Technically, this poster was 100% correct. It's simply fucking math. 96 confirmed cases, 6 deaths. 6/96 = 6.25%.
It's not going to stay that way as more cases are found and deaths don't keep up, but it's correct AS OF THAT POSTING.

I noticed someone posted my comment pages ago that got me a perma on resetera a few weeks ago.
I am a moderate Republican and said that while I would consider Biden or Mayor Pete, I would definitely vote Trump over Sanders.
I ended up having a civil discussion with some posters for awhile(I ignored replying to the ones calling me a fascist) after that but about an hour later was banned for that original post for "inflammatory support". To be fair, a fair number of posters did question why I received a ban(especially a permanent one) but of course others were like "good job mod, banning that Trump supporting trash"
I was a bit surprised since I had been posting there for a significant time and never received any bans or hell even a warning. However, like I said I was only a bit surprised. The politics discussion over there has largely become a Bernie supporting echo chamber. Even people supporting Warren, Biden, etc, or those who dare to be critical of socialism have received temporary bans.
Ah well, the crazy mod who perma banned me probably did me a favor. The place has become bitter, nasty hellscape, While I never really paid attention to who the Admins and mods were, I did notice the moderation and bans becoming much more harsh and often ridiculous than during the early days of the site.

That is just terrible advice. Telling someone who is basically a kid themselves to have a vasectomy, which may not be reversible. Potentially something he may regret for the rest of his life. No bans for that genuinely irresponsible behaviour though.

I’m old enough to remember a guy named Frank O’Connor who looked exactly like this guy reviewing games on the magazine C+VG in the early 90s, only he had hair at the time. The reviewers were represented with caricatures on the mag, but those were accurate enough that I can recognize the same facial features in this pic of O’Connor. Can anyone tell me if it’s indeed the same person?

He first wrote for UK magazines, then moved to the US and wrote for a few, the illfated Ultimate Gamer and the equally illfated Game Buyer relaunch of Game Players, eventually running the Official Xbox Magazine, then from there got hired at 343 and worked his way up from something like community manager to ResetERA.com shitposter.

The bans posted in the last couple of pages here should be proof enough that those people are on the best power trip of their life. They’ll find a way to ban you if they have to pretend they can read your mind to do it. But the real reason for most of those bans is they had a grudge against someone or something IRL and decided to ban somebody for a totally innocuous post on an Internet message board to give themselves a dopamine shot, because they don’t have the guts or the energy to stand up to something that’s bothering them IRL. It’s really that simple. This is the behavior of irresponsible people, and of tyrants. This is what the Inquisition did on a much grander scale: you’re guilty - and we don’t even really care to find out what you’re guilty of, because you are anyway.
My previous post was sarcastic, of course. Surely you don’t need an explanation for those bans, because it’s clear as day there isn’t any. This is just Era mods being Era mods, and there’s been plenty of examples of this already.
