I'm excited about Flight Sim, maybe Starfield if it's actually better now, but I don't care about Fable at all unless its the original trilogy.

Give us Rare Replay, adamsapple adamsapple !

Sony need to completely cull their radicals and overhaul their game design philosophy which is completely unsustainable but even I as a Switch main know that Nintendo is not the de facto home console. People aren’t playing Apex, CoD, FIFA, GTA 6 religiously on the Switch. That core ‘bro’ market of teens and young adults are going to be buying a PS6 and not a Switch 2.

Nintendo’s games are miles better.
It doesn't matter where people play their 3rd party games at this very moment if the company that makes the console isn't financially healthy and future proof. Nintendo will get a big part of the market you just described with the Switch 2. Finally a Nintendo console that will be able to run all those games you mentioned from day 1. Switch 1 didn't have that opportunity. Nintendo learned big time. It will make people think twice before buying a PS5/6. People don't care about graphics anymore and the sales charts prove it.

If all those games were already available for S1, PS5 would have sold a LOT less consoles. The only reason PS5 is selling OK is because the Switch wasn't powerful enough to support a lot of 3rd party titles.

Well just have to agree to disagree on that as I know a few normies who ditched their Series S consoles for a PS5 effectively because the ‘PS5 versions of the games are better’ (whatever that means).

The sales charts prove that people play old games more than new AAA graphic powerhouses. Roblox , GTA 5, Minecraft and the list goes on. That's where the money's at. All those games can run on your mom's calculator.

The new generation doesn't give a F about Indiana Jones or Alan Wake 2.

Nintendo will provide a console that doesn't give the best graphics, but almost anything will be playable AND at a much lower entry price and WITH Nintendo games.

If Sony doesn't change their game it's over. The days of best graphics win is long gone.

This doesn't make any sense.

Regardless, Sony sees the console market stagnating. That's why they're raising prices and porting games to PC/Nintendo. Big changes are coming for sure.

Them porting games to pc is old news at this point.

I don’t see them porting any significant non-GaaS/kids partnership deals to Nintendo

Most of those games are tied to BC emulation layers, Rare Replay is just the package. They'd need to sort that out first.
I really hope so. For me, Rare Replay was a system seller of the Xbox One. I bought it and beat most of the games on there in a month. I'd take Rare Replay over almost anything else if I could. Rare did a heck of a job putting that package together.

But clearly it is. 150+ million plus in homes compared to Xbox/PS.
I’m not interested in the whole ‘well ackshually it’s a hybrid’ BS dialogue - if anyone thinks Sony are in danger of Nintendo absorbing their player base (and selling 250m Switch 2 consoles) id advise that they lower the crack pipe.

How much total revenue on games sales are they making (including third parties) vs Sony? It’s nowhere near

User base is a bad metric
So you are saying consoles sold is a bad metric? Sony and Xbox make a lot of revenue. But revenue isn't important to the consumer. And profit is even more important, and that still isn't important to the consumer. What matters to the consumer are the games, and a large user base pool of players to play with.

Think like a gamer, not like a stock holder.

What “lower entry price” ? A ps5 was sub $399 and it is infinitely better than a switch 2 at playing games

The Switch 2 won’t have GTA 6, RDR3 or Elden Ring 2. Bookmark this post, if I’m wrong Ass of Can Whooping Ass of Can Whooping will drink my cum.

I’m saying the economy of a platform is judged by its overall software sales, that’s what we are discussing right?

I’m not saying they’ll go full third party. I think they are going to adopt a new strategy. Ultra expensive hardware and 100 year dev cycles are a dead end.

PS5 was never 399 at launch, not is it portable. Nintendo will provide that on day 1. It can play all the top 10 games and Nintendo games. Portable.

You don't seem to understand that Sony needs to change or it's in trouble big time.

PS5 was $399 on launch day. I bought one at that price.

Portability isn’t a factor for most audiences, and PlayStation has Portal for those that want it

Sony just killed their main competitor and is boasting record sales/profits/muas

Continue jerking off to their impending doom based on nonsense though

So what? As long as it has any of the current top 10 games it's going to do just fine. The time when big AAA games with extreme gfx dominated the sales charts is long over.
There’s 80m casuals that want to buy GTA for a home console and not a PC - they’re buying a PS for that game alone.

Sony have the longest rope ever to hang themselves with. It would literally be impossible for them to not change direction in time before catastrophic failure (unless they sign another couple of those Marvel contracts).

Somebody tell this man that the Switch is almost the most sold console of all time. And its portable. Which is one of its USP's.

Portal is the most ugly and horrible thing Sony has ever produced. I have NEVER seen anyone using that ugly shit in the subway. You?

And third party games are still selling more on other platforms

Most people want a high quality experience to play AAA games, not portable graphics from 15 years ago

You can still hang yourself on a long rope. If you think Sony is impervious to industry change, your wrong.

The industry is reinventing itself as we speak. Big AAA games are more and more risky. Eastern studio's make great games for way less money. Sony has no clue how to manage projects at the moment. They are still doing OK, but they have to change or it's bad news.

Yes. It was quicker than editing. For some reason the edit button cuts off in the window on Gaf and takes me five minutes to try and catch the top of the button with retard fingers.. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

I knew it!!

..But did it anyway :pie_thinking:

👀

I actually feel your pain! And aye, same here, played a few hours, uninstalled. Awful all round.
“Retard fingers” got me 💀 😂

Nintendo is BY FAR the most healthy gaming company on earth.

Sony isn't. They are walking on thin ice if they don't change. People don't give a F about the best graphics anymore like they did 20 years ago. Times are changing.

Nintendo has had nowhere near the consistency of Sony in terms of a healthy ecosystem and business

They had a massive bomb with Wii U, GC, etc. they seem to bounce back and forth between success and failure

Their platform only serves to sell their games and everything else is an afterthought and that’s not going to change

People will not be selling PlayStations to play GTA6 on a shoddy piece of hardware with ancient graphics on switch 2

Even with the WiiU they were still financially healthy and made money. And more importantly: they learned their lesson. They design their consoles to earn money on day 1. GC wasn't a bomb. It just sold less than they wanted. My God man, are you for real?

It seems to me you are a PS fanboy and are oblivious to any real objective discussion.

Switch 2 doesn't need GTA6. Switch 1 is the best selling console of all time without GTA5.

No, I’m just logical and have a brain

I’m getting a switch 2, there’s not a chance in hell it becomes a place to play third party games

Expecting a mass exodus is nothing but dreaming from Nintendo fanboys

Bro, they won this generation with their eyes closed and without the massive 3rd party support you're talking about.

Switch 2 is a MUCH better Switch 1 that can handle the top 10 games from today. Something S1 couldn't.

COD on Switch is something millions of people will be interested in and even without it, it will still do amazing numbers.

Fair opinion from someone who jumped in late: Backlog play.

And by that I mean backwards compatibility titles and older, obscure console exclusives that have a 95% chance of never making it out to other platforms.

With the popularity of remasters and collections, there aren't many worthwhile games that have that low of a chance of coming to PlayStation.

If you like remasters PS is the go to console for sure. But some day, even the biggest Sony fanboys will get tired of paying for rehashed shit.

Where are the damn games?

They did not "win" this generation. Winning is not selling the most units. It's selling the most software/hardware revenue in total. And more software was sold in total on Playstation.

Switch 2 is about the same as Switch 1, it's a generation behind current consoles if not more. It will perform less than a Series S, which is already a system that struggles with third party games and is being left behind. CoD on switch will be a wet far in comparison to Playstation. Nobody is dropping their dedicated consoles to play on a weaker handheld with horrible ergonomics.

Switch 2 primarily sells to audiences that want to play Nintendo games. That's it. That's all it ever will be.

Nintendo made more profit % than Sony or Microsoft. That's what counts. They are way more healthy as a gaming company.

If you don't think CoD on S2 will boost sales than I don't know what to tell you bro. S1 couldn't even run a modern CoD. S2 is smarter hardware and can run more games in comparison.

It's not about what Nintendo makes. It's about what the entire ecosystem makes. And the entire ecosystem makes a lot more on Playstation than it does on Switch

Sony Gaming earns less money % than Nintendo in total.

I hope you understand English pal because than means Nintendo is doing a MUCH better job.

You clearly don't understand English or logic.

It's not Sony vs Nintendo

It's what do ALL companies make on one platform vs. another platform. We know the answer. It's not on switch.
