GBOY Power !

You have to rename the rom to ROM.GB

Only for 1.0 firmware...

Can you double the pixels so it fills out the screen more?

I wonder if Nintendo will start trying to crack down on ROM sites more now that you can emulate their handheld on a widely used competitor's handheld?

I heard you can downgrade your firmware somehow?

Anyway... it's great that the proof of concept is done...

probably more than a little raw right now... (you'd want 2x view if nothing else)

but next up, SNES and GBA emulators... muwharharhar.

There are no fancy options. You can't even store more than one ROM at a time unless you put them in seperate folders with seperate copies of the emulator. There's no sound. There are lotsa glitches. So no, you can't double the pixels.

Yet.

Just think about it.
Multitasking 6 GB games or 4 GBA games at the same time.
You could swap focus on them with the L/R-Buttons

^^ Seriously man, the psp will be THE king of consoles when we get proper emu of snes n genesis on it. All those classics on a memory stick..... = wett dream squared.

Don't jump the gun now.

Give them another week or two.

Seriously, that was RIDICULOUSLY fast. "Hello World" to Pokemon Blue within... a week?

what a waste of a perfectly sexy screen, buy a DS you retards!

But... the DS _can't_ run GB (unless it's ported, or the emu is included with the game), so how does buying a DS benefit them? :P

Anyway, to already get a GB emu up and running is impressive, and hopefully says something about quick porting to a PSP-compatible format. (Wipeout will soon be everyone's gateway to homebrewn goodness, perhaps?) Unless someone programmed the GB Emu from complete scratch/previous knowledge specifically for the PSP.

Impressive. And they are coding without even propperly knowing the hardware or having access to the official SDK. I foresee a great future for the homebrew community, I can't wait till the whole thing explodes and we can run it on 1.5 consoles.

I wonder what Yamauchi thinks of this :D

Go back to GameFAQs.

Create a folder under
PSP/GAME/GBEMU

and stick the renamed rom and the executable in there.

okay, we need slow game recommendations! ;)

any old school RPGS involving crawling around stat building ? ;)

Dragons Lair works - colour me surprised.
Cannon fodder would be great too :)

Can't wait for the next few months of EMU heaven.

Color games included? Or do those run slower? I don't have the ability to try this out. :P

But either way, here's a list of turn-based RPGs for both (US releases only, mind you):

Gameboy:
• Final Fantasy Legend
• Final Fantasy Legend II
• Final Fantasy Legend III
• Great Greed
• Knight's Quest
• Pokémon: Blue Version
• Pokémon: Red Version
• Pokémon: Yellow Version: Special Pikachu Edition
• Sword of Hope (first person)
• Sword of Hope II (first person)

Gameboy Color:
• Animorphs
• Azure Dreams (rogue-like)
• Dragon Warrior I & II
• Dragon Warrior III
• Dragon Warrior Monsters
• Dragon Warrior Monsters II: Cobi's Journey
• Dragon Warrior Monsters II: Tara's Adventure
• Harry Potter & the Chamber of Secrets
• Harry Potter & the Sorcerer's Stone
• Lufia: The Legend Returns
• Pokémon: Crystal Version
• Pokémon: Gold Version
• Pokémon: Silver Version
• Revelations: The Demon Slayer
• Robopon: Sun Version

Well I'd love to try this, but Windows decided it didn't want to detect my PSP when I plug it in any more and that it loves to suck dick. No emu loving for me until I can borrow someone's computer in the morning.

Coincidentally (or not), there is a "security" firmware upgrade to 1.51 today.
I wonder if anyone's gonna download that :lol

I'm still on 1.0 and there's a couple of GB games I fancy playing. I'll have to see if I can download any of my old carts to ROM images and try it out.

Scott - i thank you :)

Jonnyram , the speed is a little lacking. No doubt we'll get another update soon - at least i hope so.
