They literally do everything to avoid Veronica and Dino Crisis. So fervent is their desire to avoid it they said here you go we even put Dragon's Dogma 2 on the RE Engine.

There are recent rumors of a Resident Evil movie reboot with a "big" budget. Sony is developing it. So I'm guessing the video game and movie will come out close to one another to drive sales. Better chance it will be a faithful adaptation too. I'm in on this if true

I'd inevitably end up playing it, though I can't say that this would be particularly exciting. I'm good with the REmake we already have, and I don't think it needs a third-person reinterpretation when the whole point of the original game was being scared of what's around the corner in a bunch of claustrophobic corridors - even moreso than in RE2. The free movement afforded by a third-person perspective kinda kills that.

Not at all true. There are plenty of people (myself included) who weren't into the camera perspective. It's the only game in the series that hasn't been fully modernized. Now I'll get to play them all in the same style.

Man, the big takeaway in this thread is that I need to dust off my copy of RE1 on the GameCube and actually give it another shot.
