I'm bored so here's my ranking of Vita games I've played so far.

S Tier
Metal Gear Solid qHD Collection
Rayman Origins

A Tier
Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention
Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational
Unit 13

B Tier
Lumines Electronic Symphony
Uncharted: Golden Abyss

C Tier
Gravity Rush

Okay I lied, I just wanted to say how bad Gravity Rush is. It's cool for the first hour or two, then the novelty wears off and the game becomes boring. Combat is really clunky. Would not recommend.

On average how much is everyone getting out of their battery on the Vita? I have everything pretty much turned off except for wireless. I also power down the Vita after I am done instead of putting it in sleep mode. Between last night and today, I've played about 1.5 hrs on it and I am at half a battery.

It seems like I'm getting about 3 hours off of full charge.

I kind of agree with this. Its interesting and introduces a novel concept, but I feel like it just falls off a cliff after a few hours of gameplay. If a sequel ends up being developed, I hope this can be remedied.

Depends. What game are you playing? I can get around 3-4 hours playing Uncharted, while, on the other hand, I can play a PSP game for 6 or a tad bit more.

I think it would depend on the game. e.g. Uncharted probably last like 3-4 hours, whereas something like Treasures of Montezuma Blitz would last 5+

Fixed that for ya.

I have Final Fantasy 7-9, Crash Bandicoot 1-3 and Grandia ready.

I would like the following to be available on EU PS1 Classics:
Xenogears
Suikoden 1 and 2
Chrono Cross
Alundra
Breath of Fire IV
Vandal Hearts 1 and 2
Tomba
Klonoa
Ape Escape
Strider 2
Brave Fencer Musashi
Lunar Eternal Blue

Also still so many PSP games that need digital version:
Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep
FFVII: Crisis Core
Tales of Eternia
Star Ocean 1 and 2
Valkyrie Profile

Would love Suikoden 2 on EU PSN, that game is the rarest of em all.

Gravity Rush>Unit 13. If gravity rush is repetitive, U13 is repetitive^2.

Yeah, no. You upgrade your powers and get better at playing the game, making it even better than in the beginning. There's a bit too much fighting near the end and a couple of the enemy types are a bit annoying to fight against, but they do change things up a bit with the escort, fire extinguishing, stalking etc. missions.

And Lumines goes to AT LEAST A tier.

Where is the last level in Puddle? It says 48/49 levels completed after i've beaten the game. Pretty cool game by the way, good variation in the levels.

Felt the same way about GR. Just not enjoyably repetitive. I haven't played Unit 13, but when something repeats itself (almost every game does in some way), it needs to be repeatably fun.
GR could have been massively greater with some more creativity.

Don't know if this has been mentioned or discussed in this thread, but I found it interesting. (And a bit frustrating as well):

On the most recent Playstation blogcast, Nick Suttner mentioned in passing that PS1 support for Vita was coming "this fall." He was then corrected by Sid Shuman (I think it was Sid) that they were actually calling it "late summer." Now, to me, that sounds like September.

So don't count on the PS1 patch to come out during Gamescom.

More fuel for the anti-Vita crowd. I'm sure we'll see a thread all about it if no PSone support shows up at Gamescon.

Anyways I finally completed Uncharted GA last night. Fantastic game, but if they ever do a sequel I hope they do away with the swiping prompts during fist fights. Started another game on hard, but my new focus will be on Gravity Rush.

I think it's likely that they'll do a sequel since it's already sold over half a million copies which i assume is fairly good for a game of this scale(it seems to reuse many uncharted assets),if they do a sequel there will be a big improvement in the visuals that's for sure

If I were Sony, I would try to get as many developers to make games of the classic IPs they're bringing into the spotlight in All-Stars. But that's just me.

I actually quite enjoy replaying levels in Unit 13. There's different ways to approach each situation. I've been trying to beat each level without raising an enemy's alert level to flashing red. The enemy patterns are kind of simple, so you just have to be patient. But quietly picking everyone off one by one is so much more satisfying than just mowing them down in a firefight.

Meh, I'm a few hours into GR and just not feeling it. It's not getting better and I just don't want to keep playing. Not seeing much variety yet either. Meh.

Lumines would be A tier if it had online play.

I agree GR could have been better but wasn't bad at all if you gave it a chance and got better.

@Kazerei - [re: online play for lumines]..I guess but I doubt most people would appreciate that for it to be worth not coming out at launch or any delay really. It was always heavily focussed on the single player experience and it shouldn't take too much away, but of course online option is always a plus. Competition is a bit of a different experience to the main game I think where you can appreciate more of the game. I tried it with a friend locally, it wasn't bad though. Couldn't hurt it add it and possibly some funner modes true!

What it could definitely use is puzzle mode (for fan service) and a retry button (and possibly even more skins (hopefully)). Still makes it one of my favourite. Right up there with wipeout. It is an EASY (jump right in) time kill.

More enjoyable after a while if you sort through the skins you don't really like and make your own playlist - once the rest of the game gets boring for you - which should be quite easy if you did the trophy like you were meant to :) (not rush through it like some would for the 100%).
The core gameplay though, is so successful imo for a puzzle game. The music works so well to immerse you while playing. I find it hard to put down.

-=-=-=-

Apparently Activision has the Crash Bandicoot IP. Kickstarter to buy it back lol? Every decent pledge gets a free psn code for a Crash Bandicoot 4 vita exclusive [dear diary].

You have a point about that, I forgot to edit it in "also if you take a break and go gem hunting..quite often like I did". It's a shame more wasn't done with that to add replayability but I assume it means a quick sequel is on the way.

It did a decent job to generate interest but definitely could have used a little something else (like 3 months of development just to make it funner/replayable...instead of dlc imo - not sure the challenges really do that).

Saying that it's not that easy to think of other things they could have done...or is it? I'm curious, none come to mind easily atm but I'm quite eh well tired.

I felt it was a little strange at first but it got better. Though recently just found myself loading old saves and going gem hunting while playing with the mechanics...especially on short play throughs.
Once that's done...what else is there really..they could have done a gravity rush mini games or like ffx did with blizterball i forget the name...that would have been insane to come up with and do though hah. I was a little let down by the first but still looking forward to the next one - while hoping they can improve on it quite a bit. Having said that the game mechanics are so fun that I definitely do recommend it to everyone as it is still a great game to play. I just want more of it! I hated the slide though really. Just felt chaotic and clunky. Maybe the camera angle had something to do with it.

Atm I see the combat as craft like with ninja gaiden that would take a few playthroughs to get some skill/grace with. Doesn't seem too bad, but here's hoping that is possible! Items are always cool too. Summons...turn it into ff lol...

sorry edited this post quite a few times just adding more sentences..while you guys carried on in the real world.

Oh yeah, that's other thing. No puzzle mode or mission mode :(

At its core, yeah Lumines ES is a great game. But as a sequel, kind of disappointing.

Yes, like some other games, could have been more. But unlike some others, as it is now, it is great fun and very useful in your game inventory. Such a useful gameplay. Tetris type games usually are and this just pulls of tetris really well.

I also want tetris for vita lol.

There's a Tetris mini you can get I believe.

Would put Gravity Rush A tier. Great first try hope they get another chance.

Why do people rate Uncharted GA so low. It's got great production values and a wonderful single player a better one than U3 at the least. Is it replay value and no multiplayer?

They still have Jak & Daxter, Ape Escape, and Sly.

How there is no Ape Escape game still boggles my mind.

It's true, but Crash was SO huge back then, almost a family name. Bringing that back would easily have the hype behind it to be a big hitter..especially on the vita. Platformers, especially like crash bandicoot which isn't all that complex - just suit the vita so well. It could look really stunning.

I've never heard of Sly Cooper before but I'm picking it up as it looks like good fun but the child in me would love a crash bandicoot sequel. I'm sure a lot of people feel like that too. It seems doable, must be obvious to them. If the COD deal goes well, hopefully activision might be less strict if that's what is holding sony back (as well as recent finances).

It was telling in their press release about the vita being a way to access a new market. That's pretty bullshit. They were hoping to bring back players. It's a possibility given that it has the potential to be a decent system seller if done right.

I think it was the touch screen mini-games being repetitive and non-native res? I'm planning on picking it up retail actually.

-==-=-=-=-=-=-=

About the tetris mini being EA, anyone tried it?

Yeah Gravity Rush is definitely A tier as well. Not sure any of them would be less then that....maybe...u13......I haven't played Unit 13! but someone said it was super repetitive.

As someone with a vita the only franchise represented from the leaked roster I saw that I'd want to see on vita in the slightest is valkiyria chronicles.

Is it true that I can get the PS3 trophies for Motorstorm too without even playing it? You get them on Vita first without touching the ps3 version, and then sync them on ps3?

I could go for a new Sir Dan/MediEvil on the Vita!

For PASBR? There's no better source because SuperBot said it was true, but the leaks didn't include everything in the game. Here's the topic about the leaks.

No I meant about the Sony franchises LuchaShaq mentioned just above but thanks for the All-stars leak, didn't even know about that. Doesn't seem all that enticing for me personally. But I can see it doing alright...hopefully. Two gameplay things too - no damage representation (does it not matter then?), no pitfalls? Pretty gimped..

If i'm not mistaken to get the secret level you have to beat the game and then go into the credits screen to type this in:
X, X, Square, O, O, O, Triangle

And here i go to finally try God Eater Burst on my vita. Hope it's cool.

Is everyone using a screen protector on their Vita? Just wondering how scratch resistant the glass is on it.

I used a protector on my Desire HD for about a year then took it off and it's still good as new so I'm wondering if it's worth the hassle to put one on it. Also, a touch screen with a protector never feels as good as without it.

Yes the ps3 version is a "different" set of trophies to count towards your trophy level, but they are exactly the same across both versions.

Sync your vita trophies, then boot up Motorstorm on your PS3 and get ready for the trophy show...pop pop pop, one after the other.. You will get another platinum (or how ever many trophies you have unlocked on the vita) in 20 seconds without even trying.

I don't use screen protectors or even a case, I just have an old but really soft toque that I put the Vita in when I put it my bag (just so random things like coins or headphones don't scratch it). I don't have a single scratch on the front but I do somehow have a scratch or two on the back of it, on the touch area. I don't mind that so much since I never look at the back of it.

I put a screen protector on mine because it got a really tiny scratch and I got paranoid.

No screen protector for me. It's got a tiny scratch on my screen and it's a little irritating, but I deal with it.
