Either I made up lies about the Boston Bomber or I fell for someone else's crap. Either way, I have absolutely no credibility and you should never pay any attention to anything I say, no matter what the context. Perm me if I claim to be an insider
The Romney's are in London mainly because Ann Romney is a part owner of a horse in the dressage competition.

As an American, I have no idea what dressage is other thant it some shit rich people do with horses.

Well I'm sorry that American U.S. patriot Mitt Romney won't bow to the King of England and the international cabal of the Olympics that wants to usurp our sporting sovereignty and probably take our guns away too, but I'm glad that we have a patriot like him to stand up for America when that socialist barack HUSSEIN obama won't. God bless the USA!

In other words This is Neogaf.

which Romney said he won't be watching

"I have to tell you. This is Ann's sport. I'm not even sure which day the sport goes on. She will get the chance to see it, I will not be watching the event. I hope her horse does well," he said.

seriously, wtf is wrong with this guy!?

Boris Johnson (Mayor of London): “There’s a guy called Mitt Romney who wants to know whether we’re ready. Are we ready? Are we ready? Yes we are!”

Romney building on those shared Anglo-Saxon credentials, I see.

.. whats wrong with what he said there?

Absurd spin to distance himself from appearing a well-moneyed individual whose wife enjoys dressage competition. Kinda fits his entire campaign of shamelessly, and unconvincingly, pandering to the voter as a regular guy. There's phonies and then there's Mitt Romney.

They just have a marriage of convenience, it seems. He doesn't even care about his wife's activities.

That's a huuuuuuuuuuge assumption.

Look, I know one of Mitt's sons very, very well. I know a lot about the Romneys. Disagree with him politically if you want, but he's an amazing family man. Nothing about how he raised his kids or treats his wife says anything about him being in a marriage of convenience. That's way out of bounds to claim anything like that.

If my wife was into scrapbooking (thank goodness she isn't), it doesn't make me a bad husband if I don't want to go to some scrapbooking expo with her.

John Stewart actually summed it in an entertaining way:

yep, cause i care what dude from London says.

Cant watch that over here, ive been to london a number of times for sporting events and bar wembly never really had trouble getting around and out of the city. So unless its totally changed in the last five years bar the odd traffic jam which wont effect olypians as they have there own traffic lanes etc i dont see transport being that much of an issue the tube system is pretty good. From what i read the security issue was with a private company which has been sorted and replaced. I doubt you will find any massive tourny that wont have some teething issues and im willing to bet it will all go well.

yep, cause i care what dude from London says. Why are english people caring what Romney says?

Probably because he specifically made a trip over to the United Kingdom to make friends with them to show how good he would be as President, so they feel some responsibility to make it clear he's failing at it.

You'll be LOL the next 4 years.

Doubtful. Not sure what gives you confidence in Romney's chances. I know the economy has remained a significant problem through Obama's four years in office, but he's in a much better position in his second term to actually make a difference, while Romney tends to side with the very people who are making this gulf between the have's and the have not's.

I'm scratching my head to understand why people support Romney. Romney supports restricting people's civil rights because of a book written 2000 years old (he's Mormon so perhaps some of his beliefs come from the more recent fiction). He's not a rational person and should not represent the United States interests for that reason. It'd be electing Tom Cruise to be president, a religious nutjob who has gobs of money.

Oh no, Romney lost the coveted British vote! I think this dooms his chances in Florida.

I don't know, the British are one of the US' biggest allies. Seems dumb to piss them off over a dick measuring contest.

I just took it as he doesn't want to be associated with something that makes him appear a glaring part of wealthy.

Its one thing to one a horse.

Its another thing to own a horse and train it to do tricks like bow and walk all prancy.

Fuck, I just introducted a new thing for Bronies, didn't I?

Yeah, you're right. We - in the UK - obviously don't give a shit about security which is why when a private security firm dropped the ball they were immediately replaced.

You really do come off as a massively insecure, inferior little child in these threads. It's rather embarrassing tbh. I've seen your post history and whenever a foreign politician (especially an American) criticises the UK you seem to take personal offence and blow everything out of proportion. Settle the fuck down and smoke a joint, or something. For the last couple of weeks the UK media has been (correctly) lambasting the government for getting it massively wrong in two key areas, security and immigration. It's as though you simply turn a blind eye to all this domestic criticism and yet as soon as a foreign politician makes any sort of comment you just lose your shit. Really embarrassing. And did you really describe his comments as "burning diplomatic bridges"? lol

It wasn't a smart comment and he could have worded things better, but he's well within his rights to question the security/customs officials. He's just learned an important lesson in foreign policy, which he is obviously not well versed in, and that is in fact part of the reason he's in London during the Olympics in the first place. Cameron handled it well by sniping back and drawing a line underneath it. Storm in a teacup.

You should be complaining about why the Prime Minister is even meeting this moron in the first place, because he certainly didn't do the same for Hollande.

FWIW, the security and immigration issues have been fully resolved. The strike has been averted and the British Army have taken control and will do the job 100x better than any other shit private contractor could have done. I breezed through Heathrow this morning in no time.

This time next week nobody will remember any of this bollocks.

EDIT:

I personally have no problem (for the most part) with fellow British people moaning about things but when a foreigner does it they can fuck off.

Now I'm certain that I was just baited by a troll. Well done.
