OK just finished the game and got the credits. Jesus Christ that was amazing. It's one of the best games I've played this generation.

I finished the game and loved it but
I hate Jack. His face and voice annoy me so much. Not fun to play as him after the end of the game.

Basically mid level save points mean that no one should have any trouble with this game.

and if you still do then well i don't know what to say...:lol

I agree.
While it was a little depressing, it was VERY interesting... Kinda reminded me of No Country for Old Men in a way. The idea that, "You can't stop what's coming." I really like how there is this sense that John has left behind his old life and simply wants something more for himself than to continue along the path of his misspent youth. Its like he grew up and realized the need to change but no one around him wants to change. They cling to their old ways and refuse to let John change in their own mind. As a result, his destiny is cast long before we ever meet him. Outlaw for life...

Just completed the story. Amazing game. Ties with ME 2 as my GOTY so far.

The ending:
Completely gut-wrenching, John was an awesome character and his son is a bit of a dweeb. But still, the way it all happened was so tragic. I have to say, playing asJohn running a ranch and spending time with his family was a huge breathe of fresh air.

I've completed 81.7% of the game with a total of 30 hours 29 mins playtime , and I guess now I'll try to get 100%. It sounds really tough from what I'm hearing. Also, I hope Rockstar support this game like they did with GTA IV -- Ballad of Gay Tony type expansions etc.

Finally got Mo Van Barr after restarting the game. Tip for those that have an issue: Do nothing but the Bonnie side missions till you get the lasso. Then do the first Marshal mission, and kill the target instead of wounding him. Then after that, he should pop up after as a bounty.

@ Lakitu: Giving the Marshal his own expansion would be great to do or maybe have an expansion where you come in as a new agent and work with the other guy that
Ross worked with
and you see what a bad person he is and you go off the reservation and end up trying to kill him and some of his
US Army
buddies.

I believe the
"I know you" stranger mission
is the only one you can't do after completing the game.

So that means if I continue on this save, I will never be able to 100% this game? That's a shame.

no
that mission doesn't affect 100% completion

the only thing missable in the game is a single trophy/achievement
(which also does not affect completion rate)
Spurred To Victory:
Complete 20 story missions without switching to a new horse at a hitching post.

everything for 100% can be done at any point during main story or post-game

I kill. If ever I see one about to be executed, I do whatever I can to help them out of their predicament - even if it means gaining a bounty.

For the love of god don't search for the "I Know You" mission on that Red Dead Wiki unless you want the entire game spoiled for you.

I swear, whenever a game releases a group of people get bugs and glitches and decree the game as horrible while yelling loudly about it.
People need to learn to chill and laugh at such funny moments. I had a few happen last night and I was howling like an old woman.

This game is not horrible and anyone who says so has no taste in games. Period.

It does, however, have a lot of glitches. Most are downright hilarious, some are annoying, very few gamebreaking/blocking.

i thought marston was voiced by bill paxton, but i just checked and was surprised to see it wasn't him. sounds just like him

Just a quick question. Can horses die of exhaustion in this game? I was riding along happily and out of nowhere the horse collapsed and threw me arse over tit. I dunno if it was shot or what, very bizarre.

Great game tho although somethings irk me. Allowing the dead eye to be upgraded was a terrible mistake IMO. Level 1 allowed you a little breathing room in a tense crossfire whilst still feeling like a skilled badass. Level 2 destroys any need for skill and can overly relied upon. Its a shame they didn't make the upgrades in this regard optional.

Otherwise loving this game so far, vast improvement over GTA4. I think the whole dynamic compliments the wildwest more than an contemporary, urban city. So much so i think it'll be hard for GTA5 to top this.

What are you doing to the old women in your life to make them 'howl'?

Man they're pooping all over Red Dead Redemption on the Bombcast :( It sounds like Ryan and Jeff are letting the game's little flaws really get to them. Although I think Brad is doing the review, which is good since he says he considers it R*'s best game yet (which I agree with :D).

Glad more people are starting to finish the campaign, and like the ending as well :)

Just finished the game, and the ending is amazing.
I didn't know about the real ending beforehand, but I just thought I'd visit Blackwater right after Abigail died. I was still feeling really vengeful at that point because I loved John as a character, so finding the sidequest was such a nice surprise. I decided to ride all the way to Lake Julio and Mexico through the night, shot the bastard, and got the awesome end credits. Such a beautiful ending to a wonderful game.

By far my game of the year. Loved it to bits.

Horses can die if you push them too hard.

They can also die from stray rattlesnakes.

End game spoiler:

The more I think about it the more I hate the ending, John Marston is my favorite Rockstar character easily and I didn't want him to die like this. Its a good ending and it made sense, but I just wish John didn't die.

Wow so I met this absolute tool when playing online yesterday. It was just a free roam and I went up to this guy to try and sneak him but he saw me and shot me... anyways I got him back and then the abusive PMs started rolling in calling me every name under the sun cause he was after this trophy. Tough luck pal. The irony was I got a trophy off him for the Kill a Rockstar or someone who's killed a one blah blah. :D

Needless to say he was my first ever PSN block.

Must admit though so far of what (little) I've played of the multi I haven't really been massively impressed. Done a few Gang hideouts in a posse and the odd deathmatch type ones but I'm a bit disappointed. That and everyone I've been on so far has had very few players. Yet to have a game where it's posse vs posse. Everyone just joins the same posse and that's it. Early days I suppose but I hope it's not always like this.

I was under the impression if you have 5 cards under 21 in Blackjack it was an automatic win. I was surprised as hell to see I could hit again and get a 6th card.

I just finished the Eva side-mission and man that was probably the most emotional moment
I had in a game. I originally decided to give Mario the $200 to let her go (not sure if it was possible to kill him there and then) but as I was riding away from her graveyard, I was thinking to myself "should have killed him when I had the chance". Sort of felt responsible for her sad death. Incidentally, I don't think it was revealed how she died.

Five Card Charlie is not a recongnized casino rule. More of a house rule.

Can you populate saloons somehow? Suppose to beat someone up in Casa Madrugada Saloon (Fightin' around the world), but it's empty. Tried returning to it several times, but nope, still empty.

You kill him back then you fail the quest, she runs off scared of you. Though I guess that's a happier ending considering what happens if you follow the quest.

I haven't really found any game breaking bugs in the game, bar a couple of console freeze up. Just some odd/funny moments that don't hurt the gameplay.

Cracking on a bit more with the single player but I just love each and every character in the game so far I've met. Each just has a unique personality that make them memorable characters. Which is making me love the game and want to progress and meet many others. Usually for me in these open world and indeed WRPGs the characters are so dull and samey it's hard to tell most apart or like them.

These Mexico missions are starting to drag on. I just want to get out of this area and move on...

Yeah, its getting annoying how every character basically says "in due time" "soon enough" "soon" "first do this" x 536 times before you progress in the story. I just want Marston to cut n mid sentence and put a gun to their head, demanding the whereabouts of the gang.

Some lady stopped me asking for help near Macfarlane's farm and 4 guys came out and ambushed me. Killed all of them and used the rope on the lady to tie her up and put her down on the train tracks near the farm and she exploded when the train ran her over. Got the Dastardly achievement. :lol

Flowers for a special lady....wtf....... :/ killed the guy after the quest

Yeah John gets jerked around too much, it doesn't fit some of his character. I wish R* would made it like ME2 where you have an interactive cutscene system where I can just pull a gun out and kill a guy. Even if he is a questgiver, fuck it.

Why are Survival Maps unavailable in every store I go to? Please don't tell me there's a finite amount of them, and when you've bought/used them all, then that's it.

You can only carry one at a time. Once you use it, it will become available again at stores.

Some Idea’s for DLC.

Harder Bounties
Make some bounties only show up on local radar so you can’t just camp/warp to them. Make a bounty where you have to get a whole gang, sometimes there are all together and sometimes they are separated. Make them crack shots. Currently bounties offer little challenge.

Buffalo Shooting
Ride the front of a train and have to clear the buffalo as it speeds on its way. Buffalo were a perceived danger to trains. Buffalo dies on the tracks and the train has to stop. You lose time as you have to clear it.

Tracking
Actually have to follow tracks to locate a rare bear/cougar.

This Town Ain’t Got No Law!
Of group of players defends a town. Another group attacks the town. There are civilians in the town that have to be protected. Defenders get time to setup a defense, on roofs ect. Attackers get horses.

This Is My Land! *Spoilered cause it has some ending tid bits.
Probably only doable in single or private roam. Have a plot of land, nothing on it. You have to start a ranch and build it into a successful and prosperous homestead. Things you might have to do:
+ Dig a well. Remember the divining rod guy, maybe he teaches you how to locate the best spot.
+ Capture horses to sell so you can buy cows or maybe you steal the cows, your call. Ranch Karma. If you steal cattle word gets around, you ranch is a little down trodden. If you have good ranch karma you have flowers and healthy tree’s.
+ Build a fence mini-game. Different types of fences.
+ Build a home/bard/coral/silo. Keep it simple, maybe based off money and time. Not talking actual construction and design. Get to choose on different prefab building.
+Start a mine? Maybe.
+ Defend it against indian’s/Bandits
+ Deal with droughts/crop rabbits/mad cow disease/horse thieves/crows(ug)

These are just some idea’s. You could really have fun and some ownership in what you vested in.

Hard Mode
Not really DLC but more of a mod.
+No horse summoning. You must break or steal a horse. You just get cougared? (Yes in this game cougared is fucking verb). Tough you better hope someone comes buy or you see some wild horses.
+No auto-aim, only level 3 deadeye and a reduced meter.
+ No camp/warping.

HOLY FUCKING SHIT. I just came across two people in the middle of nowhere at a tent handling loads of boxes of TNT. One of them says: "I told you to put away that flint!"

MASSIVE explosion, and two bodies flying through the air, Team Rocket style. :lol

I didn't even do anything; it was just a random scripted event. This game is absolutely incredible.

How many times does "you can lead a horse to water..." need to be said?

I like this idea, the bounties are too damn easy as is. I'd like to see bounties in better locations, even gang hideouts and houses/mansions/forts. Have the bounty camped up in the deepest room with shit-tons of enemies surrounding him. Once you finally catch his ass have reinforcements charging towards the strong-hold for you to destroy with cannons/gatlin guns/sniper rifles.

They could use this model for MP DLC as well, I'd love to defend the fort from a bunch of enemy waves horde style with my posse. Hopefully with scaling numbers of enemies for the number of people in your posse.
