So apparently to get the really high scores in Mercenaries you have to save the secret boss that appears and kill him as number 150 in your combo. Also you're supposed to constantly counter enemies at the beginning until things start to get too crazy.
I don't think I'm hardcore enough to bother with all that though lol.
Sooo, first time on re.net
how does this thing work? i don't even know how to login with my ps3 account :/
They really need to dial back on the enemy designs.
WTF!?
The integral files in RE.NET have a huge amount of informations... why didn't they include them in the game?????
Not sure if it's the same files, but I'm pretty sure they are included in the game. They're in one of the sub-menus off the start screen. I think it's special features, and it opens up the 3 jukebox looking things. You can read the files there. I agree it would be better to integrate them into the actual game like they used to, but yeah, you don't have to read them on RE.net exclusively.

RE.net has not updated my account for like 3 days, and every time i go the the site they need me to login and link with my psn acct every single time. What gives?
I think they did that on purpose.
It's interesting though that whoever wrote the second part of the files for RE.net is a much worse writer than whoever wrote the files that are in the game. You can tell from the writing style that it is much more amateurish on RE.net, probably because they added it in later as a ploy to make RE.net more appealing and so used a different writer to flesh it out.
Ironically, I was just watching an older video where Capcom talks about "real-time" updating for player info to the site.
Yes, they are the same files, but they are not the full version... the second half of each file is exclusive to RE.Net..
Maybe there will be a game update in the next weeks?
am i the only one who thinks its hilarious to see mutated beasts with huge claws and legs use GUNS?
:lol
always kinda bothered me. and ofc this isnt the only game that does it, it just takes the scaryness away for me.
This might be answered more by Newsbot, but I think in this case they may have had different translators. It also should be noted that often times the parts left out are notes, diaries, or the like from other characters. They have emails from members of the Family, a note from Deborah, and even things like an email from Sheva to Piers. While I don't notice the drop in quality, I did notice the 'before and after' was written somewhat differently, namely the in-game files are much more... Human, whilas the out-game part of the files are more technical. Translating is often more art than science, which is why I think the translators for both parts were different and had different translation mentalities.
While my friend don't have his copy so we can Co-op, I've started playing some Mercenaries.
It seems that I can use the Points for this Mode but also for the Main Story. What's the best Starting Skills I should purchase? I think I'll be saving most of the points to the Main Story. Any tips?
Also, is there a way to see what and how can I unlock new costumes?
Thanks in advance fellow GAFfers.
I think this has to do with players online and checking the site, still ironing out issues. There even at the wee hours of the night are over 500,000 players playing online (at this very moment there are 589,979 players playing on the 360 online alone) and from some recent Japanese numbers it seem the game is selling well in Japan at least.
Yea it does. It is set to worldwide by default but you can also search for people in your region.Speaking of which, does the game allow for you to co-op worldwide? I'm gonna be playing on PS3, and from what I've read, it sold much, much less on that system. I figure if there's matchmaking worldwide, I'll have fewer issues hooking up with folks.

Just finished all the campaigns yesterday.
Like with nearly every boss fight in this game where it's less of a straight up battle and more of surviving until you figure out that one thing you have to do move on to the next phase, had to have been my favorite boss in the entire game due to the concept. Underdeveloped character to the point I honestly didn't care about her? Yes, but still an awesome fight.Ada's Chapter 4 Boss
I believe so. Just select All Regions when doing anything online.
Posted a new blog on 1UP that describes the throwbacks to previous RE games in Leon's campaign. HUGE SPOILER ALERT. http://www.1up.com/do/blogEntry?bId=9114552
Many of them can be seen as mere coincidences, but I still think these throwbacks were pretty cool.
I'll do the other three scenarios later on.

Really?I hated that boss. I knew exactly what I had to do from the very beginning I just couldn't do it for the longest since it keepsCarla's face?regrowing its face faster than I could shoot the tanks behind it.
Ada's entire campaign was pretty terrible IMO.
OH right, that boss. Yeah I was actually confused at first, then I noticed the tanks in the back. It was a fun encounter overall, though wish there would have been more of an actual fight.
I said before, but RE6 boss fights really can't compare to most of RE5. I'm using RE5 because RE4 is obviously out of the question, but RE5 had some really great boss fights. Nothing in this game can compare toWesker+Jill, Jill, any Wesker fight, and a lot of the others.

Ustanak has bad hair.
Also, I don't really think Ustanak is much like Nemesis. I was trying to rationalize this in my head. Of course I thought, "Well, Ustanak only appears during cutscenes and his appearance is scripted." Nemesis' appearance is often scripted too. But I dunno. Nemesis really pursues you and it feels organic. Ustanak isn't even competent. The wholewas awful.bug section
Ustanak is more like a joke character. Hislast appearance is a complete joke, with Jake punching him in the face like he's a giant clown.
Nemesis was menacing, scary, dangerous. There was no real feeling that he could be controlled once let out into the wild.
Ustanak has bad hair.
Sorry for the double post, but how in the hell do you usein Mercenaries? I barely made an A in Urban Chaos with her to get her costume.Ada

Yeah she sucks. Weaksauce bow gun doesn't cut it. Fatsos take a lot of explosive rounds as well. I had a hard time, luckily I played with a decent chap so that A came in anyway. But you could always unlock her alt at RE.net I think.
I guess you'll need to play headshot -> melee, and counter with her.
Steel BeastSorry for the double post, but how in the hell do you usein Mercenaries? I barely made an A in Urban Chaos with her to get her costume.Ada
Steel Beast
Quickshot + melee regular enemies
Quickshot(explosive arrow) mutated enemies
= Profit
Chris & Piers can't find a magnum right?
Awesome, you just gave me a reason to play that map and unlock its character.
Unable to grasp the true nature of the utilized biological weapons, the dispatch of the army was difficult, and agents assisted by the FOS became the true spearhead.
Just like how I play with everyone else minus Jake.
As someone who uses the crosshairs, aiming with the bow trajectory visual is pretty annoying. This bow is not the one I used back in RE4 and 5, that's for sure.
Yeah, but they're the only boss battles that you remember because of who is participating in them rather than the boss battles themselves. They're just samey humanoid battles - some of which are fucking terriblelike ripping off Jill's boob bug thing
Resident Evil 6 easily trumps Resident Evil 5 for this reason, it provides variety in it's boss battles and for the MOST part offers boss strategies outside of the whole "survive for xx minutes" or "shoot it until it dies".
There are so many memorable moments throughout this game when compared to Resident Evil 5. I am a little bit depressed at how much this game has lowered RE5 (in terms of boss encounters) by comparison.
Probably not possible if you look into the canon, but I really wish they just said that this was Steve just to kill and bury that plot thread forever. I cannot believe I see people STILL gunning for his return =/
Man, Dishonored-GAF is the shittest GAF. No questions getting answered EVER.
I love you RE-GAF <3
