I don't really have many answers for you but
Carla was a scientist who Simmons turned into a Chrysalid that then birthed Ada. Ada used to work for Simmons but then she left and he was obsessed with her and wanted to recreate her. I don't know who the blonde chick is though, maybe she was Carla before the transformation?

I see. Thanks!

BTW, the last cutscene, after the Ada credits -- a preview of RE7's next main protagonist perhaps?

I just finished Leon's campaign and am half way through Chris...I don't get the hate. This game is way better than 5 just by not having retarded Sheva using all my ammo and actually having independent loot drops for coop. I also enjoyed moving/shooting and the dodge/roll more than I thought.

The blonde chick with Simmons in the picture is Carla; you can tell because it's shown around the same time it's revealed in audio that Carla was used by Simmons to make his Ada clone when he ran out of other suitable test subjects. Since Carla was a star BOW designer for Simmons, he had to be crafty to trick her into becoming the subject of her own experiments. Since Carla had something like a crush on Simmons -- the game says she always craved his approval -- she obviously felt crushed and betrayed and, as the file goes, once what was left of Carla's mind took hold, she sought to undo everything Simmons wanted -- namely, a certain world order established by the Illumanti-like "Family," operating behind the scenes of global politics. Meanwhile, I believe the files say that Simmons worked with Ada prior to Raccoon City; she was in his employ at once as a spy, iirc, and he developed an obsession with her. I believe the files say this was at odds with Simmons' usual logical demeanor.

Yes. Leon's campaign on Pro was a breeze with an infinite magnum.
How does the carryover inventory work? I know it only works for the same character, but does it only work for the same difficulty as well? I finished Leon Amateur, so I know that playing as Helena I'll be starting from scratch, but what about Leon Professional?

Awesome! Thanks. I really need to get the rest of those serpent emblems to unlock all the extra tidbits of story. Though the game has its issues, I still lap the RE story up. It's like General Hospital (circa 1970s) set in a horror/sci-fi universe.

Alright, first time seriously playing Steel Beast solo... I lost the combo at 84 :(

Stupid grasshopper enemy I was waiting to spawn he came out of nowhere and knocked me on the ground.

But now I know how to keep the combo going from 133 -> 150.

There are enemies in a little building on the opposite side of the level that the Napads come from. Save them for the end. When the pincer guys start coming, go up the side of the stairs where the little building is (even though the pincer guys spawn mostly from the opposite side), kill the guys in that room to keep the combo going, and by the time you're done with them, the pincer guys and exploding guys will have made their way to your side of the level, then you deal with them and by that time you're already halfway up the stairs and the parachuters have landed so you can quickly move to them and get another kill.

Hmm interesting, so I imagine you don't get the time crystal in that room until then? Because I usually go into that room to pick up the crystal and those dudes leave the room and follow me outside.

Yeah, I think that'll work. I just tried it though and it didn't work out for me, lol.

There were only two guys in there this time... last time there were 5 or 6 for some reason.

Might have to do with the fact that I started on the bottom this time instead of the top.
The pincer and exploding guys were coming at me pretty slowly from the other end. Luckily, some of them just run into dead ends and explode by themselves, and some of them spawn from right above that room as well

It almost worked out, though, I ran up to the top at combo 132 and a rocket launcher j'avo had just landed. I was out of magnum ammo (playing as Sherry) and just unloaded on him with the triple shot but didn't kill him fast enough, lost the combo...

I also for some reason was running out of time and time ran out at 140 kills. In my last match I lost the combo at 84 and still had like 1.5 - 2 minutes when I got to the top for the last enemies

edit: the grasshopper j'avo are real combo killers, too. They come at you so slowly. For that entire segment I was strugging to find one before the combo ran out

Yes, they spawn on the bottom level, yes they're easy to spot.

But they spawn at either end alternating one at a time... and take FOREVER to get to you.

Okay, nevermind that strategy, it only worked for me once and subsequent attempts have ended in me losing the combo and then running out of time...

This hidden trophy in Chris' campaign is pissing me off. I'm not getting hit at all and still nothing. I really dont want to play chapter 4 for the 4th time today.

Is this the one with the
plane? I just barrel-rolled (RB) every time an enemy came near me and I got the achievement.

You get the achievement/trophy the second Piers fires at the missile. Enough time to hit start and restart the checkpoint if don't get it. No need to play the whole chapter again to get to that point.

That kind of sucks, wouldn't unlimited ammo on the handgun be a lot more useful considering you have to get through the first 3 chapters? Or I guess the best option is both if you have the skill points saved up.

I don't think your question was properly answered so here goes. When you do chapter select, you keep all weapons you've already gotten with that specific character. So if you got the magnum on your first run, you'll have it on chapter 1 when you play it again.

What are the chances of us getting Ada-sized campaigns for Claire/Jill as DLC? Quite fancy that, even if they're completely unrelated to the rest of the story.

Same here, it is one of the easiest feats to accomplish.

Man, even with infinite ammo on this game is looooong.

Thanks for the tips everyone. I'll just mash R2 the whole time. If I dont get it I'll be sure to restart at that exact moment.

I'd say Claire is pretty likely, given her mentions and her ties to the main cast. She is the only RE2 character to not appear in this game after all.

That would be pretty cool.

I'm really liking this game a lot more than I was expecting to. I find it so much more enjoyable than RE5 with its controls and forced coop. I'm never worried about the AI partner in RE6 and it's great.

Man me and StunandStab were blowing through Steel Beast.
How do you activate the boss on that map? Only one I haven't gotten.

25 Coup de Grace kills before 80 kills

How I do it is just shoot a j'avo in the head and then slide into them. A quickshot instead of a headshot works too but it's hard on your stamina

The Gnezo is the secret boss, and is a real pain if you don't kill it right away unfortunately

yeah but it would be hard to figure out a way to involve her imo.

Not really, a mission where she goes in search for Chris during his MIA period and she runs into some shit seems quite doable. Like CV. Same for Jill. Obviously neither would be tied to the main story, but I'm sure they could come up with something.

It bothers me that Jill wasn't looking for Chris... I feel like they have to fix this. Or at least backtrack and say she was helping coordinate the search.

Lol yeh, that whole Chris thing was handled poorly considering it makes no sense that neither Claire nor Jill didn't scour the earth for him.

She's just not that into him.

I could easily debunk this... if imgur would actually let me upload my gifs without errors. :(

That site used to work nicely for me, now I can't upload anything.

Lol... Claire I can almost understand. I mean if you consider what transpired the last time she went in search of him. haha

But Jill is like a superhero now, so she should be handling that. Not freakin Piers. This game would have been way better if it was Jill and Chris as a team. one of them (real spoiler)
still could have died... at the end

Seems like Capcom is pretty set on never actually letting Chris and Jill team up during a game. Plus with RE6 they used one returning character partnered with a new one for each campaign, for whatever reason.

Did you play Revelations? Chris and Jill are teamed up for the entire second half of the game, and they act like they care about each other and are driven to be reunited leading up to that point (especially on Chris' end).

RER is fantastic, by the way.

Maybe they should have put that game out on more than just one shitty handheld.... frigging hate handhelds. /growl

They should really port RER to WiiU. Reason being, I wouldn't want to lose the elegantly layered second screen functionality, not only used for puzzles but for item mangement, quick select and map (though you can still use the d-pad for items). But man, RER is such a great game. Fantastic story with a huge ensemble cast and multiple conspiracies, the origins of the BSAA and the dissolution of the FBC... Dripping with atmosphere, rich in detail, a truly cohesive sense of place, great episodic structure, backtracking and puzzle-solving in the main ship, some legit scares, great foreshadowing, Dante's Inferno quotes introducing each chapter and themes running throughout, cool action-centric asides to keep things fresh, and just immaculately tight and polished design throughout. It also has the consistently best soundtrack in the series, RE5 being second place and RE6 being third. That haunting chamber chorus song that plays while Jill and Chris are scuba-diving in the sunken ship... Seriously, listen to this. RER should've been RE6, and RE6 should've been RE7.

Are you referring to Raid mode? Just as addictive as Mercs -- 21 full-fledged missions, spanning entire levels from the campaign, with loot and leveling and multiple paths; team up or go alone, equip perks and in the case of Ghost Ship, you get the entire cruise ship -- crew quarters, kitchen, upper cabins, lower cabins, promenade deck, banquet hall, observation deck, casino, engine room, cargo hold, bilge block, bridge, captain's quarters, main deck, main hall, the labs, etc, with multiple paths to the true ending, where they throw multiple lv. 50 bosses at you all at once (including three Rachels and multiple Scagdeads, holy shit). They need to add this mode to future REs!

On a side note, Jill looks damn good in a wetsuit. So does Jessica, though I prefer her in her FBC uniform. <3

Actually I was referring to the fact they substituted a cheap Lara Croft knockoff for Jill Valentine... but that Raid mode does sound quite interesting.

*cocks head* Eh? How do you mean? Jill is great in Revelations. Check out some cutscenes on YouTube, it's the same Jill we know and love. :)

I already watched the entire game on youtube because I'm a huge geek... and because I'm a huge geek, and I will admit to being a JV geek, I cannot accept what was done to her face and that they didn't use Patricia Ja Lee for the VA.

As far as the "character" I didn't have much to complain about. Would've been great if it was actually Jill Valentine. o_O

Well, not sure what to tell you there. I thought she looked good, and felt consistent enough in terms of appearance. :)

I hope you were able to find a YouTube playthrough that was direct-feed. RER looks lovely in person. You didn't watch an offscreen playthrough, did you? I know there was a direct-feed playthrough around the time the game came out.

I'm actually looking for a better one. The only one I found of good quality had a shitty voiceover of some annoying douche who would never shut up, tell you what was coming next, and seemed to be speed running it.

Then I eventually settled on one of lesser quality, but thankfully without the horrid commentary, and this person was actually taking their time a bit... BUT... then I realized he was skipping around and I was missing bits.

So I went searching for the missing bits and... it was a pain in the butt but by now I've seen everything, I think. But not always in the greatest quality and not always without commentary. I don't think I ever found direct feed. If such a thing exists, and if it is the full game, and does not have annoying commentary or a break-neck pace, I'd probably be interested in watching it again. Because I did enjoy the plot, for the most part.

I hate it when people do voiceovers on YouTube. I wish they'd always upload two versions if they must talk, one with commentary and one without. In the meanwhile, it's not a full playthrough including gameplay, but apparently this playlist has all the cutscenes recorded via direct-feed (but seems a tad dark). I could've sworn there was a full playthrough as well, though, because I immediately wanted to see the last area of the game again after finishing it and found video online. :-\

(On another note, I see they included the TGS Rachel trailer, but that doesn't actually appear in the game. You never see Rachel alive in the actual game.)

especially coming right off of RE5 & Revelations.

Specter and I just rocked Steel Beast with a score of 1.296 million :D

150 combo with Gnezdo as the 150th kill.

It was awesome

Took a couple tries, and my stupid internet messing up.
Alot of fun though.

If anyone wants to try for some cool scores in mercs, add me on psn: Elgar-I
I currently have 1368k on UC duo, needs to be improved to something close to 1400k. Also Catacombs. Map is easy as fuck, have 1261k solo and played duo only 1 time with some random.
Score system sucks, but there is no choice but to accept it. Capcom wont change it anyway.

So I finshed Leon's campaign after restarting the other day. 1st one I've finished.

I'm gonna take a break and wait for the camera patch to drop as, like I said before, I REALLY think the default camera does a large diservice to the game's artstic merits.

Just don't feel like playing anymore when I know there's a fix for this on the horizon and kinda don't appreciate Capcom basically backed peddled on their design choice in the end.

I know, it's weird
