Watched the film yesterday, not bad at all - I just expected more. Smith did a great job, and I loved his sidekick. Wasnt too fond of the ending though, too quick.

The book is such a brilliant role reversal and a great insight into good - evil relatism. Its just so odd that they thought making Will Smith
the saviour of humanity, and hence a "legend"
was a better alternative. The movie is well acted and well presented, it just leaves you with a bitter aftertaste.

Yeah, I think Will Smith and Sam really pulled the movie through, how they go about around the desolate city, I loved that.

It really went the "Ugghhh, what, why?" direction after the burial scene. It would've been much better if they were a bit more faithful to how things went in the book :(

Yeah, film didn't dissapoint, except for the ending of course. Why the hell would you even call it 'I am Legend' if you' re gonna piss all over the title? Too bad, cause no matter how you look at it, a shitty ending completely ruins an otherwise good movie.

this is how i feel. I was a bit dissapointed with the way the movie went. I would have enjoyed a Mad Max type feel much more.

You know what was so great about this movie..

Even though something as silly as Shrek was in it..they really managed to make it a "do not laugh at this bit..its very serious" moment.

I thought it was really depressing how obvious it was that his social skills had broken. I guess some would laugh though..

I try to break things down when watching.

Even friends who didn't read the book have all said the exact same thing. What makes it worse is the fact it seemed they were heading in the direction of the book, then detoured big time.

Yeah, it really seemed that way, big reason why the ending was even more of a letdown.

I really liked when he went after Sam into the dark building, the first time we see the dark seekers, that bit was actually suspenseful. Afterwards, the crap CG just messed it up.

Yeah what was up with fred's head moving? Was that just supposed to be Neville's mind playing tricks with him?

I thought the ending was rather good...but thats probably because I've never read the book.

I've never read the book, or seen the adaptations. Normally, I would be one to bitch at people downplaying the movie, because it didn't follow the text, but...the ending left a lot to be desired. I didn't really mind it much, especially since Will was still a legend, and, what happened happened. They just forced a lot of things into the last segment, and it was bloody obvious where they were taking the film. If things were done a bit more subtly, the ending would have been a non issue.

I'll say it again, Will's acting was easily some of the best I've seen in a film.

count me in, with those that got freaked out by Fred's head moving. >.<

Thread revitalization confirmed!

Now I know I'm extremely LTTP on this one however having just watched this and the alternate ending, I need to say a few things.

Firstly I was enjoying this film quite a lot (and I fucking HATE Will Smith) until
Will meets up with other humans and it turns into the religious, God shows me a butterfly, we need to appeal to the mass market of religious zealots in North America, Zombies don't have feelings kill em all FUCK YEAH GARBAGE movie that it is.

Secondly, the alternate ending was a MILLION, no, a GAZZILION times better.

Seriously WHAT THE FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK???
