Yeah we'll have Pence or Ryan in office. 4 to 8 years of particularly shitty republicans getting to fuck things up despite the fact no one voted for either of them.

That's the most realistic "good" outcome as it follows procedure far as I know and frankly they're both more qualified as presidents anyway and may make relatively sensible cabinet picks rather than Trump's seeming obsession with going for the very worst.

EDIT: Though it doesn't help at all if Republicans are being complacent as hell with this. Does the integrity of your fucking country not fucking matter you shitlords?!

Won't do shit. Everything seems to be dying down. The only thing that came out was the Flynn news and that seems to be just nothing right now. We can only hope someone says something. Just need a solid leak to keep the ball going.

Are you kidding? Every political and investigative journalist will be chasing this story until it's settled on way or another. This is a career defining story, whoever breaks it will be a legend.

That's not even considering foreign governments who really don't want the US to be a Russian puppet.

Someone said in this very thread this is not how Intelligence Agencies are, Trump can change appointees, but a lot of the long standing assets cant be removed that easily precisely to prevent something like this from happening.

EDIT: found the post, it came from another poster here sure, but it make sense that it works like this:

It's probably in the EU's best interest for them to get this done, because it would both keep NATO alive while also helping to subdue the alt-right that's stirring over there.

I sort of wonder if maybe he got a call from his boss who was trying to rein him in a bit and that made him go full conspiracy theory mode? Don't forget he writes for the Observer, whose owner is Jared Kushner (aka Mr. Ivanka Trump).

I'm guessing what House Ds are so pissed about is they found out that Comey had been sitting on an FBI investigation into Trump's Russia connection for months yet refused to comment on it. Meanwhile, he gave a scathing press conference and sent out two letters discussing Hillary's emails. They should be fucking seething, the election was literally stolen from them by a partisan head of a three letter agency.

Hard to blame them with the inauguration just a week away. We all know that if nothing comes out *before* he is sworn in as president, the chances of anything meaningful happening before the next election become much smaller.

Well, wouldn't the Rep. be far more likely to turn on Trump once they're sure that Pence v(who'd follow party stances) wil be president, once Trump starts to go against traditionnal Republican stances?

Considering how they have behaved up until now? No... I don't think so. I think the vast majority of them just want power and money and really don't care about much beyond that.

I believe people are just used to the ~4 scandal per day rate, and are worried about the press/public being distracted. Nevertheless, this story has been building for weeks, and ties a lot of strands together.
