RTX 5090 Review Thread

Excuse me?! I will just quote myself from 2 months ago, and I won't swarm every 5090 threads like you did with Pro

Jesus I was generous with my expectation for 5090..lol
The GPU gives 45% performance for nearly every game, including ironically Playstation games, while the console gives only to a potato little pathetic list of games.

Honestly if my 4090 would not have cooked itself I am not sure I would have gone through the hassle of upgrading to the 5090

I'm jumping to the 5090 because the 4090 resell value is so ridiculous right now. I sold my 4090 for nearly $200 more than I paid for it 15 months ago.

Hardest part at this point is make sure I'm actually able to obtain a 5090...

You know bolded is simply false .. but whatever

Calisto protocol runs higher than 4K with RT on Pro .. F1 runs closer to 8K (I think 6K internally) but we ignore all RT improvements, AI improvements and focus on Raster which in both cases above achieved more than 25% improvement.

I won't keep engaging here so I don't derail the thread, enjoy paying your life savings on this lackluster uplift.

So, without FG is between 25 and 30% more? I think i will skip this gen and keep the 4090. Specially since the new DLSS is also coming to the 40 series.

Well done Nvidia you needed a new architecture to make a 4090 Ti.

I did tell you...
You're not getting any more bang for your buck. This is as I've said above, a glorified 4090Ti.
30% more performance, 30% more money, 30% more power consumption.

Life saving 😂😂😂 it’s not even a month salary.

This seems pretty meh. Its not that amazing. If you can get a 4090 for a decent price, its still a good deal.

RT and new features aside.

This also tells us why Nvidia didn't release the rumored 4090ti and saved this for the next gen knowing AMD wasn't going to fight them.

after those pretty much linear, aka zero progress, numbers from the 5090 I think it`s safe to say that by far the biggest improvement this gen has brought to the market is DLSS4...and that is something all cards will get.
What a wasted gen....

Not impressed. It's a beast but the uplift isn't great. 4090 is still an absolute unit. Thanks to DLSS4 my 3080 will live longer. Hopefully the 60 series will be gooderer

Not if you sell your 4090 😜

How much did you get for it if you don’t mind me asking?

The most appealing upgrade on the 5090 to me is making bespoke pornography faster in Stable Diffusion.

That would be the only way. It better be one hell of a deal though. DLSS 4 is coming to the 40 series cards so this makes it even more useless to just straight up upgrade.

I'll share that I sold my 4090 for $1600 this week after buying it second hand for $1400 15 months ago.

yeah i think i'm just gonna skip this gen. my 4080 hasn't let me down yet. 5090 doesn't seem worth it and if that sucks then everything else below it will too.

if i'm gonna spend £2,000 on a GPU then I want more than this.

No improvement performance per vat, impact of rt enabling on frames similar to 4090, no wonder they pushing multiframe generation so hard.

Agreed, that's the biggest improvement they had to push.

Really makes me wonder what the 6090 and beyond are going to look like, especially with zero competition on the ultra high end at this point.

So a 25-35% uplift in raw performance @ 4K, depending on the reviewer. 25% more price. 25% more power.

I can see why Nvidia spent 95% of their pitch focusing on the power of AI and MFG because the rest is pretty underwhelming.
