How do I do that?
Sadly you have to google for the patch, extract the files from the ISO, patch the files, then rebuild the ISO.
How do I do that?
Hi there,
I have a memory stick related question : I want to buy a 8Gb one, and my choice at the moment is this : http://www.play.com/Electronics/Ele.../SanDisk-8GB-Memory-Stick-Gaming/Product.html
However I already bought once a Sandisk 4Gb MSDuo which was I think of inferior quality compared to Sony's (MGS PW was freezing with the Sandisk but working just fine with the Sony), so my question is : does anybody have this MSDuo in particular ? Does it work well with you ? Did you try MGS PW on it ?
Thanks.
I have a question, I want to update my PSP-3000 and am planning on going the very easy 6.60PRO-B10 route, but what do I do afterwards? Where can I find compatible programs/emulators/whatever for the type of CFW I am running? I google'd, but I get very different programs/things. Any help I could get would be awesome!
Anyone want to take a whack at a new OP for this thread? The PSP is, for all intents and purposes, done, and it'd be possible to rewrite the entire OP to be much more concise and clear out the thread, which has 4 years of baggage in it.
Basically what we need is:
- How to put Custom Firmware on your PSP (http://wololo.net/wagic/cfw4dummies/ already has everything we need). This is so easy it's not even funny. In fact, linking to this guide would be more than sufficient.
I had to update my old cfw to a newer one and came across these good guides -

- Common Custom Firmware plugins (I would recommend at least a screenshot plugin, RemoteJoy Lite, and maybe a cheating option?).
- Where to find homebrew, and where to put it to run it (/PSP/Game/). Maybe links to major pieces of homebrew, including the emulators listed on this page... and also probably include the alternate web browser options.
- How to rip your own PS1 games (Not sure what tools are in use now).
- Transferring UMDs to play on a Go (Install a UMD ripper on a pre-Go PSP, rip there, move to CFW Go).
Mainly access to PSN I guess. Are there any differences between all of the version above 6.20? Like, does 6.35 have more functionality than 6.60 or does it not really matter at this point?
With the "temporary" version of CFW can you load ps1 and psp isos from the memory stick? I haven't paid attention in months and months but I know initially when I got my PSP Go you could do some custom firmware but I remember it not being able to book isos from the stick or something.
Yes.
I'm running 6.60 Pro on my Go and I can play all of my backups and PS1 games just fine.
The only issue I've had is the SNES emulator. The only two that work are Euphoria R5 beta 3 and an older version of SNES9x from 2008. One (Euphoria) has a ton of graphical issues and the version from 2008 is slow.
Temp CFW can do most anything perm CFW can do now. It just doesn't have "kernal mode" which is an issue for some applications but people have gotten around it.
CFW is easier than ever to get.
Hi guys,
My bro has an old PSP PHAT, with M-33 custom firmware 5.00 or something.
He recently bought a used copy of Final Fantasy IV complete collection and it wants him to install 6.37 (on the UMD) to play it.
Is there any way he can skip the update and just play the game without updating so he can keep M-33 5.00 CFW?
Thank you,
M33 5.00 is horribly outdated.
I'd recommend either
A) Upgrading to 5.50 Promethius Gen D3 and ripping the game to an .iso (hit select and change the USB reader to the UMD drive, plug in the PSP and turn on the USB, you have an instant .iso of the game. Then just drag and drop and place the game's iso in the ISO folder.
B) Upgrade to 6.20 Pro and use the permanent patch, and do the same for the .iso.
If you go to 6.60 pro, does that prevent you from ripping games or anything like that instead of the 6.20 pro? I'm still at 5.50 prometheus but I had to redownload some of my PSN games and they won't run now which is annoying.
Hopefully someone can answer this for me.
I have a PSP-1000. Having bought content across two different PSN accounts, I would like to use the content on the PSP without having to keep authenticating the PSP back and forth between the two accounts. (The content is exclusively PS1 classics, if that's important. Trying to access it without the CFW active just gives "This content can not be accessed by this account")
I was hoping 6.60 PRO would do this. Apparently it doesn't? I just get a generic "Game could not be started (80021048)" message when I try to activate software bought from whatever the non-"active" account is. This thing is supposedly using the NODRM thing, right? Is that something I have to add or change or something?
Is there a way to solve this? I've been unable to find anything on this via Google, so I figured I'd ask here.
It's a bit of a clunky solution, but...
1. Authenticate the account you DON'T want to use.
2. Download "NP Decryptor", and follow the instructions to convert every game under that account into a DRM-free ISO.
3. Delete the EBOOT files, keep the ISOs.
4. Authenticate for the other account.
It will require a small investment of time, but you'll only have to do it once.
Just updated a co-worker's PSP (well, one I sold him a few years ago), to 6.60 Pro from 5.50M33. Although having CFW's pointless for him since he wouldn't know how to use it, but it's renewed his interest in PSP games, and he bought quite a few yesterday! Now he wants to rip a bunch of his DVDs. Is it possible for PSP to play 480p MP4s now, or is it still 480x272 or lower, and only Sony has that capability?
Are you using a Pandora Battery? Because exactly this happens if you're using Pandora with OFW and there's no proper IPL file on the memory card.I think I goofed. I decided to update my cfw because I hadn't done so in a long, long time. I got back to ofw then updated to the latest one and followed this. The problem is when I turn my PSP off and try to turn it back on I just get a black screen. The only way I can get my PSP to work is if I take the battery out, plug in the AC charger, boot the PSP up, and then switch to my battery. If I turn my PSP off again I have to repeat all of this. Any idea what I've broken?![]()
Try to use one of the apps in that package to inject a custom IPL to the memory card and check if that helps anyway. No, I'm just using a regular battery. I got all the PRO cfw stuff on there and running but ever since then it's been doing this.

I hate to sound dumb but I'm fairly clueless on these things. Would I do that by running the CIPL Flasher?
If there's an app with "ipl" in it's name, run it and follow the instructions. Can't really help you any better, because I've sold my PSP, sorry.
My games don't work either. It loads to a black screen then turns off :\ Maybe I'll try uninstalling the whole thing and starting fresh.
Edit: Yeah that was a poor choice, I think I broke it more. It won't even turn on now. And to think I read this was an idiot proof method. Sigh.
Yeah, I don't know what to even do at this point. I have a feeling it's dead for good. I think I'll just wait and buy a Vita someday and hope the games I still need to play are on PSN. It'll suck having to buy them again but if my PSP can't be saved I don't have much choice.
