I called one of those puns.

Cant tell if this is real. This is incredible.
I'm guessing its?A Krennic Condition
I like StarWars. Loved the first trilogy and liked the second one. But I didn't like VII at all.
I can give you the reasons but at the end movies are art and art is diferent for everyone.
Sorry but Im not agree, for example I think the acting was not good and the story was just a remake for the older one. I know not sharing the same opinion sucks but there it is.Fair I guess. Just seems... extreme to me? At the very least it's a competent movie and story with good acting and production. But hell, your opinion is yours.

The soundtrack is live btw. I'm listening to it on GPM.
I mean
It actually doesn't seem to me that you like Star Wars in general
I can't find it
Are you in the US?
also dont know why EP7 si treated like this at all, I dont remember people saying "well it seems you dont like starwars in general" when they hated EP3 or EP2 etc.
I love all of them but I can see why Disney told him to cut it out because this is like a whole new level of punny. For those of you amused by Giacchino's pun-laden cue titles, he released the original titles before Disney presumably ordered him to cut it out. Here they are, spoiler-tagged (just in case although there's nothing notably spoiley).

Is called EP7, is a direct sequel, instead of a sequel we got a remake of EP4.
Im not going to make a list of things about it Im just going to link a google search:
https://lmgtfy.com/?q=episode+7+is+a+episode+4+remake?
You can call it ridiculous all you want and defend it all you want, and making a thesis how is not a remake and how it was the only way it could work, etc, the movie was a safe ass pandering to nostalgic fans, Im just calling it how I see it.
And this one even has more of the same homages and padering I read somewhere? are this people capable of making something original?

The overall balance of quality installments vs shitty installments in the franchise is restored back to positive, with 4-3 in favor.
Not joking. I have never been this entertained by a Star Wars movie. The first movie in the series that I've ever felt tension. And I liked all of the characters.
That's amazing, though I'm waiting until after the movie to read them. He just can't help himself!Cant tell if this is real. This is incredible.
I grew up with the OT aswell, my favorite SW movie is RoTS and I think TFA is one of the more embarrassing cash ins I have ever seen in my life, so much pandering I wanted to walk out the theater, is not about they didnt take any chances, is about how diabolical and evil that people is in making the same movie twice and you know what? the audience fucking ate it all up.
Jeezz.
I had a similar experience recently as well. I went to a high school reunion and it was just such a blatant nostalgia grab. All of my old friends were there. I was like, what this fuck is this shit?
They plastered the name of my high school everywhere - talk about embarrassing - and just kept pounding us over the head with this sentimental bullshit.
And in the back of mind I was thinking, maybe this isn't a complete travesty, maybe I can express a reasonable amount of dissatisfaction that might be more commensurate with the experience, but, hell no, I absolutely had to let everyone know that this was one of the worst experiences of my life. And fuck all of those people who seemed to enjoy it.

I feel more mixed on this than I did with Force Awakens. I felt like there wasn't enough time to get to know the characters, basically, and the pacing kind of lost me at times. The core story is solid but I left thinking this would have been really cool as a TV miniseries rather than a 2-hour film.

I enjoyed TFA a lot more. R1 felt like star wars without the myth, but the myth was not replaced with anything interesting.
I was looking forward to the spin off movies a lot because I hoped we would get small, smart and intruguing stories set in the star wars universe. R1 was not that, it was still trying to be an epic story and didn't feel smart or special, it only lacked the myth.
That's my first impression and I hope I'll feel it a bit more on a rewatch, maybe I was just tired and not in the right mood. I think I'd even place it below ROTS at the moment.

I completely disagree I think it was smart for them to make the sequel of a movie which came out 30 years ago more of a call back rather than what most studios would've done which is a full reboot of the whole thing.in fact, many of the viewers had likely never seen a new hope so why not reintroduce the world to a host of young ones while building upon it ever so slightly. now that the heavy lifting is done we should rightfully expect the sequel to be groundbreaking and if it is not THEN we really should be complaining IMO.I grew up with the OT aswell, my favorite SW movie is RoTS and I think TFA is one of the more embarrassing cash ins I have ever seen in my life, so much pandering I wanted to walk out the theater, is not about they didnt take any chances, is about how diabolical and evil that people is in making the same movie twice and you know what? the audience fucking ate it all up.

It's pretty clearly better than ROTJ. You might need to go watch it again; nostalga is a helluva drug. RO is clearly top 3. Just a matter of where you put it now.Now that I had time to think of this movie, I say that while I like it I still like it a lot, I believe it's not as good as TFA.
For me a Star Wars movie lives and dies by its characters and I felt RO's were a step down from TFA's. I am a bit of a sucker for the pluckier characters of TFA.
I did like a Cassian though, seeing a Rebel agent that can get his hands dirty for the rebellion was refreshing.
I get why fans like RO so much though. It had some things TFA lacked like more unique planets and ships.
It has all the good things about the old expanded universe stories while being more competent than a lot of them.
The real question now is where I rank it compared to ROTJ which will be much more difficult since I also like ROTJ despite the bum rap it gets these days.
