Do you have Prime? I have it and still being delivered November 11th. The website and customer service told me it´s going to release on November 7th.
Yup I have prime. I’m guessing they’re not getting stock until a few days after launch, had this happen previously. I ordered right when it was available.

I'll repost this here for visibility..

My Amazon order says the 11th too.

With that said, I've ordered from Amazon for multiple consoles and this has happened before (it did with PSVR 2 and PS5) a few days before they changed it to the day it released and I got it that day.

Who knows, but let's hope this is the case here.

I think you can have concerns around pricing, especially that region. But to wish for it to fail? Too extreme for me as gamers will be enjoying it.
If it doesn’t fail catastrophically here it’s going to send a very nasty message to Sony that we’re going to regret in very few years. In NA is fairly priced, IMO.

I am intrigued to see the numbers and official sales update vs ps4 pro launch as looking at UK retail and running some quick maths, it seems most retailers aren't much over 1k pre orders per retailer in the UK.

If their websites are to be trusted with the x sold in the last month or x sold in the last 48 hour, anyway.
I love you Dench even though you’re one of the biggest trolls on here 😂

How have you just made up these numbers out of complete thin air. Just running some quick maths, fuck outta here 😂

Those trackers that show the public how much items have sold are not to be trusted as an indication of sales. I don’t think Sony really care how many of these sell anyway, these are a precursor to show what the PS6 will be capable of in terms of upscaling tech.

I respect voting with your wallet and waiting for sales/bundles further down the road. But doing what Dench is doing, which is undermining it at every turn and going out of his way to try and find fault, yeah I've no respect for that.

In the latest DF video John quickly mentioned the plates being compatible. (around 13:50)

Bit of an off the cuff comment. I'm just adding this to the "yes" column. Someone on reddit linked an Amazon Japan compatibility chart that showed that yes the drive worked, but not the plates. At the end of all this a lot of people will be right and a lot wrong, the only thing that's for sure is that the people that were wrong will have a real good one liner to dismiss their error.

Mine would be "It's ok. I'm a married man, I am used to being wrong"

Regarding the plates : the pro has that adidas triple "stripe" section , meaning, plates would have to be different to fit on it since the amateur slim model has a very thin "stripe" section - that's what my common sense tells me at least 😉

Unless the extra stripes area counts for the extra length/height of the Pro vs the slim. We know the disc section is the same for example. I'm not convinced either way though.

You're dying for this to fail. Try being happy for people. Its a cracking bit of kit from what we've seen so far.

I think you can have concerns around pricing, especially that region. But to wish for it to fail? Too extreme for me as gamers will be enjoying it.

I personally have issues with it being called the pro and it doesn't have a disk drive when 82 percent of ps5s are the disk drive version. If it included the disk drive I'd be a bit chirpier about it.

The fact the disk drives are sold out everywhere in UK and Europe sucks. Plus the price is ridiculous in gbp and Europe.

So no, I don't want the pro to fail overall. I want a message to be sent to Sony which I hope is considerably less sales than the ps4 pro, so it might make them rethink their pricing and what should be included in a pro version console. It should have all the bells and whistles imo.

Plus, I am generally interested to see how a 700 pound console performs that's missing the above.

Most of my amazon orders got delayed. I pre-ordered DBZ sparking zero ultimate edition. and they shipped it after 3 days after the game released.

For anyone interested in the pro UK online retailer very has a promotion 10% cashback on selected gaming products i just tried it on the pro and it worked so cancelled my preorder with Amazon and gone with very hope this helps
I pre-ordered with Playstation Direct but took a look at the Very offer - it does state that Playstation consoles are excluded from the offer, and it wouldn't apply the voucher when I tested it. Good for you if you managed to get the offer before they fixed that - I'm assuming their system had the PS5 as an exclusion but they hadn't updated it for the PS5 Pro at that point! But for me I'd be concerned they'll cancel it at some point before the 7th? Not sure I'd have taken it even it had gone through after reading that specific exclusion in their terms, because it gives them the right to do that at any point.

Then again, stock isn't an issue apparently so worse case is they cancel on you the day before and you just buy somewhere else. (y)

I tried after I read your post so I guess half an hour or so ago? It just comes up 'The promotion code WELCOME is invalid' now. It's a nice saving for you if they honour the promotion!

I used code VY9VW
hmmmm that code works on some of their products, but just tried it on the Pro and it accepts it, adds the 12month deferred payment option, but doesn't take anything off the total! But thanks for sharing, it would have been a decent saving and I have used Very before without issues.

It's not supposed to take it off immediately it's credited back to your account a few weeks after dispatch I've used similar promos percentage cashback deals don't reflect immediately if they don't honour it or cancel order I'll just get from somewhere else I don't think stock is gonna be problem widely available here

Very also has code TREAT30 for 30 pounds off that's credited to account straight away

What are you guys talking about? 99% of electronics in the USA are 1 year warranty.
I'm in the UK where it's only one year for consumer electronics and the EU get 2 years.

I get cover for all eventualities for everything anyway. Pretty repugnant though only having a years warranty on a £700 console though.

How?
They end up making the "available" space the same as in the slim. Unless there are some weird shapes underneath, they should fit, just as the drive does.

C'mon man...
Say each plate (left and right) is 20cm wide each and they're , say, 1cm apart as to show the "stripe" on the slim, how are they gonna fit on the pro where the triple stripe is obviously bigger in width ? Where are they going to attach/clip ?
Also : the PS5 slim is smaller than the pro in length.

Then there's this video :

It's Sony, they're gonna find a way to milk some extra moolah for the Pro plates 😉

You do know that the Slim has 4 separate plates, right?

PS5 Pro: H: 10.4cm | W: 35.8cm
PS5 Slim: H: 9.6cm | W: 35.8cm
Only 0.8cm difference. I bet the stripes are 'exactly' that size :messenger_beaming:

Here's a video showing how it works on the Slim. There's nothing there that can't be done on the Pro, IMHO.

My question is... Why do you care so much?

Is $225 a good asking price for a launch PS5 disc with no controller? I'm gonna have my wife put up one of my PS5'S on her Facebook, not on the marketplace but for her friends list. I don't need it since the pro is coming and I have another one in the living room.

Is that a fair price?

I just tested out very code TREAT30 and the 10 percent one at very and it worked but it didn't say anything about getting 10 percent back. Also, it said in the 10 percent code ts and cs you can't use two codes together.

That's a shame because that would be 100 pounds off and I'd be tempted.

Trading in consoles in the UK is a dead market it seems.

Most companies are paying you garbage prices that it's just not worth it, and your better off selling it your self through ebay.
I sold my launch PS5 Disc Edition very quickly on Gumtree for a good price. I agree about the abysmal trade in offers from companies here in the UK.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
Looking at the preorder page I just realized that the PS5 Pro only comes with a 1 year warranty?
I was expecting at least 2 or 3 years... isn't that super low?
The original PS5 also only has a one-year warranty

Source: me, who tried to get Sony to repair my PS5 in 2021 the day after it was out of warranty

Or just buy cheaper plates on amazon?

I'm on the fence with this until 100% confirmed. However we do know that the disc drive package that comes with its own plates, fits both the Pro and the slim. So your logic is already flawed.

For current PS5 owners: Is the stand required if I'm going situate the console horizontally?
We're assuming it comes complete with two feet which clip into the upper mid section, so horizontally you'll be fine OOTB. The stand is solely for vertical, which is different from OG PS5.

Does anyone know if very uk would honour both the 30 pound discount and 10 percent back...because 100 pounds off is basically getting me the disk drive and a little stretch for the stand at 700 pounds.

I feel more comfortable with that deal...but I should be saving for a new gpu in January
