Prominent youtuber KSI censors video from Videogamer.com critquing him

so, microsoft hired a guy who had the following exchange with a woman:

"what are you doing not fingering yourself?"

"pardon?!"

"What, I'm being nice to you!" (as woman walk off confused)

*proceeds to make obscene gesture at woman with fingers and tongue*

just those lads and their banter

Sounds like something Bodybuilding/misc. would treasure.

Watched his antics. He is a decent actor but his questions are really bad:

"where are your boobs?" to a woman without large breasts. That's both mean-spirited AND sexually harassing.

"What are you doing when you're not fingering yourself?" Not ok to say to a woman, also sexually harassing.

One woman let him motorboat her (because he's a good looking guy). That was unexpected.

Women are weird.

Microsoft and EA hired the Rape faces guy? ...why?
Also the sexualy harsment video was shocking...how the hell he was not kicked out?

What? That's obvious and that's not the point

That's not really the issue, is it?

Then the point/issue in mentioning that, as it pertains to the specific way that KSI was hired by Microsoft, is ... ?

He was doing a musical performance, btw, not being hired as the face of Microsoft

He was banned from the event.

Taken from the other thread:

Wow, Matts concern for Microsoft is really touching. he's so concerned for their well being he's taken the time to record, edit and publish a video expressing his worry that a youtube personality has made a video 18 months ago and had some humour that was unsavoury 18 months ago. It is so touching the concern that he has for this giant corporation, I bet he isn't even getting any benefit from this at all! God bless you mate.

And totalbiscuit calling the guy a twat, for objectifying women? Classy and not even slightly ironic.

The fuck. Someone on EG posted a Googlecache link to one KSI's tweets from July that he's apparently deleted in the last hour or so.

Classy.

Guys also he gets flown out to a champions league game too apparently.

And he plays real footballers on fifa due to BT sports. Please BT drop this cunt.

He's a classless dick with a grandeur complex.

That's about it.

Oh and his FIFA videos aren't nearly as funny or clever as he thinks they are.

Wow. I hadn't ever heard of this guy before but after reading this thread and seeing the videos I can honestly say he's a real prick. I'm just floored at his behavior.

Eh, I have no problem with the tweet. That's your typical shock "comedy".

The problem with the Eurogamer Expo video was that he was basically sexually harassing women in a public place.

What? So in your opinion, it's shitty and hypocritical that someone in the industry might find the idea of treating women like shit abhorrent?

Fuck me...

We don't do grayscale here, only black and white is allowed. If you're okay with sexualization of female videogame characters (which is a bold claim to begin with), you're okay with men threatening random women on the street with rape.

Shock comedy is best contained to a controlled environment. When you go do it in public, specially to someone who is not familiar with you, is honestly a form of harassment imo.

So basically someone took video from his youtube channel, put some commentary up, and TB and other people else thinks that is okay?

I've see the footage from his youtube... so what is he hiding? Sounds like someone tried to rip off his content and he got it struck rightfully so. Why does TB think it is okay just because it is criticism. Would he be okay if I just mirrored his channel and all the work he does and just put up some commentary of my own? I think not.

Seriously, TB has shown himself to be clueless in regards to copyright. He isn't fighting for anything other than his continued ability to make money doing commentaries over other people's hard work.

You might want to research "Fair use" before you accuse somebody else of being clueless about copyright.

Nope. Someone made a video calling out KSI for his misogyny and downright scummy nature, saying that it was wrong that big companies were using someone like this for promotion. They usied a few clips from one of his videos to do so and he had it taken down for copyright claims. And, the person that made the video doesn't have a monetised YouTube account.

You are assuming I don't know about fair use. I know plenty about fair use and I know how TB tosses the doctrine around without supporting his position.

A few clips is all that is necessary to violate someone's rights. It doesn't matter if the video is monetized or not. Every reuploaded vid has been removed that I have seen. I have only seen the clips in KSI's youtube channel.

You're completely missing the point.

You probably shouldn't make shocking jokes on twitter unless you have enough clout to be on, say, the Tonight Show. Maybe wait until you are Louis C.K. tier.

What? So in your opinion, it's shitty and hypocritical that someone in the industry might find the idea of treating women like shit abhorrent?

Fuck me...

I'm guessing your reality gets a little warped if you read too much material on something, such as "misogyny in videogames". Oersted is lost to an invisible war, no time to reason with the enemy.

Except from the fact that if you search "ksi awkward eurogamer" into YouTube the first three posts that come up are re-posts...

I meant the reuploaded video of the "critique" that has all the content from KSI removed. I've only seen it on his channel and now other channels. I was trying to say I haven't seen the original content that got a copyright violation.

I didn't see the original version, but if this video is the same except for the sections where it says "removed due to copyright claim by KSI", then they just took clips and didn't just talk over an entire video of his.

Yeah I saw that version. I agree with the message generally.

Regarding the other topic, it doesn't have to be the entire video. Clips can be enough if they take enough from the original material.
