one to get the full overhaul treatment, while 2 and 3 would merely be upscaled versions of the original titles.

If that’s true I could see a lot of things staying untouched with just higher resolution textures and modern twin-stick controls being added.

That said I really want both titles to get the same treatment as Metroid Prime Remastered.
