It's a terrible slogan.
It's a terrible slogan.
Agreed. That sounds like a recipe for direct escalation to bloodshed.
I guess this is acceptable.
It's a play on words as if love always beats hate, therefore love trumps hate.
I guess this is acceptable.
It was the same protest. We marched from Union Square to Trump Tower.
How is it anti-Trump ? Trump is a positive word here.
Hillary's campaign really should've left Trump's name out of her slogan.
Maybe they're counting on the fact that Trump & Hate are close together so it gains some negative association, while Love is on the other end of the phrase.
I have no idea.
Wait...that's an official slogan of the Clinton campaign?
Incompetence all round.
Love Trumps Hate was the big one along with I'm With Her.
They both sound like you are settling.
I'd say "Love Trumps Hate" is worse, considering it appears to actively promote her opposition. It gets worse when you imagine how many people probably agreed to that and signed it off.
I'm sure he wants it the fucking authoritarian prick
I don't understand why Clinton thought it was smart to have so many slogans that were about Trump. In hindsight, Clinton's messaging really was too based around "settle for me."
Why is this a common deflection?
It's not a deflection, I just feel like this is Brexit all over again and some of these protestors may have realized they fucked up a bit too late by not voting when they should have.

What makes you think they didn't vote? I mean, a lot of democrats did vote(not nearly enough, mind you), and many of these protests are happening in blue states.

Do the red flags they're sending up need to actually have swastikas on them before everyone realizes what we're dealing with?
I still hope France won't fall this low.
Straight to the point.
Yeah that Love Trumps Hate slogan is pretty terrible. Even if you can get the thought behind it.
Stick to savage statements of protest, such as FUCK TRUMP. It's messy and crude, but the guy doesn't deserve any better.

I bet you've never been prouder of your countrymen (countrypersons?)!
She's a comedian, as is this guy. They are both funny, but in reality I'm much more concerned about Orange boys attempts to shut down renewable energy attempts here. Obviously he doesn't give a shit about global warming, and that is a huge issue. My post above was more about agreeing the Love Trumps Hate slogan isn't very good.

It's a terrible slogan.
I wonder what will happen once the KKK does its parade...
Because if it was near me it'd be so fucking out of myself and would go out there and stop in front of all of them, ready to fight until my uncouncious body is found on the ground.
This is so surreal.
A reporter on CNN was reporting live last night while walking with one of the protest marchers, and he started asking them questions such as who they voted for.
One of the two people he talked to was a guy that started talking about how the election was stolen or some-such stuff, and when asked to clarify he revealed he meant it was stolen from Bernie Sanders. When asked if he had voted for Hillary, he said absolutely not. Same for if he had voted for Trump. The reporter then asked him if he thought that maybe voting for Hillary would have helped, and he said no.
The reporter instantly shut down the conversation and moved away. My wife, her parents, and I all burst out laughing. It was both hilarious and sad.
The guy of course was young and white. It's those that are likely to be minimally affected that can sit back and talk as if they have the moral high ground as things go to shit.
People are terrible at collective responsibility. They always seem to assume someone else will take care of things if they don't want to/don't feel like it. This is what helped Trump win.

What state did he live in? If it's a blue state that she carried, then this doesn't make sense.
Turkish government issues US travel advisory after anti-Trump protests
Washington (CNN)The Turkish government warned Turkish citizens in the United States or considering traveling to the US to "be careful due to protests" following the election of Donald Trump.
The advisory did not specifically mention Trump but said the unrest began after Tuesday's elections.
"Sometimes the protests turn violent and criminal while protesters (are) detained by security forces," the ministry of foreign affairs said Saturday, adding that "racists and xenophobic incidents increased in USA."
"Considering the risks, we advise our citizens living and traveling to US to follow local media, to follow the warning of our embassy in Washington and American security forces, to stay away from protests, to increase their security in work space and to apply to local security when there is a racist or xenophobic attack while keeping calm," the statement added.
The US State Department issued a travel warning for US citizens going to Turkey late last month, citing increased threats from terrorist groups.
Regardless, it's the attitude amongst some democratic voters to abstain that helped Trump win, and I very much doubt that is a sentiment limited to that individual or state.

Sure. But how could he have helped her and why did the reporter shut the interview down because he didn't vote for her? That's what didn't make sense to me. I voted for Hillary in a blue state and didn't get the outcome I wanted which was giving a woman a shot to lead despite her issues.
He could've voted for Hillary and it's highly likely that the outcome would be the same as it is today. Donald Trump is US President-elect.
