---------------------------------------------------

I'll be cheering on Henman and Roddick (although I don't think he stands much chance of breaking a Nadal v Federer final) and Vaidisova.

It's raining there at the moment so not many games have been played.

---------------------------------------------------

Sharapova for the class-less.

Vaidisova for the awesome.

Part of me wants to see Roddick win because I've always been a fan, but at the same time part of me wants Federer to just crush Nadal. There are few sports where we can say we're seeing the greatest of all time play, and if Federer gets a French, I think he's on his way.

Roddick is awful on clay. He most likely won't get past the 1st round. He's best chance of winning a Grandslam is the US Open.

ahem. you forgot the obligatory sharapova pic in the original post.

Federer should be confident after he beat Nadal last week in Hamburg. I hope he can finally win the French this year. Best grand slam to watch.

choke job by pironkova.

edit - nevermind. lol. i just realized it wasn't live. why doesn't espn2 just cut straight to the 3rd set?

Almost forgot this started. One of these days I'll visite a Grand Slam. Sofar I've only been to the ABN Amro Tournament.

I'll be cheering for Federer and Sharapova.

Fixed for great justice.

I haven't found the "swing low, sweet chariots pic" that we normally have though!

I appreciate all the Sharapova goodness in this thread.

Also, is Henman even in this?:lol I'll be rooting for him, thing is theres no way for me to watch it.

Download the TVU Player and you can watch it on the Tennis Channel.

Care to expand on this?

so it looks like serena is cruising to victory. how great would it have been to see her get knocked out in the first round.

Not very, few things bring me more pleasure in womens tennis then watching Serena smack up on everyone's favourite ice princess of the moment.

Serena Williams :( I don't like her style at all.

Another thread about a girl who's considered hotter than she is just because she is a celebrity.

:lol The way she anhiliated Sharapova was absolutely hysterical. I do love Maria, but the Serena haters just piss me off, making it even easier to root for.

Congratulations...you're the winner of GAF's weekly Colbert "I Called It" award!

James Blake choked it up today too. Bye-bye Americans in the first round.

5th seed and Australian Open runner-up Gonzalez bit the dust in straight sets too.

I'm looking forward to a Federer Vs. Nadal final :)

Got to see a little bit of Gasquet's match. He's a lot of fun to watch, hope to see more of him this tournament.

Federer has matched another record, this time one held by John McEnroe, 35 consecutive sets won in slams. :)

Mid term report:

Federer advances to the QFs (he will face Tommy Robredo) and he might potentially face Canas in the SF (Canas defeated Federer twice this year, back to back).

Tomorrow, Nadal will face Hewitt and it should be a good match, but Nadal won't lose.

Andy Murray is out do to a wrist injury.

Only one American man left in the draw and he is into the QFs.

Djokovic, thankfully, is still in the tournament

Sharapova isn't playing well. Too many errors. Going to take something special to get this first set back.

I'm cheering for Jankovic. Women's tennis has been dominated by powerplayers for the last couple of years but this girl's different. Great range of strokes and a positive attitude, she's a joy to watch. Shame she isn't much of a hottie.

I like her style of play too. I'm looking forward to her quarter final with Vaidisova.

Sharapova just dropped a break. This is going to go down to the wire.
Edit: nevermind, she won it right back.
