Wow, they didn't rip into Blart as much as I thought they would. I was expecting another Jack and Jill style beat down.

I don't know, it was just a given that Kevin James is worse than Rob Schneider and David Spade. They couldn't even pretend like it was a hard choice.

I'm pretty sure people have been killed for less cruel insults.

They've said in the past that there's little point to rehashing the Sandler stuff, so you're not going to get a Jack and Jill style review from them on the subject.

What Jay brought up, and what I wish was almost more of the focus of the entire review, is the comparison of James to Spade to Schneider, and so on. Who is the worst, who's the best, what are each of their strengths (if any)? Are these movies that much worse than something like Black Sheep, or Coneheads, or some of the other 90s SNL alumni movies?* Also, for a nice product placement casino gag, I'd direct people to The Incredible Burt Wonderstone where James Gandolfini gives a very funny commercial for Bally's casino. It's a funny moment, that is a product placement, but a bit of a tongue-and-cheek one.

*Nostalgia is a hell of a drug, and comedy, as Ebert used to say, is like sex and very personal, but Black Sheep is bad, Coneheads is bad, and Ladies Man is bad (but I still like that one).

Coneheads is hilarious.

Anyone who disagrees is wrong.

I can't remember if it was in this episode, or a podcast, or something I read in the last 48 hours, but there was a comment from someone along the line that in movie theaters seeing trailers, some people really laugh at these "bad movies" while others don't which make the pauses for laughs really amusing. For example, I remember seeing the trailer for The Interview and the entire theater was laughing throughout the trailer (I was the lone silent person failing to understand why Franco making faces and Rogen phoning it in was funny, because these two suck and so did that movie). Then, there was a trailer for the Kevin Hart movie where he works weddings or something, and NO ONE LAUGHED AT ANYTHING (including the "oh, look at those homosexuals" joke at the end of it which they banked on being the biggest laugh since it was at the end). And, then I saw a trailer for some business movie with Vince Vaughn where I laughed fairly hard at one of the jokes in the trailer while everyone else was silent.

Anyway, comedy is really subjective, and while I'd still rather watch Coneheads than any Sandler movie, or any of the movies I mentioned from the trailers, I still wouldn't say it's good. Coneheads would be on the upper end of bad, maybe something like a 2 or 2 1/2 star movie on the Ebert scale, but that would still be a thumbs down from me.

And the worst thing is, the that the guy that got banned for that shit, went to the RLM sub reddit to fucking bitch about it. take a look

Fun. I look forward to that guys return again and again and again and again

Seriously he has nothing better to do than peddle the last of us on these guys?

Personally the sentiment of a reviewer should be that they are "open" to playing and reviewing anything, but they are free to construct and plan their content schedule as they deem. In this case, they aren't really reviewers so much as they are content providers, so it has to still be entertaining while informative.

A normal reviewer typically doesn't have to pay that much attention to being entertaining.

But constantly hounding them to play a game is just sad and bizarre. Games, man.

Last of Us fans are really weird about people not liking Last of Us. They just won't accept it as a possibility. Jeff Gerstmann had no interest in playing Last of Us and he got hounded for it.

The dumbest part about it all is that they really, really wouldn't want to hear Jack's opinion on it, because it's easy to see why Jack would hate the game. He'd start dicking around within five minutes and laugh about how stupid it is that Ellie is never in any actual danger.

And he'd be right. That god damned invisible superhero should have been leading me around the apocalypse by hand and warning me of upcoming threats

And then he's "Not playing it right" and not giving it a chance, and then they'd just complain about that.

So I'm watching the "Best of the Worst" series, because I like the fact that they can actually use their expertise on those movies.

But what really caught my attention was the third episode and the reaction of the single female viewer (in that episode) to things in the movies, which is like, the polar opposite of what the guys are thinking. Like them going "I want to see this movie", while meanwhile she looks like she's considering multiple counts of murder. :p
(also the birthing scene in Xtro.)

Other than that, I like Joss and Jake or whatever their names are. They contrast the usual tone of the crew very well.

edit: and Mass Effect 3 strikes again! It got a reference for awfulness with Deadly Prey.

edit 2: and Hard Ticket to Hawaii has a scene that beats Punisher: War zone. If does in fact, feature a rocket launcher.

I started listening to their Pre Rec Hotline Miami 2 stream and had to turn it off after 20 minutes or so, because they were constantly thanking new subscribers, with sound effects and all that shit. It's like the worst of Twitch found its way to Pre Rec. I fucking hate it. Did they stop it in later streams?

Recently they switched to just thanking them every hour or so. Because they agree it's really annoying.

Never understood this Twitch culture where you have to thank each person individually for subscribing. I couldn't give a fuck if someone acknowledges my subscription or not.

There are some streamers who barely read chat, and people are so thirsty for attention that they donate money with a message attached just so they can get the streamer to read something they've said.

Some people get annoyed because Chick Fil A emplyees say "My pleasure" after every transaction, but on whole they find it gives people a better opinion of the service.

They played Dead Rising recently right? Their stream times don't really work for me and their Youtube channel is so far behind that I never know what they've been playing at any given time.

Internet Sensation Rich Evans is going to get that twitch money and leave those hackfrauds to their stupid movie show no one cares about

I hadn't watch a pre rec stream in a few weeks.

I tuned in just in time to hear there opinion of Five night's at Freddys.

Had to turn it off again. They were huge assholes about it: (
Shame because they don't normally act like that.

Wow. I don't watch movie trailers at all and haven't seen most of the movies depicted in that video, but that was hilarious and tiring.

Not anymore.

For as much as Jack likes to prop up himself as a production guy, his stream production leaves a lot to be desired :p
They're back again. If anyone's interested. I never watch live though. I usually wait and cherry pick from the YouTube archive.

i think his expertise lies mostly in video editing, so i can see how he has issues with setting up audio production (not typically something you focus a whole lot on as a video producer/editor depending on projects you do), but at this point they really should have figured out the issues they're having and simplify what they have hooking up.

looks like the twitch exporter fixed itself.

i usually watch all of the youtube videos again while im at work, so its nice to have more stuff again

So, listening to the GTA stream, I was reminded once again that they tried three times and failed to do a Howard the Duck commentary track (that I hope they do one of these days), and it got me thinking about their commentaries. Are the Plinket ones any good? I think I downloaded the Phantom Menace one, but not the other two. But, I can't remember anything from the Phantom Menace one, so I don't know.
