itxaka said:Really? It was a long time since I entered the plaza so maybe I still had the old one from the beta or something?
Does your paza have a big screen on it with grass under it?
industrian said:What do you mean "Plaza?" It's an alien word to me. The Home Square?

Epcott said:Home is actually a lot more lively than usual, and actually fun to be in. I needs more Namco items!

Why is it more fun to be in now? Is it because of the amount of people inside?

I'm very curious because I'm involved in the MMO business.
I imagine that's a huge part of whether or not something like this seems fun or engaging. I know that when I played MMOs -- some of the highlights for me is when the game is in its infancy, and the newbie zones are abuzz with activity. Once the game is a few years old, the newbie zones aren't nearly as fun to play through.gantz85 said:Why is it more fun to be in now? Is it because of the amount of people inside?

The splash message on Home says it'll be down from 5am to 7am ET, and afterwards it'll officially be in Open Beta.Remy said:3PM PST / 6PM EST is what I recall seeing earlier.
theinfinityissue said:you know, I realized just now that I know absolutely nothing about Home. I mean I've seen stuff all around for it, but I've never been too clear on exactly what there was to "do", and I'm not trolling. So, I'm actually super excited to try it out tomorrow, especially since I have no idea what it is.
I'm envisioning my own personal room that looks like Silent Hill. That would be pretty awesome. Oh! I'd also like a little hill with some trees on it to sit on and listen to some ambient techno or something. Just a program that I can completely zone out to. Is that kind of experience possible, or is it just a bunch of douchey dork-bags staggering around some advertisements?

Beta/Better Readers,
Can I have my friend in my apartment to watch a movie or something while we chat? I remember that being discussed once upon a time and that actually sounds appealing.
Thanks for any info.

You can go back to your place though I believe.

Wollan said:Just checked out the Hexus auditoriums in the Home Theatre (EU) and surprise surprise, right now they were hosting a series of PC building shows. Right now it's about how to silence and cool down your rig. Didn't expect this. When one show finished it automatically downloaded the next show or part. Draft has infiltrated Home confirmed.

Gaborn said:Anybody else wondering if they're doing this to distract from the NPD release of numbers? (in terms of the timing of the release, thursday is kind of an odd day for it afterall)

androvsky said:I dunno... my sarcasm meter isn't even twitching here. You do realize Thursday is the traditional "add new shit to the PSN" day, right?
Sony updates the US PSN store between 5-7pm est. How is that an amusing coincidence?Gaborn said:I was mostly being sarcastic, but the timing is a little ironic, I mean, heck, the release we get is at 6:30 eastern time even. Still though, probably not. I'm sure at this point Sony wants to make sure it's out and stable as quickly as possible and this thursday was a good day to do it since it's an update day, it is a pretty amusing coincidence though.

People in the US beta should have access to it around 8am est. If all goes well with the server downtime.TuxBobble said:Just wondering...is there any word on what time the download will go up? AM vs. store-update time vs. anything else?
ALSO, is someone making a NeoGAF club? I want in!!! (I might consider making it, except I don't know what it takes to be a club leader--don't know if I can handle that kind of responsibility lol)
i agree, i think its easier to meet random friendly people on home rather than in-game. There are quite a few annoyances with some of the people, but its the internet.GSG Flash said:I'm looking forward to trying this, it's an interesting concept and it might be a fun way to chat with my friends instead of using just a boring chat window.
If I recall, those were to be opened at some later date.msdstc said:Psyched about this!! Hopefully it opens up al the gamespaces and whatnot tomorrow.
If you got on even this late you were lucky.Byakuya769 said:.. was home supposed to go down this early?
Gaborn said:Just because this Thursday is an NPD Thursday. It obviously is just a random coincidence, but it's still funny. 3/4 thursdays in November are not NPD thursdays, Home happens to fall on the one that is. Is it some grand conspiracy by Sony to distract from NPD? of course not, but it's still interesting, and I'm still glad they're releasing it sooner rather than later.
