Resident Evil Requiem Gamescom Previews are starting to roll in

I hope Leon shows up like 5 minutes into the stalking, blows away monster-Alyssa with a rocket launcher, and drops a one liner while Grace cries like

I'm down for stalker sections like this but I'm hoping it's a 50/50 with the action-heavy Leon portions and that his presence is substantial

This is another potential problem. If Leon isn't in the game, or if he's in it for 15 minutes (like the Chris section in Village), there's going to be a lot of fans who are going to be upset/disappointed that their favorite character wasn't in it, and that the game was slower than they thought it would be. And that wouldn't be the fault of Capcom. It'd be the fault of one guy "leaking" bullshit information.

It could still be true Leon is in the game, but I really think fans should seriously consider keeping their expectations in check.

Isn't this the RE7 or RE8 director so I'd imagine if they put Leon in somewhere it's either going to be similar to Barry in Revelations 2 or it'll be a mini campaign like they did with Chris Redfield.

Looks like you get the ability to fight back against the stalker pretty darn early. Hopefully there's rewards for temp drops like Nemesis vs it just being a waste of time/ammo like X to incentivize/reward fighting back.

This is exactly why jaw dropping surprises should be locked away tightly from leaks and all. Like those epic twist games or movies, where best explanation is just no explanation at all: "just go and see for your self"
Although I highly doubt she can go all game long without support and with the clear hint of the police station it is basically impossible to see Leon somewhere somehow playing a role, and well clearly he's the starboy of the series so I do expect at least some very decent segments with him.

I like Leon but I dont need him be in every game, we already got to play as him in both RE2R and RE4R.
Like I said before one of the most overused characters. And Ada Wong is guaranteed to follow him if he shows up.

I'd rather have other characters that aren't used as much show up like Carlos or Jake Muller. Once Leon shows up it's Leon time all the time.

Why is the protagonist wearing the world's noisiest clogs in those video previews?
For a demo about avoiding a predator, she sure clumps around the place with very loud footsteps.

An interesting snippet from the demo:

So apparently some parts of the game are actually designed with third-person camera in mind first. I bet all sections with Leon will be like that.

I hope Leon takes over 80% of this game, just to piss people off who say he's over represented in these games. People acting like he fucked their partners or something.

It was obvious this sequence was FP first but TP fanatics kept saying it has both and is going to be equally perfect all the time.

Put Crimson Heads into the game and make them inflammable.

Child Smile GIF

i kinda love crimson head back then in RE1R, make you think twin before decide to shoot something

leon is not bad, which bad is his story with ada, either capcom writer get them together and set down or make them move a fucking away from each other, looking 2 middle age man and women trying to play hide and catch like a teenage is cringe AF, it's not 1998 anymore

I dont see this girl being able to fight back for the whole game

I believe the game will be divided in Grace stealth sections and Leon action sections

Her becoming a badass and going through a devastaded Racoon City by herself will be jarring

Also why they are keeping the (allegedly) open world sections in secret, cause you dont control her.

Thats because the OG Re and Re4 are my favorite games , give me another Re2 or Re4 type of resident evil instead of this, all day everyday! This ain't Re for me , Re7, Re8 and this could be named something else and nobody would of known it was a Re game, that's just my opinion!
I'm so sick of hearing every time series does something different but then people still complain when devs don't take risk.

I'm sick of RE stalkers, FFS. Yes fuck Crimson heads, fuck Mr X, Fuck Nemesis, fuck Dimitrescu. OMG I just want more like OG zombies. Fuck this franchise

I never really cared for the stalker shtick, they seem to be doing this over and over. In general I think it's kind of lame that theres an enemy that's impossible to kill. It's so played out.

The same Amnesia/Outlast hide and seek gameplay that I greatly disliked from RE7 and RE8 is still present, surprise surprise. Resident Evil was never about this, so why are so many fans okay with these segments? It's funny that Capcom had already tried this with Haunting Ground years ago and it bombed commercially, but I guess that's because online streamers/influencers hadn't conditioned people to like that style of gameplay yet. This isn't me trashing Haunting Ground, it's one of my favorite horror games from that generation, Clock Tower 3 as well. I just find it humorous how a style of gameplay that was mostly ignored and labeled as boring in the past can have a huge boon on sales in the present because of online culture and marketing. Also, Grace's frantic running and tripping over herself is probably lifted straight from Haunting Ground. The pursuer being dettered by light also reminds me of Daniella and her reaction to mirrors. Capcom should just remake it already.

It is funny.

I want the old RE.

*gets RE*

Wow this sucks I wish it was a Michael Bay shooter

*Michael Bay Shooter*

This is bullshit what happened to old RE?

The only thing re7 and 8 has in common with Outlast games is first person câmera, some takes here are just nonsensical.

Re8 is basically Re4 in first person ffs.
So the fact that you can barely defend yourself, you have to hide all the time and being chased as nothing to do with Outlast? Right!

Yep sick of that same shit now!!

Try something new and different ffs

true, problem with stalker since the day they appear in RE that seem like they are being optimize for standard mode only, lower difficulty they become laughable clown, and increase difficulty devs just give them speed hack, or even worse, in RE8 they didn't even pretend anymore and give lady D a goddamn teleportation ability

Hide, hide from what ? Do you have a gun since hour one.

Now what about RE2 Mr X pursuing you and you have to run and HIDE on save rooms to loose him? Or what about our friend Nêmesis thats is pretty much unkillible If is your first time on RE3 ? Guess what ? Time to run and HIDE or be prepare to start from your last save, guess they are all Outlast games too.

For someone that says " i m a big fan of the old games + 4" It seens that you have a pretty bad memory about these games.

The irony is painful.
Action over horror RE game
Mercenary that upgrade and sell itens
Ammo and itens droped from enemies
Rural/Vilage locatio full of monsters
A Swamp "Big Fish"
Monsters that ll overwhelm your location
Both games has cults
Both games have castle, industrial districts, Village, Swamp location
Parasitic mutation
And there is more similarities.

C'mon Re8 is clearly inspired by Re4 to an almost copy/paste setting.

They rebooted the series so many times at this point this has nothing to do with the original Biohazard on your gif.
I completely disagree with you.

Shooting zombies heads and watching them explode is extremely satisfying for me in every RE main title.

Also, most of the things that I enjoy on the first Resident Evil game are still present for me on most other games of the series.

Like the over-the-top villains, the campy dialogue, the charismatic characters, interesting places to explore, cool weapons to collect, resource management, light puzzles and more, most RE games have all that in one way or another.

Sure, some RE main titles focus on different things, like RE5 and 6 being completely action oriented, but that isn't an issue for me and I enjoyed them a lot.

I even finished and enjoyed RE7, although I kinda hate first person games and for me Ethan is the worst RE main character, RE7 still has many things that I enjoy, same thing with 8, which has a third person mode, making it way more enjoyable for me.
