Rumor: Fable, MS Flight Simulator and Starfield are coming to PS5

Listen, this rumor is more funny now and hits different then when it was first talked about.

Sooooo many kept making it sound like this was just not feasible and those 4 titles where the ONLY titles being put on PS etc The more this goes on, the more those "rumors" suddenly don't sound like wild "rumors" anymore.

At this point, its inevitable and a moot point. The original rumor talked about Forza, talked about MS making a handheld, Starfield etc So much of it has come true, that clearly the whole fucking thing is true, it weird that you still have some trying to fight this as if Sea Of Thieves was the last, even this idea that ONLY GaaS games would come, then it was like "Doom is coming cause its an existing IP that was on PS"

Forza comes

"ok, but nothing new though"

Indiana Jones coming to PS5

"ok, but its an existing......FILM IP WTF BROZ"
Who are you talking about specifically?

I think that’s just because the stock character in the trailers is a fugly woman. They’ve always let you choose between a man and woman. [...]

Yes, hopefully they will continue that tradition. They should do themselves a marketing favor and put out a trailer featuring the male protagonist or their character creator. That would help tamp down some of the grumbling.

They're all coming. Xbox is third party now with optional hardware.
Other than traditionally multiplatform games (Doom) or MP games (Forza) all other 1st party Xbox games will likely come to PS5 6-12 months after release,on Gamepass on Xbox. So...yes Xbox is optional only if you want to wait a while (like Indy, South of Midnight, Avowed....etc...)

Whoa whoa whoa…..it’s better than Fallout 76 and Fallout 4. I’ll die on that hill.
Nah, with Survival Mode on and some mods Fallout 4 turns into a pretty decent survival adventure game. Story is still shit , but atmosphere is great.

Starfield just sucks throughout minus spaceship builder.

Fallout 76 is meh so not sure how it compares to Starfield on the “shit scale”.

GerAlt-Right. Ciriously.
I can give you some uses:

- day 1 Microsoft games
- backwards compatibility with 2 generations with much improved graphics
- Much better app support and developer mode
- you can use it as a Media Center (Kodi, VLC). This is not possible on PS
- Internet Browser
- Better Deals on the Store compared to PlayStation if you're a GamePass subscriber.
- Xbox Cloud Gaming works great. I play my Series X games in the bedroom on my Xbox One S without any real lag.
- If you like the above you can also get Microsoft Rewards to make your GamePass subscription cheaper.

I play more on Xbox at the moment because I have a huge backlog and most older games simply run and look much better on Xbox. Xbox has VRR with backwards compatibility and A LOT of older games are locked 30 on PS5, while they are 60 and upscaled and filtered on Xbox. Big win if you like older games.

I get it, it's cool and fun to bash Xbox but it's still a great console (Series X).
I’ve been as critical/hard/bullish on MS/Xbox but the XSX is a great system and it’s still got good value for anyone who owns it and doesn’t have access to a PC.

I don't get the laughing emojis to
my post. These are all unique and exclusive features to the Series X.

lol Sir, I don't even know that

One rumor suggests Fable will launch simultaneously on Switch 2, PS5, XB, and PC, was that "traditionally multiplatform" too?

Seems like many of us, like OmegaSupreme OmegaSupreme , got it right, they all coming. No need to split it like "Doom was for this" or "Forza is MP," then act like first-party games will follow some strict 6-12 month PS5 release pattern. There’s no set standard or logic proving that.

The delay for some games was likely just about finding a port team, not some policy about MP titles vs. traditional third-party games etc. We have rumors about Starfield and Fable...games that weren’t previously multiplatform and one of them is a completely new IP.

All these games are coming, and the wait might just be about securing a team for the port.

Good luck playing flight sim with a controller. 2020 was somewhat playable but 2024 is really bad. Neither should have got a console version at all even Xbox.

Their messaging is so confusing though. They clearly dont know what they are doing themselves and are just throwing shit at the wall.

How is it any confusing now? Theyve come out now and told you that their games will be multiplatform from here on. “I don’t want any more walls” is plain speak.

If you only have an Xbox and plan to be a console only gamer, best plan is to trade in for a PS5 if you’re not on GamePass.

If you only have an Xbox and like GamePass, get a PS5 as a secondary console. You’re going to move to the PS ecosystem eventually.

If you have a good PC, nothing changes.

There’s quite a novelty to playing a new game on the successor to its traditional hardware.

I bought Megaman 11 on Switch instead of PS4 for example.
I did the same with that one. Still while modern Rare doesn’t compare to their 90’s output I’ll take what I can get when it comes to portable port scraps.

I bought the premium edition, via digital, on the Xbox
Feels great. Best purchase ever

Could be worse. Could be me. I had such high hopes for the game that I broke my own preordering rule and ordered the Constellation Edition.

I’ve gotten more use out of the cheap Android Smartwatch than I have out of the game. 😬

Edit:
There's not much it's like why buy a Surface laptop? Think of the Xbox like that and you will understand what the next Xbox is. A choice that they don't expect to sell much of and they are fine with 20-30 million people.

They’re barely managing 30 million people with consoles they sell at a hefty loss and with one of them being a “budget” version.

If the “next Xbox” isn’t going to be sold at a loss, as rumors suggest, I highly doubt they’ll see 20-30 million sales. Asking PS5 Pro price (or potentially more) for a console where all their games are playable elsewhere will be a hard sell, even to a lot of fans.

If they want to stay in the “console” business they will have to do things to set themselves apart

Can they though?
IMO telling someone that they need to spend 300-500 bucks in a hardware to play a game they know it could run perfectly with what the customer had isn't much enticing at all, offering instead a cheapo subscription service as they know most people will finish a game and move to the next one is a much more of a positive note.

Back in mid 2000s I had to beg my parents for a PS2 for years, even an Xbox or Gamecube would be enough, because there was plenty of games that weren't on PC, terrible times.

Did you just quote and reply to yourself? 🤦‍♂️😂😂😂
Yes. It was quicker than editing. For some reason the edit button cuts off in the window on Gaf and takes me five minutes to try and catch the top of the button with retard fingers.. :messenger_tears_of_joy:
He did. That's almost as bad as the guy who quotes himself daily with his, "I knew it!!!!".
I knew it!!

..But did it anyway :pie_thinking:

I actually feel your pain! And aye, same here, played a few hours, uninstalled. Awful all round.

Not a warrior.
I want MS to be a strong platform holder, as a power that keeps Sony at check.
This is the sad truth though. They took the wrong turn 12 years ago and they missed every chance for course correction.
No worries mate. Sony is now destroying itself while Microsoft is the biggest publisher in the world. In a few years we only have Steam, Nintendo and Microsoft left.

Whilst Sony’s first party is doo doo they are effectively the de facto home console provider now and we know the market for home consoles is a steady 100m+ consumers every gen. Making 30% of every transaction that takes place - there would have to be a lot of concords for Sony to destroy itself and to be honest I see a realignment happening in the next 6-7 years as more first party flops occur where they refocus their efforts away from the West and California.

If we're being honest, Nintendo Switch is the de facto home console with 150+ million consoles.

Sony is throwing away money on AAA projects that don't sell enough and take too much time to develop. They can't sustain this long-term. Nintendo makes great games that cost way less to make and sells them for full price for an infinite amount of time. If Sony took some lessons from Nintendo they would've secured their future already.

Sony is not in a good situation at all. It needs to reinvent itself or it's in trouble for the long-term

Sony need to completely cull their radicals and overhaul their game design philosophy which is completely unsustainable but even I as a Switch main know that Nintendo is not the de facto home console. People aren’t playing Apex, CoD, FIFA, GTA 6 religiously on the Switch. That core ‘bro’ market of teens and young adults are going to be buying a PS6 and not a Switch 2.

Nintendo’s games are miles better.
