Probably the most remarkable transgender transformation ever

You definitively looks completely natural while the OP example does suffer from plastic surgery syndrome, with that said, without comparisons pics, the OP is more "remarkable" in the sense of how extreme the before/after difference is, which is what the news was going for.
One of the reasons why I won't post it is because I look like two completely different people. You put the pictures side-by-side and you wouldn't be able to tell it was the same person.

That's what has people so intrigued, Dax. The transformation....

I wouldn't dare post a before picture but:

Never would have guessed... nice job not going overboard and keeping it natural.

I used to post before pics but have come to realise it really cheapens transition as some sort of parlour trick.

Edit: oh yeah, and what Dax said. The gaf offshoots and 'that' subreddit don't need any fodder.

Hmm, hadn't thought of it that way.

I would hope that most people would understand what an amazingly intense process it is to make a transition...are there really people who view it as a 'parlour trick'?

If so, that's depressing.

I used to use weight loss before and after pics as motivation when I was dropping weight. While I can see why you might feel that way, there might be someone out there that you can inspire with your changes. Of course, I'm a bit hypocritical as I've never posted my before pics either.

This is now a "Gush over Dax" thread
I bet the chubby child turned Asian doll feels insecure now... haha

I already get hateful messages and vulgar pictures of me as I am. No need to start posting what I looked like before.

That is really awful and I hope it's not fellow GAFFER's doing it

I don't know why people are shaming the original girls look(The one posted in OP). So what if she had some plastic surgery, or if she looks pale? If that's how she wants to look like, then good for her. I dig her look!

Because Dax won!

Is this a common reaction from one transgender to another regarding their progress / 'transformation'? Saying 'eh' and treating it like a competition where they lost seems like it would be viewed as insensitive in general, let alone coming from another trans person.
Hey, dude.

I was responding more to the statement made in the title than making a post as if it's a competition or whatever you think it was. The "eh" was indicating I disagreed — saying that I disagreed with the title because, well, I think mine has been better. And there's nothing wrong with saying that.

Her transition is remarkable and fantastic. Like two completely different people! I sometimes see other transgender people and think, "Damn, she looks so much better than me."

I think it's only because you're a gaf member that people are okay with you having made that post. If this thread was about you or any other transgaf member and someone came in and posted "Eh. I've seen better." and posted other people (specifically non-gaf, so just imagine the opposite of this thread), I don't think anyone would be okay with that post.

Anyway whatever. Just seemed like a really odd post for one trans to make about another but maybe that's not as uncommon as I would have thought.

You can definitely tell that the picture is photoshopped, but if they were able to get even remotely close to that though, that is a pretty amazing achievement.

I'm mildly surprised Lily's only got the one Star Trek poster up in that room.

This is the sort of thing thoughtful people might note if they were thinking of getting her a Christmas present :)

here on GAF?

That is really awful and I hope it's not fellow GAFFER's doing it
No, elsewhere on the internet. GAF offshoots, Twitter, etc. I have to be careful.

I think you're really reaching here. Have you read TransGAF? Members there comment on each other saying stuff like, "You had a much better transformation than me!" all the time.

And the fact that no other transgender person took issue with what I said should give you a hint.

Being homosexual merely means you are attracted to the same sex. Going transgender means you feel you were born in the wrong body, on the wrong side of society. The problem is, you are not. Society is simply enforcing a bunch of rules on each gender and you switched to the side you feel closer to.

Don't change yourself, change society.

As a note, people always told me I am secretly gay because of my "feminine" mannerisms. Well, I picked up a lot from my mom. It was so strong I felt like I was born on the wrong side. But it was not me in the wrong body. It's society having ridiculous allencompassing gender norms.

So, I respect going transgender. But I will never applaud it. Because to me, they got you. They got you good.

I say this with all due disrespect.

You don't have a goddamn clue what you're talking about.

Yes, they make the type of comments I would have thought and the type of comment you initially didn't make. Do people in TransGAF make posts that say "I feel like mine's better" in reaction to someone else posting photos?

I had surgery too but it was relatively minimal compared to the standard I see people usually get.

There's a DS9 poster and a Enterprise D poster that you can't really see.

Hey dude. Just letting you know it's really goddamn offensive for you to say "I'm not attracted to transgender people." It's the equivalent of saying, "I'm not attracted to Asians."
What? That makes no sense whatsoever. That's not offensive. I'm not the person you replied to, but because I'm a straight guy and not attracted to men, that's offensive to men? Nah.

I remember quoting you and your picture (that one above) in a thread about makeup before as a counterexample of people getting comments that they look sick or unhealthy if they don't have their makeup on. Because you look perfectly healthy there.

Anyhow, I didn't even have an inkling of a clue when I saw the picture that you are transgender, it is impossible to tell :o

That is pretty remarkable, you must be really pleased with how you look now.

What? That makes no sense whatsoever. That's not offensive. I'm not the person you replied to, but because I'm a straight guy and not attracted to men, that's offensive to men? Nah.

Please understand that this is a false equivalence. Transgender people are the gender they identify with. You can say you're not attracted to people with a penis, you can say you're not attracted to masculine features on a woman, and you can say you're not attracted to people with emotional baggage, but what you can't say is that you're simultaneously attracted to women and not attracted to transgender women.

Except Dax01 gave the example of it being the equivalent of saying you don't fancy Asian women, so my example stands.

Again, to make it clear since this conversation is about a comment towards me. I didn't say I don't find transgendered people attractive.

There's the offensive part--she's not a man, but a woman. You're not being attracted to men shouldn't have any relevance as she's not a man anyway but a woman and has had SRS on top of that, so ut's not like you have to worry about seeing a dick or anything.

If it's just the fact that she once had a male body that's the problem, well she doesn't anymore. If that's still a problem regardless then well... are you a pedophile (bare with me here)? After all we were all babies once and anyone who's sexually attracted to babies is messed up. Therefore how can you have sex with anyone since we were all babies once and how can you avoid thinking about that and losing your boner instantly?

Obviously though that shouldn't be a problem for you (or at least I sure hope it's not). It's exactly the same situation here--the same way in which you din't think of anyone as babies, there's no reason to be thinking of her as a man to begin with and thus there is no reason this should be a problem, in that same way. It's just as silly as that--it realy is and thus there's no reason that has to be a problem unless you make it one.

Saying 'eh' and treating it like a competition where they lost seems like it would be viewed as insensitive in general, let alone coming from another trans person.
I agree that shitting on someone else's transition to feel better about one's own is probably not the best way to go about things. I mean, some women may not pass well, for example, but I don't think we should go around pointing that out. Better to just support people in their endeavors and what they've accomplished.

Men are afraid that liking a trans woman makes them gay. To be logically consistent, dating anybody makes you a pedophile; everyone used to be a child.

Haha, oh damn. I never thought of this as a rebuttal to the "no thanks; used to be a man" argument. Awesome.

That is flawed logic. It can't be helped if once you are told person x had a transition to another gender, that sexual desire is lost. It doesn't mean you are afraid to be labeled by others or yourself as gay. You are discounting a lot of other factors and just saying is a fear of gays thing. I'm sure a lot of people do think that way, but it isn't really fair to just lump everybody with that reasoning.

What is it with the people coming out with the fact they have messy rooms in this thread. So disappointing,

Mine is a a paradigm of cleanliness.

From what I understand having a messy bed prevents bedbugs.

Dax your transformation is damn good, it would be almost a miracle for anyone to assume you werent born a female physically. Here's hoping you're at the next la GAF meet up (if someone manages to arrange one :/ )

Does it help if I change it to 'some men'? I'm being (mostly) facetious anyway, being serious in trans threads is a recipe for disaster for me.

Well, I think the fact that nobody can tell unless I tell then is itself pretty remarkable.

And I'm not a fan of the transformation posted in the OP. She looks like a girl, yeah, but she looks fake from a surgical standpoint.

Hmm, I guess I'm in the minority but I could always tell from pictures you posted.

I think the pedo comment might be my queue to leave this thread.

Eh. Impressive in the sense that the transformation seems to have achieved a very culturally influenced ideal of beauty, but that's more a success of plastic surgery than the SRS specifically. That said, it's hard to have a strong measure for success with my little knowledge of anatomy.

On another note, it's really sad to see how common the whole "oh lord this makes me so confused" thing is on gaf. It's hard to swallow such provincialism in such a place.

Also my bedroom is goddamn pristine.

I do admit my word choice was a poor one, but as I said my thought process wasn't aimed at her transformation but more the statement in the title. I guess you can say that's very roundabout way of looking at it, but if the title said, "Look at this remarkable transformation," and I would've been like, "Hell yeah it is!" I also probably would've added that some transgender folks on GAF have had some remarkable transitions. TransGAF posts pictures but they don't go around saying, "My transition is probably the most remarkable."

See the difference?

I will if someone manages to make one!

but if they got a news article about them i don't think you'd been saying that.
