For what it's worth, I think most of us would love a good Captain Marvel film, and really hope it's great.
It's just... if Marvel had come up with an interesting angle for Carol and had a good story around it making her an interesting character, it's odd they've not used it for the last fifteen years of comics and only made a great Ms Marvel book by... having someone else be Ms Marvel.
There's no character that needs it more than Carol, too. Marvel writers have failed repeatedly to update and modernize her for current readers.
Black Panther is going to be amazing.
A handful of obnoxious nerds on NeoGAF have made a hobby out of overstating their dislike for a fictional character. It's literally nothing.
Im just glad costumes are an accepted thing now. Some studios are still embarrassed by them Marvel don't give a fuck.

Folks said the Cap. Marvel costume mostly looked like this:
As Park and Ant-Man director Peyton Reed looked on, a cluster of journalists stared intently at the images, which showed Larson-as-Carol in three poses: a medium close-up of her face and shoulders; a less revealing version of Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman pose on a rocky outcrop; and one with the Captain in full battle mode, punching up to connect with the mechanized fist of a much larger robotic creature. In all of them, Carol is wearing the same red-and-blue suit, which bears a striking resemblance to the Jamie McKelvie character redesign from 2012—including a high collar and zipper. The red in the new art is darker than what we usually see Carol wear in the comics; it looks like the palette may have been deepened to match the cinematic Captain America's. And though the material read as shiny, it resembled Cap's hardier cinematic fabric more than the clingy spandex we see on the page.
In the concept art at Marvel Studios, the sash was gone and replaced with a thin, dark-red belt to match her red gauntlets and boots. And the star emblazoned on Carol's chest read as more white to me than traditional yellow.
Larson herself already admitted the character has a long and complicated history that will mostly be jettisoned in favour of a new approach. I couldn't be happier and I like Carol (before her intense character assassination in CWII).
Outside of whining from alt-right sites, I think that Black Panther is pretty bulletproof when it comes to claims of racism.
I'm 100% positive that Captain Marvel will be a good movie, doesn't mean that I can't also just dislike what they're doing with her rn in comics because...yikesLarson herself already admitted the character has a long and complicated history that will mostly be jettisoned in favour of a new approach. Black Panther sounds great but my eyes rolled into the back of my head at that mixtape joke. Who wrote that? lol

That Roman Reigns push will continue tho

We already forgot about Iron Fist huh?
God that event was a piece of shit from all sidesExactly, they've pushed her way too hard without first having a strong unified vision of what her character needs to be. After a couple of short runs that failed to catch fire, the next step shouldn't have been to push her to the forefront of a major crossover event where she continues to piss off more readers. Civil War II was just so poorly conceived on many different levels and she was one of the main problems.
Captain Marvel is a bad character. But people are assuming it'll be a faithful adaptation, which it's sounding less and less like. Between loosely adapting the comic Carol and Brie Larson as the lead role, there's a lot of potential to make something good.
To be fair Danny is barely the Iron Fist in that show. If he put the costume on it wouldn't have been deserved. He still hasn't earned the title.
Not really IMO. Their footprints are massive, but it's a small subgenre compared to most other genres and subgenres. 6, 7, 8 movies in a year is nothing for a genreThe amount of comic book movies that are being produced right now is insane.

Isn't it rumoured she will be?Black Panther in Korea? Do they want all my money?
HELL YEAH
You know that shit is just gonna be a hoodie. He might as well look like a less than cool version of Karnak.
the sash better look good. Not liking that description
Gunn revealed Monday that he will return to write and direct Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and he teased that just as the first ten years of Marvel's movies built to 2018's Avengers: Infinity War, the third Guardians film would help set up the next ten years of movies. Feige suggested Gunn's relationship with Marvel could extend past that film, which does not yet have a release date.
They had an Iron Fist costume, it's just that Danny didn't wear it.

Knew the first part, giddy about the second.
what's this from? i dropped out of IF like 7 episodes in... only MCU thing i've dropped to date :/
Feige's contract is up next year. I wonder what they're gonna have to pay him to keep him.
Isn't it rumoured she will be?
Auntie M has been getting the well deserved push in comics as of late, too
Can you imagine if WB decided to get into a bidding war?

I'm going to be pissed if they give her Monica's origin and if Monica is relegated to black best friend status.
is Monica even in the MCU yet?
maybe they'll have Valkyrie show up in CM and be her friend
The approach being taken for the upcoming film shows Scott Lang in both ant- and giant-form but goes further by introducing vehicles which can alter both their own dimensions and their passengers. In one piece of art, Luis' van is seen dodging giant rain drops as it chases another car.
Elsewhere, a trio of designs for The Wasp were hanging. Reed pointed out that one was a classic Hope Van Dyne design while the two others featured an approach which mirrors the Ant-Man's design and scheme. The middle image featured a blue, gold, and white design with the top one being a copy of the black, red, and silver Ant-Man scheme.
Some fun pieces saw a dog eating a shrunken car, Ant-Man using a shaken bottle of Coca-Cola turned giant, and Ant-Man and The Wasp running from gigantic looking snake-like insects.
I imagine (read: hope) we'll be introduced to her and possibly Kamala in CM. If only just a small cameo for the latter.
I wanna see what happens when you open a giant bottle of Coke after it's been shaken.
I didn't like Ant Man that much, but this sounds awesome
