In theory, both versions might be on the blu-ray disc.
 
Very smart move.

This won't matter much in Japan, since handhelds are still preferred, but this will have a huge effect outside of Japan where PSP sales are non existent.

Wow, fantastic!

This could be amazing for Peace Walker, especially the idea of cross-platform multiplayer.

Of course, it also looks like a lot of work to port these. Lots of GUI support, and lots of fixes... I expect this to be just a handful of titles. :(

Personally, I'd love it if all PSP games were playable on the PS3 in the same manner as Minis.

the news is not "a leak"
that is officially announced by SCE Taiwan
SCE Taiwan announced it because there is a Chinese/English duel languages version of GoWP collection
This is not the first time
They used to announce DDFF-2 and FF13 Chinese version during special events/conferences
 
I think both VC psp titles would be great for this. It felt like such a waste to play the first one, love it, then never play another one because the series moved to a different platform.

The point of it is to get the games already upscaled to be ready for the NGP I am thinking.
If people will dip for the PS3, even better.
 
First, this better come to the NGP as well. Second, I wonder what the price will be. $60 for a package that includes a bluray and a dl code or umd for the psp?

Two years since they were announced and there have only been about 4 of them. Where is Metal Gear, Final Fantasy, GTA, Jak, Ratchet, Persona, ZoE, Ace Combat, the dozens of other PS2 series which were worth caring about, and also when the fuck is the Team ICO collection coming?

I expected much much more. Not to mention staggered PSN releases, no 1080p and a lack of remixed surround sound. They really have no excuse for the lack of 1080p any more since it's PSP.
 
Does this mean Portable Ops might become playable now? I gave up playing my copy because I couldn't deal with the controls of one analog, etc....

Yeah, that makes sense.
After seeing 3DS's BC mode, I'm a little worried about how something like Tactics Ogre is going to look on the NGP's 960x544 screen.

Some of the older PS3 models had partially software-based emulation for PS2, but there's never been full software-based emulation

We have. Well, most of us, at least :p The PS3 is never getting full software-based PS2 emulation.

Eh...I really doubt that. I don't really see a secret ending teasing an upgraded version that's going to add a whole between BBS and KH1 scenario.

Man, if these things are priced right and come with both a psp and ps3 version in one package, there is massive potential here.

How do people think this connects with the NGP, cuz I'm sure it will.
 
This would've been perfect if a PS3 remaster could be played on NGP. But in this way it is worthless for me. But it seems to be good for people who can't stand playing games on handhelds.

The prospect of seeing some of my favorite games in HD, playable with a PS3 controller, and with the ability to comfortably play them at home and continue that experience on the go, is really fucking awesome.

Shame they announced this so long before E3. This would have made the whole week for me. HD Peace Walker? Please.
