The US politics has given up on try to show that they can run the country better. For few presidential election, and especially the last one, they found out it is much more efficient to discredit the opposition than trying to propose a good and achievable plan.
For a long time, US presidential was a show and as it evolves with its time, it's getting closer and closer to a TV reality show. But don't worry, the rest of the world is copying and following the same path currently.
