PS5, PC Live Service Fairgames Is a 'Super Clunky' Cross Between Fortnite and The Division
Feedback from pre-alpha test was very poor

Yep things are definitely on fire behind the scenes.Spoiler alert - if a studio founder is departing the studio before shipping the first game (this one) this tells you all you need to know.

And then head up a new studio on 6 figuresIt's wild how someone can start a studio, employ hundreds of people, sell it for a fortune and when things look bad say "well, I'm out" and just walk away before the game is even out.
Because of escalation of commitment. Look it up. It perfectly describes Sony's live service efforts. But, Jade Raymond! How could this be? Yet another live service game in a niche genre (heist? extraction?).
How many of these failures is it going to take before Sony stops pouring money into them?
"Super Clunky" should be the name of the next Sony GAAS studio.
Some of these questions are rhetorical as I'm familiar with sunk cost fallacy. It's still mind boggling to me though.Because of escalation of commitment. Look it up. It perfectly describes Sony's live service efforts.
They'll take the wrong decisions like focusing on MAUs (which they are already doing because THEIR woke / AAAA games don't sell anymore) then they will do even more politically correct games + day one PC + subscriptions + mandatory 100% digital (to increase profit on each copie sold) like MS are doing in the aim of increasing their MAUs metrics. Which will work only at the beginning but is doomed to fail in the long term. They don't have trillions of dollars in the bank like MS to hide their losses with a neat Ponzi scheme of always buying company to artificially increase revenue.Sony really did fuck up with this whole GaaS initiative.
...not that I'm complaining since this is a positive thing and - hopefully - will send the right message to their execs.
She would have been pushed out, even if never made public. Like Bonnie st 343It's wild how someone can start a studio, employ hundreds of people, sell it for a fortune and when things look bad say "well, I'm out" and just walk away before the game is even out.
GaaS must die.
Guy has been coasting since he got the job..Time to get Herman fired.
GaaS makes too much money to die
if Hermen has balls, this game should be canceled.
