Just bought this, about 2 hours in. Loving the shit out of it thus far.
I believe so, I'm pretty sure I've played with Brits online before. East coast US, for reference. Is there cross-region play i.e. can I have a meet with some US players for online achievements even if I have PAL copy?

I'm trying to make sense of this, what were you trying to say? :lolgreenjerk said:Panneau d'arrêt de votre eau de la dynamite et saint!
crispyben said:I'm trying to make sense of this, what were you trying to say? :lol
It translated to "(something) of halt of your water of the dynamite and saint".greenjerk said:I used Google translate, that might be the problem... "stop hoarding the dynamite and holy water!"

:lol No, sorry for the confusion, I threw my statement into google translate because of the troubles we were having playing with these guys. We'd get to wave 14+, get overwhelmed and die.... and then watch one of the French guys climb up on the roof and throw down about 18 sticks of dynamite, and tons of holy water and bait.SmokingBarrelX said:You sure that's what they said? That sentence structure doesn't make any sense. But, someone already figured out the translation.
Panneau d'arrêt: Stop sign, assuming it was used as slang
"Arrêtez de faire des réserves de dynamite et d'eau bénite !"greenjerk said::lol Guess I'll scrap my plans to write that and some other phrases down for future use... don't know why matchmaking throws me in with the French so much.
You are a scholar and a gentleman! Seriously, thanks! I'm keeping that handy.crispyben said:"Arrêtez de faire des réserves de dynamite et d'eau bénite !"
Or you could instruct them to use said items: "Utilisez la dynamite et l'eau bénite !"greenjerk said:You are a scholar and a gentleman! Seriously, thanks! I'm keeping that handy.

Having a blast, though I feel that the Rockstaresque characters are wearing out their charm with every game. Quirky is nice but quirky for the sake of being quirky is getting old.
Nekofrog said:I've been playing this for a few days. When I first started, I was absolutely enchanted by the game. The setting, the characters, everything clicked. It was perfect.
Then I kept playing. I don't know, maybe it's just me, but the repetitive nature of the missions is really getting to me. Every mission turns into the same run-n-gun objective. It's almost like an old RPG where all you have to do is keep pressing a button to win. Does the game get any better, gameplay wise? Any more variety? I'm getting a bit tired of charging into a gunfight, holding a trigger, and tapping A to shoot and win pretty much every time, with little thought or variety to the mission.
Oh, except sometimes I get to ride a horse and shoot from that.
kinoki said:Well, I'm getting a ton of satisfaction with walking, crouched, with my repeater unloading round after round into enemies. Could be that after shooting a civilian at the start of the game due to the targeting system and switching to expert mode made a world of difference. Wasn't even until recently I discovered Dead Eye but I don't really feel it adds anything to the game.
Bizzyb said:After I found how ridiculously easy it was I switched to expert mode and that made a world of difference.
Well there's horse races, infiltration and escort missions later on.Nekofrog said:I've been playing this for a few days. When I first started, I was absolutely enchanted by the game. The setting, the characters, everything clicked. It was perfect.

MoonsaultSlayer said:Quick question: Is there a free roam option with the Undead pack?
MoonsaultSlayer said:So I'm now. Where do I find the Love is Opiate stranger mission? I haven't come across it apparently and I need to complete it for an outfit.Jack Marston
Bizzyb said:It starts in Nueva Pariso, in like that most Southern town on the East Side. I can't think of the name, but it's a town nestled way in the south and to the east of Chuperosa.
MoonsaultSlayer said:Edit: Thanks, it worked. I'm still curious about the stranger missions now.... If I didn't do a single stranger mission up to this point,as JackSeems odd.Does that mean I'd be able to tackle all the stranger missions as Jack... meaning the VA potentially recorded all that dialogue for many people to miss out on?

Was going for the bearly legal trophy and I was on the last bear when it killed me because it decided to just hover over me until I died. Wiped all that hard work away. FUCK. I'm done for the day.
Bizzyb said:horse + knife = achievement
MoonsaultSlayer said:I don't find them very difficult to kill it's just one was right there after i had skinned one and i had no dead eye left nor any time to react since it just stayed right above me until i died. It's just frustrating that i have to do it again... but it's not hard.
By knife, do you mean the throwing knife or just sitting there and slashing away while on your horse? I just picture the horse being taken out that way very easily, no?
Bizzyb said:I seem to recall there being an achievement for killing a bear with Just the knife. Maybe you are not there yet.
MoonsaultSlayer said:Yeah, that was for one of the master hunter challenges. I was using your tip against two bears running at them joust style and slicing away. I got too slow at one point and my horse was killed. I got up, dodged out of the way of an attack, sliced one bear for a fatal blow while also being attacked. I was nearly dead but hurried and swapped to my rifle to take out the "back-up" bear. It was way more intense than I make it seem.

recklessmind said:It's in a moment like this that I realized RDR has a pretty serious flaw: quick weapon switching under duress. You seem to have beaten the odds there... but I bet most people die fumbling with the weapon wheel.
If they could find some way to let you switch between two weapons (like the last weapon you used) w/o having to use the wheel... that would cut down on so much clunky frustration in tense moments.
Btw... if you're out in the wild doing challenges, it's a good idea to save your progress often, so you don't lose the things you've collected. The easiest, fastest way to save your game is to switch your horse. Every time you switch your horse it saves immediately/automatically.
woah its been a while but here goes:MoonsaultSlayer said:Tips on disarming 6 people for the final sharpshooter challenge? I keep killing them instead so any gun recommendations and where to do it would be great.
