I think so. League of Legends is pretty much mainstream, and it's far more difficult to play than any Souls game.

Flaw in your logic. LoL is difficult at higher levels but you can have 5 bad people against 5 bad people and have an even match.

Sony didn't have to play anything. The system was selling out everywhere. No point in releasing your big guns if you don't need to.

Gonna cast my vote in the "disagree" pile. Queen hah a landmark sound and Mercury was an incredible vocalist. He inspired any number of musicians and artists--politically, or otherwise--even in death, which, sadly, is often when one's gifts are most recognized.
Time to downgrade the graphics on level 3.
Or Sony realized how TGS could also be called the Tokyo Mobile Games Show and it's just misplaced there in this day and age

Most people don't have the patience to replay the same sections over and over.
They're used to checkpoints every 10 seconds or being able to save anywhere, not getting their asses sent to the beginning of an area and doing it all over again and again.
It requires patience and commitment, I don't think something like this will ever become mainstream in the true sense of the word.
For me, half the fun is imagining what sort of levels we have from those tiny glimpses of footage.
I like that screen tear. it properly emulates how Project Beast looks in the trailers.
DS2 as a reason for announcement delay makes sense

They really aren't that clunky other than the turning speed, but making them fast paced would make them something other than King's Field. The PS 1 games play just fine, KF IV is great but the turn speed there is pretty absurd.
I beat KF and IV recently, for the first time, so this isn't nostalgia talking. KF (really KF 2) especially holds up just fine as is once you get past the pre-analog stick controls.

I don't see how gaining speed would alter what kings field is. Balance it and it won't be an issue.
The funny thing about this gif from the movie Cruising, is according to the director (Friedkin) it's based on real shit the NYPD did in the 70s, the rationale being if someone told the judge about it, they'd sound like they were making it up.
This has nothing to do with project beast, of course, hah.

As for Project Beast not showing up at TGS as presumably planned, I always saw that as a competitive response more then anything else.

It was complete satire of the people who are nitpicking it.
Have you played it? it plays just fine other than the turn speed, which I agree should be increased. They are not as clunky as people think they are.
EDIT: and methodical pace is part of what makes both King's Field and the Souls have their own vibe instead of being more like DMC... so I don't want them to be super zippy; if it took less time to turn around or had a quick turn option, I'd be perfectly happy if all else was the same.

sigh, so I'm at page 102 and I still see this controlled leak crap...you people are extremely annoying. Let me tell you about controlled leaks. I have them, about 5 to 7 a day to be honest.
It starts as I wake up in the morning and I take a controlled leak, then a few hours later I do another controlled leak as the coffee works it's way through me. A few hours later after lunch and another coffee has worked it's way through me I do another controlled leak. Once again a few hours after that as I just have a few hours left at work I have another controlled leak accompanied by a dump(nothing beats getting paid to drop a deuce) but do it quick, don't be a time waster). Come home, prepare dinner, eat that dinner, play some games, prepare for bead and do another controlled leak. Middle of the night, guess what? Yet another controlled leak.
And that people is the only controlled leaks you should care about. The rest is pure conjuncture.
Ps. Sometimes I have another poop or an extra or no time to do a controlled leak at work but this is the gist of it.

I already said this, but I'd like to see more technology, albeit technology that plays into the dark old feel and references the luddite fear of industrialization. Demon's Souls 2-1 is the closest thing we have to that.

hmm, so in other words a more "steam punk" based technology world? As in an alternate setting to the modern progression perhaps? Not without progression but instead of the Wright brothers happening the Counts vision would hold fast?
I myself would love to see a fantasy setting where Da Vincis invention was perhaps the norm. as his limited vision of the future still held fantastic views of what would be. This is perhaps a better setting than the late 1800s.
