So I just picked up God of War: Ghost of Sparta and am trying to rip its ISO so I can play it on my CFW PSP, but it doesn't seem to be working. UMDumper 0.3 complains that "There was an error starting the dump. Check your filename is valid and your UMD is clean then try again." iso_tool_192 shows what is probably an error message in Japanese and doesn't do anything.

Am I doing something wrong, or is this probably a sign that my UMD is actually messed up? It looks fine and was purchased new...

Also, while I'm here, what do I need to do to play the ISO when I finally get it dumped? I'm currently on 5.00 M33-6 with Prometheus M33-6; is that no longer up-to-date?

Why not just connect through usb and dump that way? I've never used a program to dump, only to compress.

And do you mean 5.50 with Prometheus instead of 5.00? Because if it's what I said then it's the most up to date.

Dump with iso tools. Or use the custom firmware itself by hitting select on the XMB and changing the USB connect to UMD instead of Memory Stick. Connect the PSP and drag the UMD iso to your desktop.

Wow, I didn't know I could do that. Thanks, that appears to be working.

I'm pretty sure it's 5.00... so yeah, maybe I'll have to update, but now that the ISO is on its way, I'll be able to find out relatively soon.

I just downloaded the PSN version of P3P while it was still on sale, but I cannot get the game to start on a PSP Phat 1000 running 5.50 Prome-3. Any tips?
Ugh, I think I might have to revert to OFW to play this :/

Alright, here's the story:

I did as red shoe paul suggested and got an ISO file. I updated my PSP to 5.50 Prome-3, which as I understand it is the current state of the art. I put the .iso file in a folder in the GAME directory, and the icon shows up as "Corrupted data."

Anyone notice something I did wrong? Was I supposed to convert it to an eboot or something, or is that what Prometheus is supposed to do?

Alternatively, are there any easy suggestions for how I can determine once and for all if this is, in fact, a bad disc? How troublesome is it to go back to OFW and then rehack later (it's a 2000, so I had to jump through some hoops the first time I went CFW...)?

Ah well, I'm screwed. My Slim's green light is coming on, yet nothing else is. Guess it's Bricked, is there a failsafe button reset or something, or (worst comes to worst) a means to restore it to official firmware? At least I'll be able to play FF7 at last. :(

Prometheus-4 is out.. I heard it fixes monster hunter 3 (Don't own game to try it out though, since it lacks English)

This thread seems as good as any, but if I just bought a PSP-Go, what would be a good site to visit to see what, if anything, I can do with it. My only real interest is in emulators. Possible?

Anybody running 5.50 GEN-D/Prometheus-3 using the 3.71 FATMS speed up patch? I believe I got it on my Slim with T85v2 board, but what I haven't noticed any difference. Wondering if I installed it right (it definitely patched 3 files in the Flash0....).

I assume it was running a CFW? Did you already try holding down the R button when you power it on to see if it gets into the recovery console?

has anybody played Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep??

I tried to install the game, but it keeps giving me error code 80111900.

does anybody know if there is a workaround?? becoz I try to play the game without install and the loading in this game is too much to bear >_<

Im doing sum quick googling, but cant seem to find a solution... if there's no solution, then I guess I jus gotta rip the game's .iso...

I think I had that happen before. Try taking out the battery and turning the system on by using the AC Adapter.

Y'know, I swear I tried that before, just after the problem started, and nothing happened, but I did it again just now, and it worked! :D
But...yeah, as soon as I put the battery back in, the problem came back, and keeps doing so. May I ask how you fixed your PSP when this happened to you? Is the battery the source of the issue (somehow) do you think?

Yeah, game installing via that method doesn't work on CFW, I've tried it with BBS and Dissidia respectively. ISO-rip it, the rip will have a major loading and performance boost over the regular play. :)

Got my PSP Go today, damn that things is a lot smaller than I always assumed it was. :lol

Installing how? I'm not quite sure what you mean by this. You mean the in game thing to install? Why not just rip the iso?

Your battery is probably set in Pandora mode.
- Turn the console on without the battery [AC only, obviously].
- Insert battery now [without turning off the console]
- Bring VHS menu and choose: "Make normal battery"
- Voilà

Shame. Alright, another question.

I bought my PSP on craigslist over the summer, and the guy sold it to me with CFW already installed. (I got a pretty nice deal) It's running Prometheus, but I'm not sure which version it is. When I go to my system info, all it says is "5.50 Prometheus". I bought the PSP back in... maybe late August, I think. So I know I'm not updated all the way. Do I just download the latest 5.50 Prometheus and run it?

Huh? If you're on 5.50 Prometheus, why would you upgrade to 5.50 Prometheus? You're already on it... And it's most up to date.

And whoever said what the PSP firmware is up to, it's actually up to 6.35 and not the other lower ones you guys are talking about. I hope they get HBL working with that eventually, I need to upgrade to that to get my 3 free games.

You can't use media go? I finally got my 10 free game code for my PSP go today and media go allowed me to enter the code, downloading all 10 games now :D

Really? How do you do it? Don't you register it by signing into the store? It just says on the box to long into PSN store and they will email you the code.

Because 5.50 Prometheus is very obsolete.

To Oyashiro:
The newest Prometheus is actually Prometheus v3, of which there were a few bug fix iterations.
Look for Prometheus v3 revision 3 or revision 4 and install that.
You can install it directly over your current Prometheus v1 set up, and when you navigate to the system settings, it should identify itself as 5.50 Prome-3.

To my knowledge, there's still no way of performing KH:BbS' in-game data install.
But ripping it an ISO is just as effective as performing the largest in-game install, if not more so. You can easily run the game in high quality mode and enjoy greatly diminished loads on top of that.

Oh crap, sorry, I thought you had the code already. Yeah you need to download the code via the PSP store on your PSP, it took about 4 weeks for the code to arrive via email. I had to update to 6.31 at the time and now obviously it's 6.35, however there is hope.

Lots of you have been asking questions about Total_Noob’s silence recently, despite the release of a new firmware from Sony, OFW 6.35.

You may recall that TN’s initial plan was to release the Hen for OFW 6.20 through the Patapon exploit and HBL, and he said that “When Sony releases a new firmware [he would] port it to 6.31″.

This statement was assuming Sony would release a new firmware AFTER the release of the Hen, in order to patch it…but 6.35 came unexpectedly.

You may also remember that Total_Noob announced he also has a vsh user mode exploit that could work with the Hen. After discussing with several hackers he had decided to keep that one under wraps, and use the patapon exploit on 6.20 instead… but again 6.35 came and changed things.

In the current state, releasing the Hen only for 6.20 would feel only like a “semi success”… I contacted Total_Noob yesterday, and his answer was short but clear:

I’ll release HEN for 6.35 with VSH Exploit

So, there you go.

Hmmm, I guess mine is out of date also then. I could have sworn I updated to V3 of Prometheus but when I check system info it just says Prome and nothing else. I guess I'll have to try and update later then. Thanks.

Hot Sex! Updating now to get code before it goes up again. :D

And is the battery charge a CFW thing? It's not on the go and kind of pisses me off that it isn't.

Hmm. That's odd.
The original versions of Prometheus (v1) just said "5.50 Prometheus"
Prometheus 2 and Prometheus 3 list as "5.50 Prome-2" and "5.50 Prome-3" respectively.
I don't recall there every being a version that listed just "5.50 Prome"...

Whoops! Does say Prometheus and not Prome. I had V3 on my stick, maybe I forgot to run it before I deleted it...

Edit: I downloaded and run the v4 installer and still says 5.50 Prometheus. Not sure what's going on. Mine's a 2000 if that matters?

More likely it was bugfix revision 3 of Prometheus v1.
I know, the numbering just is not ideal.

Think of it this way:

5.50 Prometheus1-1
5.50 Prometheus1-2
5.50 Prometheus1-3
(all showing as 5.50 Prometheus)

5.50 Prometheus2-1
5.50 Prometheus2-2
(all showing as 5.50 Prome-2)

5.50 Prometheus3-1
5.50 Prometheus3-2
5.50 Prometheus3-3
(all showing as 5.50 Prome-3)

etc.

Could be missing a few there, but you get the point.

Weird, my Sora no Woto disc and image lock up now when playing cinematics. Then again I didn't really play it before, so I have no idea if it was the firmware though. I can barely navigate it so I guess it's no big loss. :lol

I think I did what Sagitario posted and then just repeated the whole pandora process and pray that it worked afterwards.

I read that you do not have to log into the store with the PSP Go. Someone posted on the official forum that all you had to do was register your PSP Go with your PSN account(be sure to register the Go in hardware) and they'll email you the code. I just got my PSP Go yesterday. I used my PS3 PSN account that way I don't have to log in and out for each different games. I plan on trying to download the games via ps3 and just transfer it to the go, if it doesn't work i'll try the media go method. Now I just need to wait up to 3 weeks for the code.

Yup,it's back to life now, battery seems to be fixed and everything. Thanks for the help guys. :D

...though admittedly, I'm now gonna end up driving myself bonkers trying to get my PSN copy of FF7 working. Searches on the web say its either lack of KEYS.BIN files (dunno if that means just for the PSX rips of the originals, or to get a PSN PSOne game running on CFW), or that I need to revert back to Official Firmware to get the eboot file actually working. Hell, I'll do it for FF7, just seems to be a very difficult process from a 5.50 GEN point. :(

Too late now, I already updated. :( I know if you access the store and download a demo it will activate your account. And if you're in the US like me, it's only supposed to be 5-7 business days and they go out on wednesdays.

Who? I thought they had a few teams working on it. Plus Wololo said it was coming out a few days after The HEN. I really hope its coming out before xmas like he says since I'm going on a trip soon for a month. Thank goodness there's HBL.

I really don't know why he didn't just release The HEN with 6.20. Just because Sony released 6.35 doesn't mean he should stop with 6.20 and work on 6.35 since 6.36 is already out in JP. Oh well, 20 more days until we find out.

Anyone know if there are any badass mediaplayer plugins for the Go? Or a bluetooth headset with really good bass/volume control?
