Rumor: Fable, MS Flight Simulator and Starfield are coming to PS5

With the popularity of remasters and collections, there aren't many worthwhile games that have that low of a chance of coming to PlayStation.
Without putting PC into the equation, it would need to be most of these titles:

Xbox did a decent job bringing a fair amount of older catalogue games to the new consoles, including games that would technically still be stuck on PS360 because the drip feed of content from that generation has been extremely slow, to the point where people here still own PS3s to play those games.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
If it's good, it will be a first for the franchise.

With the exception of Fable: Anniversary, the core 3 games are all well reviewed and well regarded.

More games are going to be available on more platforms, that net is just going to get wider and wider.

What I'm curious about is what Nintendo is going to do. I feel like their first parties would never go anywhere else. If they ever did, that would be wild.

Porting their games to other platforms would directly, and I think severely, impact their hardware sales. A lot of people buy Nintendo consoles just to play their first party titles, after all. I think you're right and it would never happen. Even in the event of a hardware failure (in terms of sales), I suspect they would just hold on to their IPs and concentrate on rebuilding their success with the next iteration.

hey is it just me or is no one paying attention to Sony’s gross mismanagement this generation by putting 12 developers on 12 straight cancelled live service games and how MS seems to be making all the smart moves and maximizing their profit and will probably become the biggest publisher on PS which everyone wants to spin as a positive for PS but really isnt ? Probably just me ..

How is it not a positive for both Sony and Microsoft?

Sony gets a cut of each game sold.

PlayStation players get to play games they normally wouldn't have access to.

Microsoft make more money without bleeding it through their failing hardware business.

It's a win for everyone involved.

i mean it can be if Sony had games that made recurring profit along with their first party titles (which are even slim atm) but if its just MS published/owned games then thats good for Sony in the short term maybe (even though MS will make the bigger cut) but they should probably course correct before MS decides to pull the rug even measuredly so next generation when they will , if they do actually release a next generation console , want to incentivize consumers most to buy their hardware.

Day 1 game pass and 6 months to a year exclusivity and a great catalog may just be enough for some people to invest. Not saying exclude a PS purchase but maybe also buy an Xbox. And it surprised me in the Dustin Legare interview Spenser did kinda chuckle about a Steam store front being on their next generation platform along with Xbox OS. Reminder being PS games are on Steam. Dk if this is plausible but it seems like a clever way to get PS games on their platform. Also imagine that would get some PC users to jump ship to this platform because of rising gpu costs.

Sony this generation (who i love btw) is running on straight momentum right now. Dont know how much id depend on that to last forever. MS has a lot of money and can clearly weather a lot of financial loss and is only now turning a corner from a content perspective so people can scoff at some of their numbers now but they seem to have smartened up even though it seems like it may be too late for the traditional console business that we know. Just doesnt seem like theyre going away is my long winded point. Even a Xbox handheld is essentially confirmed by them. Idk its interesting is all .

In the traditional sense im not worried for Sony because obviously they sell consoles at a ridiculous pace but i cant help but remember their battle cries in that FTC hearing how they couldnt replicate COD for themselves. That along with obviously a wasted generation in terms of first party output and besides Helldivers which i understand its player retention has been abysmal , it hasnt done what they clearly want to do and have now wasted over a billion dollars on trying to develop in a live service hit. Concord cost 500 million lol. Insane. Im actually not saying Sony is any trouble per se im moreso saying Xbox may have a lane that many hardcore enthusiasts seem to count out and forget casuals dont care much about the “console wars” 😂

No.

Microsoft isn't going to stop supporting PlayStation and Nintendo. It's too profitable for them.

The idea that Microsoft will release a next gen system, then risk it all by pulling support for Sony and Nintendo and making all their games Xbox/PC exclusive again is laughable. It didn't work for them before and it's not going to work again.

Notice how i said “even measuredly so”. Meaning 6 months to a year exclusivity windows. Im sure they will be strategic with their placement on Ps5/Ps6 especially if they intend on selling next gen hardware which they have formally announced already along with a heavily hinted at handheld. I think if you think youre getting every first party day and date you’re kidding yourself if they plan to incentivize people into buying another piece of hardware.

They are publicly traded and sooner or later shareholders will start thinking that they are leaving money on the table. I guess having a profitable console and high margin accessories will help Nintendo maintain the status quo. But another WiiU and things might change quick.

When I said Flightsim is the last bastion of the Xbox fanbase, it's rhetoric like this that I'm referring to:
I think both are incredibly impressive for different reasons. Aesthecically R&C is more impressive but on a technical level Flightsim is simply untouchable (as this award attests).

Look at the scale and how everything has its own set of physics within the massive sandbox, its just an incredibly dynamic game that very few games come close to. Then take into account the advanced AI (no respawning enemies) who can use all the weapons and vehicles within the sandbox, it's a technical marvel and goes way beyond your normal AAA game.

All that and it looks top 5 graphics for the year anyway. Only Flightsim, R&C, Forza 5 and probably Battlefield look better IMO, and apart from Flightsim and maybe Battlefield none are technically as impressive.

It's not the showcase the original 2018 was that's the problem. Sony first party so far have not been producing next generation graphics as of yet (Ratchet is probably the best so far) Microsoft have had an even more mixed bag but arguably Flightsim is the only true next gen looking game.

2023 is going to be the year when we see what these consoles are actually capable of, only then will certain people realise what we've had so far is underwhelming.

Microsoft have never made a profit on hardware and this has been their worst performing generation so far. I highly doubt they'll make another traditional console.

Making another powerful console isn't going to lure the masses back to Xbox. They've tried this for a long time and it's not worked out for them. It's far more lucrative for Microsoft to release their games on as many platforms as possible.

These are about the graphics and technology powering Flightsim not it being the holy grail of Xbox exclusives. Anyway if one game would be considered the last bastion it would be Halo IMO but I don't see an issue with any game going to Playstation, it's more will brand new games go Day 1? I'd be surprised if all did go Day 1 but as long as Gamepass exists I'm fine with that as well.

Halo as a franchise has become rather irrelevant and took a complete nosedive with Infinite.

There's a reason people like you suddenly started parading with Flightsim of all titles.

For me I enjoyed Xbox from 2004 to about 2010, and the classic Halo games were a big part of that.

I have no interest in Infinite or future titles, but Is love to revisit the first 3 games, especially multiplayer.

While the games his saying are most likely to come, this guy doesn't know shit. His been guessing stuff in the past and constantly moving goalpost when it doesnt happen.
The first tweet was stuff he heard. The second tweet was answering a question about what he thinks those titles would be.

Every body is free to speculate on X and he never claimed as an "insider" like many of posters on the Internet.
