Davydenko makes a really frightening growl every time he hits the ball. Really creepy.

What the hell, now he's not doing it anymore. :lol Was he possessed or something?

Williams, who had won her past 11 Grand Slam matches, was the lone remaining American in men's or women's singles. She was puzzled by her poor play and reluctant to credit Henin.

"Nothing worked today. Sometimes you just have days like that," Williams said. "All she had to do was show up."

God, sometimes I hate Serena. Just give her credit that she beat you. I think she still can't get over that semifinal in 03 (I think it was 03)

No, the Williams sisters always pull that. I don't think it has anything to do with the 03 semi (that would be a much better excuse, though), as she certainly seemed quite cordial with Henin after the match.

If you watched the match, Serena did pretty much beat herself. Bad movement and tons of error, very different from Serena in Australia. Although to Justine's credit, she played very well and didn't let Serena get back in.

As a tennis fan though, this match didn't live up to its hype (due to Serena not holding up her side).

is it safe to assume federer has a better chance against davydenko than canas after what canas did the last couple of matches they played?

mmmmmm, impressive

The Federer-Davydenko match should be a very tough match. Davydenko gave Federer a real test in the QF of the AO last year, but Federer won an easy match in the SF at the U.S open. This match is on clay so it should be different. But I ofcourse give the advantage to Federer.

Davydenko had 70 UEs in his match with Canas!!!

Davydenko was often close, but you always got the feeling that he does'nt actually believe in beeting him (like so many other top players). Their head-to-head will be 9:0 after Friday, I'm pretty sure about that, but still, the match could be interesting. :)

Anyway, I want to see a Nadal vs. Federer final, Federer has a real chance this year.

I did a lil research on that slam semi final record. The old record was held by Ivan Lendl with 10. Federer has now 12 and everyone knows how good he plays at the next two slams, so that's most likely not where it will end.

If he reaches the RG final, he will have 8 straight slam finals, the old record was 6 by Rod Laver.

And to top it all, he has now won 53 out of his last 54 matches at slams, of course that can only be a record as well ... probably one where he leads by a big margin.

Is anyone else watching this on BBCi? Its not working for me which is a complete piss take.
I wanna see what this Igor Andreev is all about. Baghdatis said that his forehand is harder than Nadal's. Although he would say that about the guy he got an ass whooping from.

OH NO THEY DIDN'T! NO BADMOUTHING MY DEAR DEAR VAIDISOVA :*(

At least she doesn grunt like a pig getting whipped everytime she hits the ball (i.e. Sharapovaaaa)

It's working fine for me. If you're using freeview try going to the channel directly (chan. 302) that's what I do.

Nadal has some frightening backhand shots. I'm going to have to start practicing with a two handed backhand I think!

I wouldn't try that, mine hits the net every time. Talk about consistent!
I hope Djokovic puts up a fight against him.

Ivanovic is a cutie :)

I can see her beating Sharapova, if the Russian self destructs. I also hope Henin loses.

And holy crap how strong is her forehand?! Broken Sharapova's first service game. This could be a classic.

Sharapova getting truly spanked! Ivanovic is a pretty awesome player (first time I've watched her live) but Sharapova has helped her out with a crazy amount of errors.

Ivanovic wins 6-2 6-1

Was completely dominant. Pushed Sharapova back and made the space to place the winner.

Sharapova's serving was horrible. Ad court in the second set she only won 13% of her points. She was hitting unforced errors all over the place but mainly because Ivanovic was making her play differently to how she wanted.

This beating has been long, long time coming. Sharapova has been utter sh1t the whole tournament. She only reach this far thanks to a cakewalk draw.

I really fancy Jankovic, I'm not sure why. When I just see a shot on her face...well, she's not ugly but she's not gorgeous either, she's just fine. I think it's something to do with her blacker than black hair, I like that.

Still supporting Henin though, she's been my favourite ever since I saw her doing sliced backhands rather than two handed power shots like everyone else seemed to at Wimbledon ages ago.

Jankovic is one of my favorite players on the women's tour. Her face also reminds me of a Modigliani painting :lol
She just has her hands full at the moment with the Henin freight train.

Edit: Oh well, that was over fast. Both women's semis sucked, in both gameplay and outcome (I was rooting for Sharapova and Jankovic).

WTF

I am looking at the tv listings, and no U.S network is showing the Roger Federer match live. I checked ESPN2, TTC and even NBC.

I started supporting her then for the exact same reason. It was good to see that level of precision and touch in the Williams power era. I don't support her now though because she's the favourite.

You know I may have a new favourite to Vaidisova now.

Ivanovic is hawt AND has some amazing forehand passing shots. Heck, I'll just support them both.

I thought you said "amazing forehead" for a second, and I was like "yeah, it's alright I suppose".

She's probably hotter than Sharapova, glad she beat her now. In fact, a lot of Sharapova's hotness was because of her girly enthusiasm and freshness when she won at Wimbledon, ever since she's become this ice queen I've gone off her a bit.

That pic doesn't even look 'shopped. If you watch her on the court, she looks flawless just like that...

Sharapova grunts way too much to be cute anymore. She's attractive. But not hawwwt.

I think the grunting would annoy me, only I'm too busy getting annoyed at the commentators moaning about her grunting every ****ing match, like they thought it was going to change.

I think they all complain about it, so it probably is a dig at him amongst others. It really doesn't offend my ears like it does everyone else, I'd just prefer it slightly if she didn't grunt. I'm worried that I'm going to be hearing these same complaints for the next decade until she retires. They've had their say, we know their opinion on it, it's not changed anything and it's not going to, let's just let it go.

I've just realised Ivanovic looks a bit like my cousin.

This is the part where I should be telling you that's put me off...

No pics that I have, maybe when I next see my sister she might have some. I hardly ever take photos as it is, and I'm lucky if I see this cousin once a year, we live quite far apart.
