PSX (Playstation Experience) Attendees Thread Dec 6-7 2014

I thought about going to The Game Awards, since I'll be flying in Thursday night, but I just didn't see it to be all that attention-grabbing from the website. Plus, it's my first time in Vegas, so I want to take in the strip on Friday.
If you like Gotham Casting on Facebook they have been giving away a lot of free tickets. Free in Vegas is always nice lol.

I'll be attending. First time to this type of event, too.
2 questions:
1. How early are people planning to line up for the keynote?
2. Have they announce the time for the panels or is there a way to know which ones we will be able to go to? Overlaping panels, and other issues are a concern.

1) I am going to line up about three hours early, Vita in tow. I think two hours would be a good time, too, but due to the time difference between Chicago and Vegas, I'll have been up for many hours already.
2) No announcement yet. I am shocked by this, considering it's already Wednesday. This leads me to believe they'll package the schedule with the badge pickup. So, maybe we'll get an online version by Friday?
Any word on the GAF meetup yet?
Eyeing Saturday night. Hopefully info later on this evening.

Will be there, but working both days, so no fun to be had during the con itself. Might try to get into the Awards show, but probably won't make the keynote due to having to set up.
Also might try to make the GAF meet-up if I feel up to it.

At the event? No chance. Nowhere near enough time to properly plan and administer such a thing. I highly doubt they will have different colored wristbands for paid vs free so the paid people get the "good" swag bags or whatever.
An email after the event saying "hey, sorry we gave away so many free tickets. We really appreciate that you paid money to see this and here's what we're going to do to make up for it.."? Extremely unlikely but possible.

I think GAF meetup plans are set.
Saturday Evening at 3535 in The Linq Hotel and Casino. Lots of stuff we can walk to in the Promenade should we want to crawl some or the place is swarming. Never been to Vegas before. Doing my best here.
Time wise what does everyone think? 8pm? 10pm? Convention goes until 10pm that night but we might want to start before the Rodeo lets out. If we knew the damn schedule.
Any opinions.
Also who plans on attending the meetup?

Well there is ufc fights that night in Vegas. I'm not sure if I will do that or the meetup at this time.
Edit* also Adam Boyes mentioned meeting up for drinks but hasn't elaborated where or when. I'll be damned sure to get a beer with that man.
The Rodeo is on every night plus it's Vegas in general so I think we're screwed no matter what we do. If we go Friday or Sunday, we'll probably lose 1/2 or more of the potential attendees due to arriving or leaving flights.

You may want to consider having the meetup after the expo on Sunday. Event ends at 6PM so nobody will have to leave early to make it. That, and I think people will be less exhausted lol.
I'd like to go but I think it'd be packing my schedule too tight. Have some rough finals next week so I plan on hitting the books Sunday night. Really shouldn't even be attending PSX but that's whatever. Hope to hang out with some Gaffers at the event!

Oh I know. I talked to him at PAX Prime, have seen all his gaf posts and have been tweeting at him. Love to get him to come.
If he has GAF meetup plans of his own, I'll defer to his as I don't know what his time commitments are. Hope everything works out and we get him and a nice turnout.

Sid Shuman is a Senior Manager, Digital Communications at PlayStation. Those are absolutely legit. Sony is papering this thing like crazy.

I hope Sony clears this up or I can snag a guide tomorrow when I get my wristband. It's a little frustrating to not have a schedule three days before the event.

As far as cheap, I'm staying at circus circus which is about 50 bucks a night, can't find much cheaper, at least not on the strip

Shit. I'm thinking of driving from LA. It's not nearly as bad but I drive like 3 hours a day to get to/from work so usually I hate going anywhere on the weekends. Considering leaving at like 4am Saturday morning too...idk

Had no idea there as a thread for attendees. I was looking for someone who was willing to share a room, but I think I got that covered. If all goes well I'm down to hit up the GAF meet and greet.
