Wow that's a really good mock-up imho. Only thing i don't like is that it looks hard to use only one part of the controller when playing in 2 on the same console-

Reading the translations, I honestly can't see how the editorial team thought it would be perceived as a prank.

In Germany, it's 15:11 now, so yes. Regarding the question whether it IS a prank, consider this posting by what seems to be a writer for that site:

Thursday would be technical possible. But there is no reason to truelly expect anything except a German joke video coming in 45 minutes.

I personally still believe into a late September or first week of October reveal and at least expect it to be announced within the next two weeks. But that is pure speculation from my side.
 
I know people are clambering for info but isn't the rumoured reveal week next week? If so then don't expect a Direct announcement until a few days before, that's usually Nintendo's style. In this social media world they don't need long to generate buzz.
 
Going by how much effort they put into the Pokemon S/M game, I kind of believe more and more in the theory that they won't reveal NX until after Pokemon's launch. Unless there is also a port for NX.

Found something from that interview for those that think NX needs to be revealed after Pokémon Sun & Moon.

Given the NX will be released next March, won't that cause people to stop buying consoles this year?
Our business is a lively one. Of course, if you compare the Wii U to the Wii, you understand that situation. When the NX is released, the Wii U business will slow. But the 3DS has Pokemon coming this autumn, and that's such a big hit that I can't imagine the NX will have a negative impact on the 3DS.

My guess would be Nintendo announcing the announcement date tomorrow to try and take a little wind out of Sony's sails. If not tomorrow then who the hell knows anymore when Nintendo does anything, they work off their own clocks for better or worse...

Either way, if you are a "journalist" or want to be, making this kind of fake news isn't the way to do it. It's fine if you are a satire youtube channel or web page, but not if you want to be seen as a reliable source of information.

That was before Sony announced their event, and I'm pretty sure that was speculation all along anyway. If they're missing TGS, what's the point of announcing in September? Might as well give the 3DS announcements at least a month of breathing room before they get overshadowed.

Not really my type of humor. They also released a statement on their side explaining the whole thing and making it clear that they didn't intend the news to spread outside of their fanbase, that they are dissappointed because nobody asked them before sharing, and how extreme the situation became.
Basicly they explain how they messed up.

Such a shame they would miss TGS as that's a good opportunity to let 3rd parties openly talk about the NX and show off games.

I didn't know such a rule existed. Can you enligthen me about where it is actually written down? I mean, it's not plausible you came up with that while jumping to conclusions dramatically and furiously almost every time, so much that you've Flanderized yourself to comical levels in the past few months and your posts (save for some instances) read like mini-meltdowns, that's not you. You're always so mindful about your explanations and posts, and what you write is 100% valuable and much more clever than most of Gaffers can come up with, so I'm eager to read your post where you explain precisely where and how this rule has been created. If there's a link, I'd gladily read it; I'm always open to read delightful and completely reasonable documents explaining how things go in the world. I'll patiently wait for your mindful answer.
