Who wants to play a PvP only PS game shooter whose premise is "capitalism BAD"?
Next to the shitty climate change / environmentalist concept of the new Perfect Dark that was also cancelled, these are the wokest gameplay concepts you could ever imagine.
It's like they took all the purple haired activist loons from California and Europe, filtered them for the most ardent and fucking nuts of them, and then gave them a blank cheque to develop their dream game based on their most woke, most activist, most creatively bankrupt, most self-insert premise they could conceive of.

Not that there ever was a change of focus in the first place outside of a Gaf narrative. Their SP studios have continued working on SP games and all these GaaS games were from newly acquired studios. But yeah... GAF prefers the narrative to facts, so have at it peons.

If you think them investing in GaaS was a mistake, then this represents a self-correction.
That's not a sign of bad management. Rather the opposite.
No management is perfect, but unlike Xbox management, good managers recognising when something is not working and make the decision to course correct.
If you're a fan of SP games, you should see this as a positive.

The Wii U didn't suffer from a lack of great first-party games. The launch window lineup was extremely subpar, but it eventually had quite a catalog.
Rather, it was that the hardware itself was so profoundly unappealing that the games didn't matter, no one wanted one.

I am 100% sure the current Playstation management has no idea what they are doing, they have little to no faith to their established IPs for sequels, only remakes and remasters and they think they will get fat bonuses from GaaS.
