Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare coming to PC October 29.

Nice. Always felt weird to have RDR2 but not the first one, will be lovely to play it at full graphix and 60fps.
Maybe you will curse me for saying this but RDR is not the first game :messenger_grinning_sweat: The first game would be Red Dead Revolver. And as far as I know it is not PC.

And if we come back to RDR, hope it will not be too prices. Last time I played it maybe 10 years ago on PS3. Actually waiting it on PC so that I can play RDR2 afterwards. It just was not my priority.

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife

Aw shit that's true, I always forget about Revolver.

Never played it, wonder if it shares any characters or events with the Redemption games.

Im going to manifest £60 because they deserve it.

The game launched at $50 on lastgen (PS4 and Switch, Xbox already has it via backcompat) sometime ago, and yes, it includes the Undead Nightmare DLC (without online MP, only Xbox has that).

Edit: Forgot to mention that it got a PS5 patch, and runs at 4K 60 fps.

Never finished this back in the day (or RDR2 for that matter) so I'll definitely pick it up. Happy to see ultrawide support.

The only Rockstar game that I was really into. Spent hundreds of hours playing it, and another hundreds of hours just playing poker and blackjack until it became super easy and boring.

I'm not gonna double dip unless it's a good deal, which I don't expect from Rockstar.

I prefer RDR2 in nearly every way, but I might get this just to play Undead Nightmare again, I remember that was a fun time. A shame the sequel never got any singleplayer DLC.

So, just a simple question (hopefully). To those who remember: What would you call the instant snapping on the target when you pressed the button to aim?

Talking about what happens to the 2 NPC’s he shoots from here. There’s plenty more, but this example should suffice.

Would this thing even need framegen or DLSS on any mid tier hardware from like the last 5 years?

What time is it?
Probably $49.99. I'll wait for a sale. I don't think the game has aged particularly well, especially in terms of mission design.

Well, the PS5 can run it at 4k60 so if you want 120+ fps on that level of hardware you'd likely need some form of DLSS/FSR.

Enjoy it PC nerds. It’s the superior cowboy simulator. I replayed it this year on PS5 and was reminded how much more fun it is compared to the sequel. Incredible game. A masterpiece.

Yeah. As much as i liked the 2 a lot of the mechanics are unbearable.
The need to use specific clothes, drink, eat etc.. etc... is cool at first, but becomes a real chore after a few hours and requires a lot of dedication.
It's also not a cowboy game at all anymore, except for the "outlaw" setup.
They chose to push the game to mid-simulation system a bit too much.

That looks like your bog standard Rockstar lock-on aiming.

Please be Deck verified...
It won't be verified due to the Rockstar launcher. That's the only thing I imagine that will prevent verified status. If this doesn't run well on the Steam Deck then Rockstar fucked up on a massive scale.

I remember back in 2011 my girlfriend at the time bought it for me. I was busy studying, didn't know much about it and wasn't really hyped or anything so I ignored it for weeks or maybe even months.

Then I put it into my 360 and I was hooked. I devoured it in 3 days. One of the best games ever made.

I still listen to the soundtrack every now and then. Crazy to me that many people might have never played it, and it's a shame Rockstar didn't bother upgrading the graphics to bring it to current gen level.

Game was really great when I picked it up for 3 euro on PS3, crap frame rates though.

I certainly won't be picking it up on PC unless it's a 5 euro sale and port is good.

However PC gamers who never experienced it, it's an excellent game.

It ran worse than that, you obviously wern't there at the time, i'm a PC only gamer, never owned a console but that doesn't mean all PC games are better if they are bad ports and GTA 4 was a bad port.
From my recollection a lot of the problems at the time were because it had sliders for traffic etc that weren't meant to be maxed out on hardware available at the time but everyone with top of the range hardware just put everything to max and then were unhappy with the performance.

144hz, c'mon everything should do at least 240hz. 144hz is tv quality now on LG
Their jank ass physics engine gets wacko the higher the framerates, GTAV isn't supposed to go beyond 144Hz either, though RDR2 was said to be fine up to 165Hz.

Thinks buying more servers can fix a bad patch

I don’t think Horizon Remastered will sell well on Steam even without RDR. Steam is flooded with great games this quarter.

Absolutely insane it took this long. Played it on XB1X a couple years ago and it held up well, looked great with all the enhancements. They really nailed the atmosphere. It's a better game than RDR2 and I say that as someone who loves RDR2.

I just always owned all 3 consoles alongside my PC, I don't get this waiting 14 years to play one of the best games ever made. Nowadays you don't even need an Xbox it you have a PC outside a handful of titles.

Like it you had the money for a PC why wouldn't you be able to buy a preowned PS or Xbox? Please help me understand, I'm in the UK where these things are more expensive too, is it a pride thing? I don't get it, if I want to play a game I get the console and play it, sometimes on launch, sometimes way later sometimes the Pro as in the last gen (because I was big into Diablo III and then Hitman during the start of the PS4 cycle).
In third world countries, consoles can be uber expensive especially if they're not sold officially. Hence why steam has such a huge hold over the market. There's importing/shipping costs and an extra markup before they can get to you. Plus, digital buying can be a pain. You can't even make a PSN account. Physical disc suffers from the same thing that consoles do. By the time they get to your country, they're much more expensive than they otherwise would be. WIth the currency rate, a single game can cost you a minimum one month wage, let alone buying a console.

Now compare all this with a PC where you can get one cheap second hand, upscale until it plays the game, plus steam prices are often localized and you have 'grey' options for the poorer class. Pretty much makes consoles impossible. In the UK, gaming is very accessible, simple, straightforward, officially bought and sold. That's not how it works over the world unfortunately.

On another website covering gaming news, a Dutch one, I called it an aimbot that you activate yourself by pressing the trigger. They don’t agree and call it aim assist. It’s way too extreme to be an aim assist. That is why I’m asking.

Bought it on PS5 in a sale for 40 euros. Paltinumed it (must be around my 10th 100% run as I love this game). Will grab this on sale for 20 euros, whenever this is.

Yeah but It didn't matter, as I said in another post I bought a gpu that had more memory where you could increase the memory sliders and they made no difference, the performance was still bad.

And as Gaiff pointed out without mods it still runs badly now

Not sure why they would think that, the game will literally snap onto enemies when you press the trigger on Casual or Normal aim settings. You can use the second post in this thread as a reference: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/957923-red-dead-redemption/55106860. Hell, practically the whole thread is people complaining about the auto-aim in multiplayer lol.
