Resident Evil 4 Not Running True Widescreen

Its understandable, its a problem of market view. Widescreen T.V is not norm in television ownership. But it would have been for those that do have 16:9 televisions. Maybe some of the major media sites can push to get it implemented.

Uh...why are you trying to turn this into an "East vs West" issue? As people have stated more than once in this thread, Beyond Good & Evil did the same thing, so it's hardly limited to Japanese-developed games. And I don't see how it makes much of a difference for the "East"...maybe if there was an actual trend to talk about.

Because 95% of the developers doing 16:9 are Western developers (http://www.hdtvarcade.com/xboxlist.htm)... then when Eastern developers do try to do 16:9, they don't implement it to the fullest extent.

I said before that it's a minor issue. It certainly wouldn't stop me from getting the game if I was a fan of the series. But overall, there are people that seek out these features in games and Western developers seem to be more on the cutting edge.

True indeed, it should change next gen, well hopefully.

some of u don't understand that RE4 is pushing GC hardware to the limits already., Another 1/5 of the screen to render would kill it. It would cause unconsitant slowdowns, and that's why capcom decided to have a good framerate instead.

No online content
No widescreen

How retarded is that?

"Wind Waker had widescreen, right?"

Of course not, it's made in Japan.
