Place the fix folder in PSP/GAME
Make sure you back up all your current save data before you run this just in case.
Then run it like an app after a second or two it will say "Done!"
Try your game out! Can't say this is 100% though but it worked for my Final Fantasy I save.

Do you still have this file? I tried to download it but it says the link doesn't work anymore... I stupidly tried out Prometheus 4 and now my save game files are corrupt :(

Alright, so I got God of War: Ghost of Sparta to rip properly and have an ISO. It worked, things were good.

Then at one point, it froze on the loading screen. I quit to the home screen and tried to play again and it won't work. I don't get the red flash that tells me Prometheus is working its magic.

I tried reinstalling the CFW and Prometheus (I was at 5.50 Prome-3) and it still doesn't work. I'm downloading Prome-4, but I'm not optimistic. Any suggestions? If nothing else, I've heard something about patching ISOs? How does that work, and would it mean that I can play my game despite the fact that Prometheus is failing?

EDIT: Alright, more symptoms: Prome-4 didn't work. I went into the recovery menu and saw that I had a plugin called Stargate that was disabled; I vaguely recalled it being necessary, so I tried enabling it. With that plugin enabled, the PSP crashes whenever I try to load GoW:GoS. I disabled it once again.

Also, if I try to hit Select at the XMB to bring up the CFW menu that allowed me to dump the ISO via USB, nothing happens. Which seems weird and bad.

OK I got 5.50 Gen D3 Firmware, but have not ever installed Prometheus. I downloaded the latest Prometheus 4. How do I install it.

EDIT: nevermind, Googled it, simply move the folder to GAME

To my knowledge, there's still no way of performing KH:BbS' in-game data install.
But ripping it an ISO is just as effective as performing the largest in-game install, if not more so. You can easily run the game in high quality mode and enjoy greatly diminished loads on top of that.
Phoenixus said:
Yeah, game installing via that method doesn't work on CFW, I've tried it with BBS and Dissidia respectively. ISO-rip it, the rip will have a major loading and performance boost over the regular play. :)
Zaraki_Kenpachi said:
Installing how? I'm not quite sure what you mean by this. You mean the in game thing to install? Why not just rip the iso?
whoo! thanks for the feedback!!

but yah I jus ended up ripping the game, and prior to that I have never ripped a game before.

Im going crazy about how easy it is!! lol. I also didnt know u can push the select button on the PSP main page and have a secret menu pop up!!

but dang the game runs soooooo much faster ripped!!

Hawt! I wonder if it will let me play my PSN version of P3P....

Edit: and no :/
Is this why none of my PSN downloads work, and just give me the error code? I'm on the latest Prometheus.

I remember the PSP had a cheat app for cheating in PSP and PS1 games. Does anyone know where I can download this with the latest and up to date cheat list.

I did. I installed the newest Prometheus, Prome-4 or whatever. I just wanted to know if I could upgrade right from the old Prometheus.

Ah, ok. I was just afraid you missed the post for the newest version. :D

That and the battery life are the only reasons most of us use custom firmware. :lol Glad you got everything working like you should though. :D

Mind listing the titles that won't play so others can say if they are experiencing similar problems?

I haven't played my PSP in a long time. It's a PSP-2000 that I believe is currently running a later release of Dark-Alex's CFW from a long time ago. If I want to play some games but don't want to have to update to an OFW what is the new CFW I should update to? Is it this Prometheus thing I see you guys talking about?

Yup. If you're running old Dark Alex CFW, you're going to want to update to 5.00-M33, then 5.50 GEN-D3 Final, then from there to Prometheus-4.

Revert back to your previous custom firmware, this whole savegame encryption mess is so annoying to deal with. There are solutions to deal with it, but you have to go with a case by case basis for each of your saves.

Thanks, but any handy guides on how to do this properly? I just want to make sure Prometheus-4 is purged from my system.

So I really wanna play Tactics Ogre when it comes out in English (Feb. 15). Someone told me that there were problems with the Japanese version on his custom firmware PSP... do you think if I buy the retail disc from the US it'll be okay or do they have some kind of protection in it?

Kinda praying for a PSN release on this.

What kind of protection could be on the disk that's worse than psn protection?

I just encountered the same problem as the guy above... Updated to Prome-4 and all my saves are corrupted now. I put way too much time into Project Diva 2 to start over, man...

Hmm, from what I can understand, the reason my PSN copy of FF7 doesn't work is that the CFW is detected when downloading the game and the files are locked, to put it in a 'no idea about the technical terms kinda way'. Is there a plugin or something to bypass this check?

I've used PSNLover to get onto the store, and I've tried changing the version.txt to 6.35 to try and fool the download, but it doesn't seem to work. :/

Tried downgrading back to my old Prometheus firmware and my saves still don't work :( I really hope I didn't screw myself over with this. I only have 2 save files that I really care about, but if I can't get them back I doubt I'll play those games anymore...

So I just got a Go, and it's running 5.7. It seems like everything right now is being aimed at 6.2. Is t here any way to update this to 6.2 rather than 6.35?

Yes there is, google for 6.20 and make sure you download the PSP Go firmware because its not the same as the psp phat/slim.

Also The Hen 6.20 has a release window of 20-24 of this month, looks like CFW and not just a homebrew enabler! Hope someone makes an iso loader before i go on vacation next month.

Yes I do I will re-upload it to mediafire.

After going a little research I noticed there are different version of this fix.

5.03 Gen-C Savegame fix
- fixes that savegames are corupt or damaged
- Only for psp3000
- MADE BY LUCA00555

5.03 Gen-C Savegame fix
- fixes that savegames are corupt or damaged
- Only for psp2000
- MADE BY LUCA00555

5.50 Gen-D3 Savegame fix
- fixes that savegames are corupt or damaged
- Only for psp1000/2000
- MADE BY LUCA00555

Can't say for sure which one I have but I used this last on my 5.50 GEN-D PSP model 1001. So it may not work for PSP version 3000 or higher. Also just an FYI make sure you back up your saved games before use since I have no idea if this works with Prometheus.

Edit #2:

How does this Prometheus work? I'm on 5.50 GEN-D, do I just run the v4 download posted earlier or do I need to prep something first?

Edit #3:

N/M I got it. :D

Wouldn't start; it would show me the startup text about 'straining your eyes, yada yada', then revert back to the menu with an error message.

Doesn't matter now anyway, got fed up so I found an un-tethered version online, and that's going just fine. Way I see it, I bought a legit copy, even if the one I've ended up playing isn't. >.<

Alright, since I'm running out of options here (doing everything in my power to not be forced to buy a new PSP), I've just learned that it is possible to just output the PSP on a HDTV (which works will enough for me, since RemoteJoy on the PC is ridiculously slow and doesn't work for actual UMDs for some reason and I never actually take my PSP anywhere outside of my house). Provided that I buy a portable component cable from Radioshack/Wal-Mart/Target, can I just output to the TV with a homebrew firmware like GEN with no problems/lag?

I've tried some cables with my CFW-ed PSP Slim, and it definitely works. However, there is a little lag between button presses and the reaction onscreen, though I'm attributing that to them being cheap cables off eBay. And the image doesn't fill the whole of your TV screen, though you can fiddle around with your TV's Zoom settings to deal with that.

Is the reason you're considering a new unit because your screen's broken? If so, that sucks. :( (More so if you can't see the screen to navigate to the options segment that switches between the PSP screen and TV output. :/ )

Luckily, it's not the entire screen that's dead. Just about 1/4th of the right side of the screen is now filled with gray pixeliated garbage. My main plan was to buy a replacement LCD somewhere, but that Hong Kong shipper never came through. But hey, as long as there's not massive lag in the game itself like with RemoteJoy, I'm golden for awhile until I can muster enough cash to do a permanent solution.

Edit: it works! Brilliant - thank you :)

I just turned on my PSP for the first time! I am going away tomorrow and was going to set it up, automatically I updated to 6.35, I just realized that prometheus wont work for this firmware!!!

Can I wipe the PSP and start from scratch? I was really looking forward tonight to throw on some games, I did buy crisis core and the new MGS game but I don't want to carry around the UMDS....ugh did I just make a irreversible(for now) mistake?

Depends, I believe all psp 1000s and like half of all psp 2000s you can, but if you own a go or a recent normal psp your only bet is to wait till they release of 6.35 port of the 6.20 mod that comes out in a week.

Moved all my games/saves to 32 gb card and upgraded to Prom-4 and everything is all jacked up now. Saves are corrupted and Eye of Judgment PSP won't even load, is there a way to fix this or downgrade back to 5.50 Prom?

Look just a few posts up, a couple of us had the exact same problem. Download the save file fixer that was posted and follow the directions, it should work and fix all your saves.

Since I haven't actually upgraded myself yet: can I avoid having to futz around with save decorrupors or whatever by just backing up my saves to my PC before I upgrade and then restoring them afterwards, or is this a thing where I need to re-encrypt them to match the new CFW?

I tried that method (back up saves, then replace old saves after upgrade) and it did not work for me. I'm not sure if there's any way to not have to use the save file uncorrupter thing, but if in my opinion it's not really a big deal. It's easy to fix your saves and you get the advantage of having the upgraded Prometheus firmware. Do it! :D

All this is beginning to get a little confusing for me :\

Update after update, I have 3 MS full of junk that's probably messing the compatibility with all the games. Is there any filelist of what I should find inside my PSP after reinstalling 5.50 D and Prometheus 3?

IE: I have a stargate.prx plugin in seplugins folder that I thought was essential to prometheus. Comes out that after reinstalling as explained, I have to deactivate it to make everything work. Is it obsolete or what?

Also: is the version.txt trick still useful in any way? Should I deactivate the option and "clean" the txt file from the alterations?

And finally: what in hell are the "plain modules" and "execute boot.bin" options in the recovery mode? I had to play around with those to get KH Birth by Sleep to work, but still don't know the reasoning behind them.

Hey guys, I have a question. I know that a long time ago, a plugin that allowed you to save your games at any time was released. I think it was called PSP States or something like that. It was for m33 firmware, Slim only, and it was on beta. Whatever happened to that? Is it still being developed? Is it compatible with Prometheus firmware?

Can't you just load it from an iso, that'd fix the load times (according to the previous page).

No, just rip the ISO and run it off mem stick. That's actually the fastest way to run the game. You can basically play with highest visual settings enabled without any issues.

PSP Save States, IIRC. It was being developed by Dark-Alex. He had 2 versions of it. And I think Team Gen released their own build of version 2 that worked with their firmwares. Dark-Alex stopped developing on PSP and Team Gen has been silent for like a year now, so I don't really expect much in the way of active development from them.

Haven't been following the scene for a long time now, is this TN-A HEn 6.20 a new custom firmware or just an exploit to get those on 6.20 down to 5.50? If its the former, anyone know whether it will be similar to M33 and GEN?

StarEye

The Amiga Brotherhood
Long time since I've read anything in this thread, so forgive me if there's already a solution posted. But my kid has been playing with my CFW PSP for some time, and then suddenly everything that was on it was gone (a 16 gig filled to the brim I believe). Now, there's nothing stopping me from just putting them back on, but what's curious about this is that only the games and homebrew is gone, not the savegames? I thought at first that he had formatted the memory card by accident, but obviously the savegames would be gone too?

It's really odd, even scummvm has the savegames and settings installed still, but everything in the ISO and GAME folder has completely vanished, and the memory card shows as there's still 14 gig of space left (so it's not just hiding somewhere).

Anyone have an idea what have caused this? A poltergeist maybe? Some evil prank played out by my child, who would have to be an evil genius if that was the case (and only really hurting himself, 'cause he was using it way more than I was)?

What firmware are you on? Mine always shows it when you go to battery under options, unless you mean something else?

I think you can use CWCheat. Holding down the select button brings up a wealth of options, including the battery percentage. It's not as simple as just tapping the home button, but as a bonus you do get screenshot abilities, an ingame text reader and the uh...ability to cheat!

But yeah, CWCheat looks like the only ingame solution. Not sure if that exit game screen is even moddable.
