It's kind of crazy, but a lot of straight up white dudes in there are calling for the execution (well, banning) of a gay black man on the staff. I started reading the thread most recent posts and working backwards, so like many of you I didn't know what "acephobia" was either. I googled it. Like WTF?
At first I was thinking, acephobia? Is it some guy playing cards who doesn't like getting pocket aces or something? lol
But what a shitshow at Reeeeeee.
That thread made by Gundam is new (less than an hour old), so you can't expect mods to jump in at 1:30 am (EST). But don't expect any response until tomorrow morning.
No doubt, there will some cheesy 9 am meeting where they all email each other secretly or do some Skype thing to hash out what to do.
Check out this post. As if the users and mods who flocked over to Resetera were all saints.

Although this whole incident is pretty funny, there are two things that stick out to me though:
1. Despite KetKat noticing some shady content in those private Discord chats the mods do, to be far it is a private chat. You can't be logging into places youre not supposed to have access to. It's like finding out a login of any of you guys and snooping around.
2. If this whole debacle is about outing mods, I want some detailed dirt. Where's KetKat posting image snapshots of people's posts? Even though banned now, pass that info to someone else or Kiwi Farms or a burner Twitter account. I wanna see some hilarious acephobic material and any other funny shit that went down.

Who knows. I don't know exactly when all this sensitivity shit happened. Maybe started cropping up 10 years ago? And snowballed the last 5? All this politically correct manbaby stuff definitely was not around when the internet got widely up and running around 2000 when everyone's favourite sites were Hotmail, Yahoo Search and Geocities..... and for a good laugh (and surprisingly unique content), a quick check on Ask Jeeves! lol
The amazing thing is it's mostly adults acting like this, where people aged mostly 20-40 come out of nowhere complaining like brats. It's not 6 year olds in grade 1 acting like pussies.
The same people who would tell their own kids to not act like a baby in elementary school, but act just that as a grown up.

TLDR Isamu Fukui is a homophobe that tried along with a few other students to get a gay librarian fired for misconduct then it was found out that this librarians actions were exactly the same as a straight female librarian when it came to telling the students to be quiet in the library (by whispering in their ear to be quiet). He then made up a bunch of bullshit about inappropriate touching by this gay librarian.

I have this theory that the vocal segment is the type that want perpetual drama/conflict with no solutions in site. They honestly don't know what their "we made it!" condition is. They find constantly railing against something to be cathartic and coupled with the relative anonymity of the internet, gives them a degree of power they lack in their real lives. They tackle what they consider to be the easy targets within their group and when that loses its emotional punch, turns inward. They don't want positive change or persuding people in discussion. That's why they can't stand being opposed or debated. It's never truly about the specific points. It's about the power. They want drama and they want the illusion of power over others. And they do this under the guise of a video game forum along with other places.

I don't want to put in Lore's mouth but gaf started as an enthusiasts forum. People flocked to it because it was a great place to discuss all sorts of hobbies even outside of videogames.

The old GAF had more posts, but when I read it, there were two issues.... threads moved too fast some times and the moderation was sad with people getting banned a lot.
Never the less, I barely read Gaming-Age way back when gaming sites were new. And no doubt I never checked GA's forums. Of course everyone knows GAF came from GA, but I never really wondered why a game forum became so big from a game site to be it's own thing. Didn't know the forum came from a big community that included lots of non-gaming people.
