I tried Redfall three times...three..

Longest I made it was around 5 hours...but the sheer boredom of the horrible combat mechanics and absent atmosphere gets me every time.

Mindseye I am likely never gonna try.

PS4 outsold Xbox One 10:1 in India. Where did you get friends to play Redfall?

I keep hearing about MindsEye but I never actually looked up to see what type game it is.

Is it that bad? Ride to hell level of bad or is it just technical mess?

It's neither. It's its own fascinating mess. And it's been patched up as best as it can for now. Just give it a shot when it's cheaper.

Didn't play either, but Mindseye literally looked like it barely worked and it was super bare bones as far as gameplay goes. When I saw the chase sequence where you could hold down the fire with the assault rifle without ever needing to reload the gun, I knew how incredibly half assed that game was.
Redfall looked like it could have been an okayish co-op game for 34.99 price tag on release. It had major flaws but I heard some people still having some fun with it.

Loved Redfall after playing it a year later post patches. Finished it. MindsEye was a dumpster fire beginning to end when I played it.

This should be about Concord vs MindsEye.

Concord isn't part of the discussion because it is the worst game and would win the poll easily.

This thread also stemmed from the ninja gaiden 4 thread where this topic idea came to be.

I vote Redfall. Arkane Austin made one of my top 10 games of all time (Prey 2017) so the bar was high and the letdown was massive.

mindseye was from a no name studio started by a great producer. I was intrigued but not surprised at the result

Only played Redfall but it was almost a good game. They almost salvaged something from whatever GaaS crap it was originally going to be, but then didn't have the time to prevent it having massive flaws like literal braindead AI and bullet proof leaves.
Mindseye it sounds like they were much further from making an actual working game.

I have a thing for bad games so I have played both.

Mindseye isn't that bad when it works. And yeah it's like something that needed a year of development but got thrown out anyways.

Mindseye is a mess but Redfall is just a catastrophic failure on every front.

Ralph's review always makes me laugh, it's so good.

Mindseye was a mess???.......a mess is putting lightly.
Thats very kind of you to say.

Then he pivoted, alleging "internal and external" forces had been working to scupper the MindsEye launch.

He told the assembled workers - who'd been informed they faced redundancy just a week earlier - there would be an effort to root out "saboteurs" within the company.

"I find it disgusting that anyone could sit amongst us, behave like this and continue to work here," he said, according to a transcript of the meeting verified by BBC Newsbeat.

Staff who worked at the studio say they were stunned - and not only by the strength of the language. They simply didn't believe him.

Between 2020 and 2024, the company posted losses totalling £202.6m, with its largest for a single year - £59.1m - coming in 2023.
"Leslie never decided what game he wanted to make," says Jamie. "There was no coherent direction".

This style of working "plagued the project from the start", they say, and would be a sign of things to come.
Former audio programmer Isaac Hudd says "mistakes started piling up" during crunch, and says "regressions", where one team would fix a bug only for another to unwittingly bring it back to life, became increasingly common.
"People are burning the candle at both ends and starting to think: 'What's the point?'"

This shit was so bad the companies own employees are suing it.

This wasnt a mess, this legit is worse than Concord and RedFall combined might be the worst high profile launch of a game in many many years.

While I haven't played Mindseye so I can't judge it 100%, I did watch some videos.
It seems far more unplayable than Redfall. Redfall sucks, but not for the same reasons Mindseye sucks.

This thread is so pointless mate. You straight out could have asked which shit taste's better. Whoever defends any of these 2 fallen pieces of shit is out of his mind.

I wouldn't say a "which is the shittier game" thread is intended as a "defense" of anything.

I already knew that both these games from the released footage. I didn't play either of them and it didn't take long to find out that was the right call. No idea which one sucks more. No idea why I would care.

to the extent that i assumed that redfall was intentionally sophomoric/moronic by design, i had an okay time with it. i mean, it was intentional, right?...

Mindseye is far worse. Redfslall is at least playable. Minds eye cost 20 times more to develop and has no redeeming qualities

Deep Blue Sea is fire, fuck you mean?
Now, that I can sorta get behind, from a camp perspective. But as to Cliffhanger... really. As average as they come. And while John Lithgow can provably be a great villain (he was both terrific and terrifying in the original Dexter), in that, just no.

Who's farts wilts the most flowers?

I would say RedFall because, not for the first time to say the least, Xbox needed a boost and this was yet again another underwhelming release hyped up by the usual soulless ghouls pre release only to be a letdown.

Sprinkle on top yet another Phil Spencer post release tour in an attempt to be sincere. If you couldn't see that the game was shaping up to be something average at best then that's a problem.
