What’s the use of buying an XBOX

Honestly it’s reaching a point where if I see an Xbox for sale on Facebook marketplace, I kinda feel sad for the guy he bought an Xbox. … then I offer him 100$ for his series X console. Take or leave trolololol

The market doesn't need anything they have to offer. Nintendo does the hybrid thing, Sony does the beefier console thing, mobile serves the super casuals, and the PC offers a range of options from handheld to climate destroying monolith. We just don't need a 5th wheel.

I'm sure they'll put out something in the next couple of years, but I expect it will sell less than the Series consoles and continue their trend of a shrinking user base. I think the real question is are they still making console or handheld hardware 6-7 years from now? I doubt it.

Other companies don't need to do all of this. Its Microsoft that needs to. Sony has always had a presence on PC, so them tossing a few old bones on PC isn't unusual. I grew up mostly on PC and it's how I played Twisted Metal and Jet Moto as a kid. They were even better thanks to 3dfx.

Ah, I was a console kid until 13/14 when we got our first computer, then I played everything and then slowly started leaning more into PC. I still want to play everything though, lol.

Wtf, really? I had no idea there were PC ports. After doing some research TM1 only came out in Japan, but TM2 came out everywhere but sold poorly? Wtf, wild I never knew this, lol. Jet Moto too! Appreciate the enlightenment, lol.

What’s the use of buying an XBOX

I can give you some uses:

- day 1 Microsoft games
- backwards compatibility with 2 generations with much improved graphics
- Much better app support and developer mode
- you can use it as a Media Center (Kodi, VLC). This is not possible on PS
- Internet Browser
- Better Deals on the Store compared to PlayStation if you're a GamePass subscriber.
- Xbox Cloud Gaming works great. I play my Series X games in the bedroom on my Xbox One S without any real lag.
- If you like the above you can also get Microsoft Rewards to make your GamePass subscription cheaper.

I play more on Xbox at the moment because I have a huge backlog and most older games simply run and look much better on Xbox. Xbox has VRR with backwards compatibility and A LOT of older games are locked 30 on PS5, while they are 60 and upscaled and filtered on Xbox. Big win if you like older games.

I get it, it's cool and fun to bash Xbox but it's still a great console (Series X).

They want their cake and to eat it.

They want to put their games everywhere, but they don’t want people to abandon Xbox overnight at the same time. Not until they’ve got a substantial amount of games out on PS5/Switch 2 anyway.

Hence the often cryptic messaging.

Hate to brake it to you but us PC gamers actually like it when something is no longer exclusive. In fact I'd be happy as fuck for console gamers if Counter-Strike 2 went to PlayStation. Yeah, every other Fable marketed the lead as a dude. Making the change was stupid. But again, since day 1 of the original fable, they let us choose guy or gal. I imagine that hasn’t changed.

AoE2 is probably the game I've played most on the Xbox. A portable version on the Switch 2 would be an easy sell for me.

I'll take Fable.

I have an XSX but no longer boot it up because I don't have any friends on there. I have these games:

P4G because it is 4k money-hatted by MS I assume, and not 4k on PS5.

FFXIII because it is a masterful version of that game

Neir Automata because it is the best version on console

MGS Rising because it ain't on PS5

Psychonauts 2 because they kept the next gen version off PS5

Fallout New Vegas - not sure if on PS5, but the game is excellently rendered on XSX

In case anyone questions my Series X creds, I bet I use the sereies X better than anyone else. Who else would know the games that dominate on the console?

Just went to Amazon UK and they don't have any Series S in stock. Dispatch date is 1 - 2 months. Although, the Series X is still in stock.

Yeah, stuff like Halo MCC and AoE2 fit that criteria.

Although, rumour is that Forza Horizon 5 and ESIV remake are also headed to the Switch 2.
